Chapter 34 - Chapter 23: The Raid

"I'm home!"

I pushed the door when I finally reached it.

It's already dark when I arrive at my apartment. I spent too much time in their house.

I touched my heart as it beats while I'm on my knees breathing heavily.

Are they still chasing me?

Siege told me that her sister want to see me. Turns out that they just want to lock me up in their house.

"Welcome back!" The one who greeted me was Finn who was lifelessly sitting on the couch.

Ms. Hera said that Finn was probably disappointed and down right now. But what I'm seeing now is how a neet acts, in the house.

This freeloader! I'm sure he knows something about that.

"Ms. Hera told me to stay in their house. Do you have something to do with it?" I asked.

Ms. Hera ask me to stay at their house, that's the reason why they called me.

But I turned it down that's why the situation turned out like this.

"Yeah, and it looks like they failed in convincing you."

"I said that I'll think about it. You didn't expect me to just agree without hearing a proper reason. Did you?"

Ms. Hera told me a reason why she wants me to stay in their house. But I wasn't convinced by it. Instead, it leaves me so many doubts especially when Siege attempted to smack me.

"I guess there's no way we can force you into leaving your own house." He said in a tired manner.

I wanted to get some information from him, surely they didn't just say that for no good reason such as wanted to spent time with me.

But Finn right now was giving a 'not feel like talking' vibe. So I guess pursuing the matter was just a waste of time.

"So where's Luna, based on what Ms. Hera said. She's the one who was the most wiped right now."

Ms. Hera said that Luna drained her mana during the fight earlier. I was guessing that she's probably sleeping inside Finn's room. But I still ask.

"AAAAAHHH!"

A loud scream coming from my room resonated into the apartment.

I guess I don't need to ask where she is.

I turned my eyes to Finn to ask him what's Luna doing in my room but he pretend as nothing happened.

I ran to my room to see what was going on.

"This isn't right! Why do a Fairy like me will be defeated by a mere undead like that!"

Luna was tightly gripping the monitor of my computer. She looks so depressed.

I thought that she was so drained that she can't even make a single move.

"One more time! One more time! Why won't you let me in!"

"Don't you dare destroy my computer!"

She lift the monitor and attempted to throw it. Thankfully she stopped after I shouted at her.

"Anzai! Thanks, you're here!"

"The monitor!" I shouted.

I was so relieved that Luna hadn't dropped the monitor. But after hearing me shout. She ran into me, she let it go dropping the monitor to the ground.

"Listen, Anzai! I already attack the enemy a million times but he still won't die! But even I use health and some resistance potion he still kills me with one-hit!"

Instead of being guilty about what she did. The heartless bitch keeps on shaking me and complaining instead of soothing my broken heart.

"He must have cheated! Right Anzai?! Right!?" She keeps on complaining.

But even how loud her voice is. It's like her voice was just passing through my ear.

I approached the monitor that was lying down on the ground with its shattered screen.

This computer was the only friend I have when I was stuck in my cramped room. It's the only thing that makes me feel sane after everything I've been through.

That's why seeing it like this really breaks my heart.

I feel its warmth with my palm. It's too warm, probably because it's about to overheat by being used too much by this girl.

"You've done enough. It's time for you to finally rest."

Even though it hurts, I gave my farewell to my buddy.

CRACK!

Huh?

"Wait, Anzai! Are you even listening to—Ouch! What are you doing! It hurts!"

I was having my moment when this girl stepped on the computer.

How can someone be so heartless?

I pinch her cheeks as hard as I can.

"If you don't stop this I'm going to blast you! I'm serious!"

She threatened me but my expression hadn't changed one bit.

"Why are you blaming me! It's that game event's fault for frustrating me!"

It feels like every drop of my strength leaves my body.

I can handle any arguments with anyone but talking to her always makes me feel defeated.

"Just shut your mouth please."

I stop pinching her cheeks and drop my head.

I have a big problem right now and now this girl was giving me another one.

What I did earlier was my own will, but at least repay me by being the good heroine that you're supposed to be.

"Anzai, sorry for what I did."

I was so down that I don't want to move my head. But for some reason I still did.

Raising my head to look back at her, what I saw wasn't dumb Luna. But a gorgeous young lady, that beauty shines in this dark room.

She was tilting downward in her right shoulder like she was trying to get a glimpse of my gloomy face.

