Chereads / The Supreme Hunter / Chapter 9 - User: Liam Verlock

Chapter 9 - User: Liam Verlock

After thinking for a few minutes, Liam asked, "What is this such system?"

Before jumping to conclusions, he first wanted to draw some important information.

Then, the same voice from before was heard in his mind.

[System is a granted power.]

Liam frowned. Just by hearing this he knew that he was hiding information.

He did not like people to pretend to be mysterious and interesting.

He didn't even know if the voice in his mind could be categorized as a person.

Liam calmed down and asked another question. "Who gave me this power?"

The information from before did not solve his doubts at all.

If not, he created many more.

[…]

"You're not going to answer?" Liam felt somewhat annoyed.

It was annoying to know that he didn't know anything about his situation.

After a long ten minutes and a long questioning of the voice in his mind, Liam gave up trying.

It's like questioning a worker bribed with millions of dollars when he only earns a pittance a month. He won't say anything.

"Without answers I won't get anywhere." Liam said. "At least tell me what functions you have as a system." He added he.

His annoyance was exchanged for a hint of interest.

During his childhood he loved to read novels, and his favorite genres of that time were systems.

Liam thought this option was happening right now.

He was fifty percent certain that it wasn't a bad joke.

From what he'd seen in Blue City at the tech gadget store, a hologram projector was too much.

The money in this world was the credits. What people used today.

For example, the old Liam was hopefully earning 100 credits a month as a loader.

To live in his apartment, he paid at least 60 credits every month.

So the hologram projector that Liam had seen a few hours ago in a store in Blue City easily cost more than five million credits.

Money that only few people or families would have.

And what Liam was seeing in front of his eyes was a golden hologram that seemed to be more advanced than normal ones.

Who would bother to play such an expensive joke on a poor boy like him? The question solves itself.

Regardless of this, the question from before him was answered with several options that appeared.

[Condition]

[Missions]

[Store]

"Three options? Interesting." Liam looked at his options before hitting the status option.

[Race: Human]

[Level 1/20]

[0/100 exp]

[HP 2/20]

[MP 0/0]

[Strength: 1]

[Stamina: 1]

[Agility: 1]

[Mana: None]

[Status points: 0]

"It's like a game ..." Liam said.

After reading his status window, the idea of a game was the first thing he thought of.

As someone who also loved video games in his childhood, he had a basic understanding of these things.

"Why don't I have anything in my mana stat?" Liam wondered in his mind.

He then remembered how this body was intimidated by everyone by his almost nonexistent mana. "Oh now I see…"

"But that doesn't explain my other stats that only have one point. I don't know if I am weak or strong. " Liam didn't know what to compare himself to to know his ability.

[Average statistics of an adult human: 10.]

His system went to the trouble of answering his questions.

"I am too weak compared to an average person, that explains why this body died after being hit. It cannot withstand blows. " Liam thought.

For some strange reason, his interest in this system in his mind grew stronger and stronger.

Remembering how games worked on Earth, Liam thought about the abilities that video game characters used to attack and defend themselves.

As if someone were reading his thoughts, another hologram emerged in front of his eyes.

[Skills]

[Active: Evaluate Lv.1]

[Skill points: 0]

"My skills… I only have one available. What is he doing in particular? " Liam said after reading his abilities.

"By name it must be related to evaluating things." He thought he. Liam looked up at his bed and thought about activating his ability.

[Bed.]

"..." Liam was speechless. "You can't even consider an evaluation. Maybe it is because it is at level one. " He thought with her hand on his chin.

Looking at his status again, his gaze lingered on his mana stat that didn't have a single point. "How can I upload my stats?" He asked himself.

[The host must earn status points to raise his stats. These points are earned by leveling up or completing system missions.]

"Missions? Like the mission from before? " Liam said in a curious tone as he turned his head to look at the hologram next to him.

[Daily mission available]

[Does a hundred squats: 0/100]

[Does a hundred sit-ups: 0/100]

[Does a hundred push-ups: 0/100]

[Run a kilometer: 0/1]

[Rewards: two status points.]

Liam saw that his mission was more like a training regimen for his body. He saw that he had none accomplished.

At this point, he had momentarily forgotten about his injuries.

After a few more minutes of thinking, Liam came up with a result. "Well, let's think about this in the future. Let's first see what other options we have. " Liam entered his choice of [Missions].

"As he thought, it only shows my available missions." Liam looked at his [Missions] window in which he only had one. The daily mission.

"Let's see the store. Hey?" Liam was about to select his store before a system notification from him interrupted him.

[Store blocked. Required level: 5]

"So I only have my status and my missions, which is only one. My store appears to be locked until I reach level five. " Liam analyzed his situation before thinking about his next moves.

"Before doing anything, first I will heal my wounds, this pain is already becoming unbearable and I don't know if my body has already absorbed any disease from the earth." Liam looked at his fresh wounds that had a bit of dirt on the surface of them.

Liam got up from his bed and walked into the kitchen to get something to eat while he collected his thoughts from him.

Before thinking about the future, he would focus on the present. He first he would have to know more about the world in which he will live from now on.

According to the few memories this body has of the Blue City, there are a few public establishments that citizens use.

For example, libraries, museums, hospitals, etc.

Liam was planning to visit the hospital to have his injuries treated. But that thought was quickly banished from his head.

First of all, he did not know where any hospital was located. Since the original owner never walked through the Blue City to find out more about it.

Second, he did not know if it was necessary to meet any requirements to receive medical care.

Liam knew that monsters existed in this world, so there must be fighting all the time. Injured people must have been common everywhere and medical care for all was limited.

Instead, he put the hospital aside and concentrated on learning more about the current world situation.

Going to a library to learn more about this world was the best option. He evidently didn't know where one was, so he would have to search for himself.
