'I only have 5 seconds left of
Rick scanned the dark room for any hiding spot he could dive into and found the only suitable place to be the underneath of the counter. He quickly cleared out what he could and hid there in complete silence.
Footsteps slowly echoed through the wooden building of Grants Potions and Elixirs. The light grew significantly brighter as Grant walked down into the main storefront.
Through the small cracks of the wooden boards of the counter Rick could see a tired and wary Grant holding a lantern in one hand and a staff in the other.
'Damn! Marcus told me that staffs make mages much stronger. At least 2 times as strong as one without it.'
"MY POTIONS! They are missing! There is a thief in my home! I must stop him at once." Grant shouted as he quickly started to mutter spells underneath his breath. The words mumbled to quickly for Rick to hear them but it definitely didn't stop him from knowing the effects. The room was shed in light soon after the words where uttered as many strange light orbs started to float all across the room.
'Looks like I have to actually fight this guy! With my bare fists no less.' Rick thought to himself as he prepared an ambush.
'Come on stealth, Work!'
'Damnit! Looks like I'll just have to do this the old fashioned way. I never really did get into fights but when I did I always won.'
Rick dashed out of his hiding spot and quickly proceeded to ram into the unsuspecting mage. A look of surprise sprung upon the face of Grant before receiving two sharp blows to the head.

Target is partially wounded. -5% movement speed.

Grant reacted quickly though a confused expression clearly showed on his bloody face. The fists had left there marks and even surprised Rick at how much damage he caused.
Rick reared back trying to get in a blow before the mage could start speaking but almost failed.
Grant quickly shouted out a few words but he was too late. The confused condition delayed his words just in time for grant to hit again with his fists. The blow thwacked hard against his skull as Rick tried his hardest to knock out Grant.

The target has no defense and takes a total of 16 damage. The target is still confused.
Target is heavily wounded (-20% movement Speed. -50% concentration. Stunned for 5 seconds.).

Grant seemed to become confused at the shock of taking so much damage at once. He stuttered and the spell seemed to cancel. Rick reared back for one more punch before being stopped by some invisible force. Grant who was in front of him passed out in a heap on the ground.

'YES!' Rick shouted mentally.
A quick chop to his neck was enough to quell his minds excited thoughts.
"You can't almost kill people. You need to learn how to control your strength. You almost killed him." Lucas said as he apparated into existence from seemingly nowhere.
Rick felt confliction as he thought the system was accurate and that reducing their HP to zero would result in knocking the target out.
"But I only used my fists. And he is a tier two Wizard what am I supposed to do but go all out. He would of killed me for certain if he would have finished his incantation. "
Lucas pondered to himself for a second.
"I need to teach you how to control your blows. Never go all out against anyone unless your certain they are more powerful than you. Especially not Mages. Not only do I need to teach you how to control your blows but to understand your combat ability and others."
"This is gonna take awhile." Lucas muttered to himself.
"Leave the potions. We are leaving." He stated with obvious anger in his voice. Perhaps it wasn't anger but... disappointment.
It was a silent walk back to the Orphanage and they only arrived after the city had began to be bustling with people once more.
Lucas opened the doors to the sight of many sleeping orphans sprawled out all among the place. It seems like he would be sleeping amongst them. Or at least that's what Lucas told Rick as he left him there cold and tired.
"Looks like I made a really big mistake. Like any other day I suppose." Rick said to himself before passing out on the hard stone floor.