I can feel the purity in her eyes upon crossing it with mine.

No this isn't real.

How can it be possible for her to instantly melt my heart?

"No don't mind it, I can replace it anytime," I said.

My hand was squeezing my legs to force myself and said that.

If I can have this kind of ability, I can easily close a deal no matter what stupid things I'll said.

"No. Let me apologize."

Please stop! I don't think I can take it anymore!

That thought was resonating in my head.

She bows her head to show her sincerity.

"I know there are so many important things in that computer especially those with long titles that I can't understand in the browsing history—"

"Get out!"

.....

The shorthand of the clock strike at seven. The food I was cooking was finally ready to serve.

Luna's eyes sparkle upon seeing the steaming fried egg with crushed sardines. Apparently, they haven't eaten anything ever since this morning because they have to travel before dawn. Lunch was a no too cause Finn was sleeping and Luna was hooked up into playing games.

That's why she's so excited.

Finn walks to the kitchen to get rice for himself and his sister.

When Finn goes back, Luna quickly grabs the plate and starts eating even it's still streaming.

"You're not going to eat." Finn sat down in the chair and ask that.

"Ms. Hera treat me so I'm already full," I said to him.

Finn drop the scoop of rice he was holding.

"How can you forget about us," Finn said then squeeze his chest.

I narrow my eyes in irritation at what he said.

'I don't want to hear that from you.'

In my mind, but I just keep it inside.

"I didn't know that canned sardines can be this tasty!"

Her eyes were closed like she was savoring the taste of what she was munching inside her mouth.

"Your compliment won't soothe my heart even a little. So just shut your mouth and eat!"

"Eh! You're still angry with that? Sometimes you need to accept failures and any negative things that will happen to you. And just keep on moving forward."

I don't want to hear that from someone who broke a computer monitor just because she can't beat a game.

Honestly, I was thinking of putting laxatives in that food to get my revenge on her.

Wrecking my precious computer and seeing a secret of a shut-in like me, even you don't understand what, it was still killing me from the inside.

"Your right!" A bright smile shines across my lips that made them pause from eating.

"W- What's wrong with you?!" Luna was the one who pointed it out. She probably thinks how disgusting it was.

But I didn't listen to her and proceeded with my objective.

"Luna, you've been one shot by an undead like that? But an inferior being like me can defeat it with just three attacks. Well, I'm not saying that I'm better than you cause it's pretty obvious that I am."

Luna was pouting her cheeks while it was currently bright red right now.

"Maybe a superior being like you was simply no match for an undead like that."

Luna stood up unable to endure the irritation she's feeling.

That's right seeing you like this was the only thing that will relieve me.

"I see! You just want to irritate me, weren't you! Well unfortunately that wouldn't work cause I've crushed hundred of skulls today! Isn't that right Finn?!"

"Oh really? I didn't notice at all."

Luna whose trying to retort by saying the things she did today. She also asked Finn to support her claim. But I guess big brothers were the same no matter what race it is.

Luna's face saddened after her brother abandoned her.

"What do you mean by you didn't notice when I'm the first one to charge into them!"

Luna slams her hands on the table in frustration.

"Really I was probably looking in other direction that time. The only thing I saw was you standing behind while Hera and Siege were enjoying themselves fighting the undead."

Luna was about to burst into tears but I don't mind her.

Instead, I change the subject.

"I totally forgot that the Dark Ruler has an army of undead."

Before, there were reports about skeletons riding black horses. But unlike the dragons and those crazy demons. I didn't get to see a real-life undead.

"I didn't remember fighting that much of undead. He probably foresaw that he'll be defeated that's why he didn't dispatch all his army. I don't know what but I'm sure that until now his generals were still carrying his plan."

So even without his presence his general still followed him. Just what kind of leader this Dark Ruler was for his comrades to trust him like that.

Luna, who's just standing there pouting, puts down her plate and takes the bowl where the cooked egg and sardines are placed.

"Both of you! Your the worst!"

She turns her back at us.

Her feet were moving away from us but she suddenly stopped. Her face looks pale while she's looking at the wall on the left side of the dinner table.

A familiar soft and small ringing can be heard from that direction.

"Stand back!"

The sitting Finn stood up and yell at us.

I don't know what was happening but I forced my legs to rise up.

BOOM!
