Lucas seemed to have a fire in him that he didn't have the previous day. It was strange but refreshing. Perhaps the knee to Ricks back wasn't refreshing but the vibe he gave off was.
"You are officially apart of the Orphanage of lost children. But that means nothing compared to being apart of the Thieves Guild. It will set you up for your road of thieving to come and set you up to receive as better instructor than me when you reach tier 2... if you have the talent and charisma."
"People won't choose anybody. And You don't have much time to prepare. The deadline for the entry exam is tomorrow at a non disclosed location."
"So I have to give you a taste of what you might receive."
Lucas seemed to be pumped up about what was about to happen and Rick was definitely not excited for whatever is to come to happen.
Rick stood up from the ground with the help of Lucas. After standing up all Rick saw was a blur of dust and Lucas tearing down the alley way.
"What are you doing?!"
Lucas remained silent as Rick finally realized what was going on. It was like he was back to being a little kid again playing tag with older kids. He began sprinting towards Lucas with all he had.
After he exited the alley way he found himself in another dilemma. The crowd was bustling and fighting against him. It wasn't too busy down here but it would become much difficult to find him if Lucas bolted towards busier parts of the undercity they lived in.
Lucas was tearing down the busy street like it was nothing while Rick was struggling at every moment. Lucas was just moving too fast!
Lucas was diving in and out of the crowds making his way to the end of the street while rick had just began.
It was just too much of a difference.
Rick also felt like his stamina was running out which was strange.
'Sweet!'
Rick instantly felt his movement speed lurch forward as it quickly evolved. Before he knew it he was already around the bend of the street and could clearly see Lucas a few yards away from him. All he had to do was get through a large crowd of children who seemed to be playing games.
'If I try and get through the crowd peacefully I will never catch lucas... looks like i'm gonna have to jump over them!'
Rick put as much force into his legs as possible as he leaped over the crowd with an overwhelming amount of power. Rick was overcome by a feeling of the freedom from soaring through the air without a care in the world. He easily leaped past the group with the newfound strength of his improved body.
It seems like he was many times stronger than he ever could have been on Earth here in Litherium.
Rick landed on the ground with a little less style than intended but managed to land decently nonetheless. He continued forward and with a lurching movement he grappled on to the stunned Lucas's body.
They both tripped and tumbled to the ground as they started to breathe in deeply in exhaustion.
"How the hell do you move so fast" Lucas panted.
"I learned, ha ha ha, a skill." Rick said while laughing. The feeling of speed is just too enjoyable.
"How the hell did you learn a skill so fast?!"
"I don't know. I just did."
"Well it seems like you are probably good to go for the Thieves Guild Initiation."
"Let's head back to the Orphanage to recover our stamina." Lucas said before shakily standing up.
'It seems like running that fast without the skill really taxes the body. Hmm... this System might really be a blessing.' Rick thought to himself as they made their way back to the orphanage.
While on the way back Rick decided to take a look at the skill he had just received.
---
Sprint is an active stamina skill that improves movement speed for awhile by 200%. It currently costs 1 point of stamina for 1 minute of activation. When this skill is leveled up user moves quicker at the cost of extra stamina.
---
'Not too bad indeed! A little basic but that never hurt anyone.' Rick thought to himself as the sight of the Orphanage slowly came into view.
It would be an interesting Trial if it was anything like the fun he had had today. He was excited to say the least.
"So their are a few things you will have to know about the Thieves Guild of Lumeras before tomorrow." Lucas said in a carefree yet serious manner.
"They call themselves The Steel Hands of God. Though not particularly pious they still follow the god of our nation, The Metal Giant God. We are afterall in the Metal Giant Nation. The one in Lumeras is most likely the largest headquarters of the Guild in the Metal Giant Nation and is probably the most liked evil guild their is."
"We don't do evil or corrupt things other than stealing for the most part. We only kill when necessary and we never do the things that are best left unsaid. And because of this we are looked at in a better light than most of the other thieves guilds around the world."
"We are a just yet un righteous group. We don't save others, we stand on neutral ground. They are a great place for people like you and me to grow."
"So now that you have had a taste of what might be in store for you what do you think?" Lucas said in an expectant voice.
"I'm Excited!"
