Chapter 7 - You are no different from an ant

The huge doors in front of Liam were opened in no time. "It reminds me of the castles of yesteryear on earth."

He remembered the cover of a history book in which an army of knights was seen trying to conquer a castle.

In said castle, an entrance similar to the one in front of him could be seen.

Liam passed through the doorway and a cooling wind ruffled all of his hair.

He unconsciously felt relaxed. Unfortunately, his injuries woke him up.

Liam opened his eyes and saw the first time he saw the interior of the Blue City.

The memories of him made him feel familiar with the environment that the Blue City transmitted to him. Anyway, it was a new experience for Liam.

The citizens walked the streets of the city calmly. Families met and old friends chatted with each other to tell how life had treated them.

Groups of workers enjoyed their free time at fast food stores before going to work. It was lunch time.

The streets were packed with crowds of people, no space could be found empty. Except for the alleys. Even in these you could see people. Beggars mostly.

Small businesses abounded scattered around the streets promoting their products or services.

"Come buy the amazing fruits from my store! They are collected from a magical tree on the outskirts of the Blue City! " A man with a big belly yelled to promote his products.

An interested person approached his position. The man with a large barrel did not miss this opportunity and approached this person.

"What's up friend? Did you know that these fruits increase the time in ... the assaults of the nights? " The man made a sly smile as he whispered in the ear of the person next to him.

The person who took an interest in his position turned out that he was an innocent young man, no more than 19 years old. He had recently gotten a girlfriend and this was one of the things that worried him the most.

Hearing the salesman talk about this topic, the young man was a bit embarrassed and lowered his head slightly. "G-Give me two please ..."

"Of course!"

Many situations like this occurred in different parts of the city. Some more crowded than others.

A slight smile appeared on Liam's face unconsciously as he watched the busy streets.

He could see in the distance guards similar to the ones he encountered at the entrance guarding the streets to ensure the protection of citizens.

No thief would be brave enough to steal from these places. Unless he wants to get caught by one of these guards.

The most surprising thing about all this is that Liam was able to see structures with modern designs like those on Earth.

He could even see people walking around with their cell phones in their hands!

With not being enough, Liam watched as a place that sold technological gadgets dazzled a hologram in midair.

Liam's mouth widened at the sight of this. "This is much more advanced than Earth ..."

"I thought it would be like a medieval world where only magic exists and technology is too backward compared to Earth, but I see that I was wrong ..."

Liam made a mistake in thinking that this world would be like the fantasy novels he read during his childhood.

"It's more like a second humanity from Earth that was forced to corner itself in a corner of the planet so as not to go extinct." He thought.

While he was still lost in thought of him thinking how similar this world was to Earth, his body was pushed aside. "What the hell?"

Due to his weak and injured body, Liam fell to the ground in a few seconds. He couldn't even resist.

"Step aside you brat!" An angry voice of a man was heard in the distance.

Liam froze on the ground for a few seconds.

The people around him looked at him slightly before ignoring him.

They didn't even show any empathy for the injured young man in front of them.

Much less the person who pushed him in the first place.

"Customs never change ..." Liam rose slowly from the ground with a frown.

He looked at the giant figure that had thrown him to the ground and was walking off into the furious distance.

After receiving this sudden shock, his colorful and happy vision of the Blue City completely disappeared.

The impression on this fantasy world slowly became the same as it had on earth.

"How stupid of me to think that this world would be a warmer one."

"The murderers of this body and his family who discriminated against him."

"The guards who showed me total contempt."

"His student life that was hell."

"All of these are more than enough reasons to say that this world is not kind." Liam dusted his torn clothes with a blank face.

"I will only think of this damn place as a second Earth, but with magic and monsters ..."

Liam blended into the crowd as he walked in a particular direction.

People didn't even bother to make a path for him and kept walking as if nothing happened.

He was even pushed around by more people as he went further into the crowd. He was small and weak after all.

Discrimination occurred in all cities within the territories of the human race.

After many human versus monster wars, a feeling like empathy had long since been lost.

Today no one cared about others unless

something was at stake or there was a particular benefit.

You had to worry about yourself. Nobody knows what can happen tomorrow.

Without money, power, or status, you are no different than an ant. The strong rule and the weak obey.

It is the same law everywhere, and the Blue City is no exception.

Eventually, Liam's figure disappeared into the crowd.
