I tossed my clothes to the laundry basket.
"I'm going to take a bath first before eating."
"Yeah!"
I get the towel then enter the toilet.
It took me a few minutes before I fully wet my whole body. Actually, it took me quite a while before taking the first one. I only take a bath when I'm going out, so I'm not used to taking bath early in the morning.
After taking a bath, I headed to my room, grabbed my old uniform then put it on.
I stretched my uniform and looked at the gap between it and my skin. It was a perfect fit for me before but now it's bigger. It's much more comfortable though since It's much more breathable.
I get my old bag. There are no defects on it and it doesn't seem to rip any time soon. Inside it was my old notebook.
I took it out and ripped the writings on my old notebooks. Only a few pages of it had been used so it's still usable.
I headed to the kitchen to eat breakfast.
There's my self-proclaimed butler eating the remaining sardines that I saved last night. It's bothering me why he is eating that when there's a fried egg on the table that he woke up early to cook.
"Wise decision, young master."
"Would you cut it out already!"
I pulled the chair and sat.
I scoop some rice and half of the egg he cooks.
"You don't need to cut it off this Luxurious food was all yours."
Luxurious food? You mean this plain fried egg.
I get my fork and get a portion of the egg.
...
"Cough, Cough, Cough. What the heck is this!"
I coughed hard that the egg fall from my mouth.
The fried egg was too salty I can even hear the grains of salt, cracking in my mouth. I flipped the egg and the bottom part of it was burned black. He just purposely make the cooked part front.
I should have known.
"Fried egg obviously." He said without even caring about me.
I slammed my hands on the table.
"It's too salty did you put a whole tablespoon of salt in it! And why the other part was burned up while the other wasn't!"
After I said that Finn stand and start talking.
"I'm not stupid you know! First, you don't have any proper measuring tools so I don't know if I put the right amount or not. But I didn't put a whole tablespoon, just half.—"
What?
"—And for some reason, the oil that I put in the pan dries up. Maybe it's because the pan has a small hole. This pan was pretty old you know. So don't blame me because of your-- Hey don't get my sardines that's my share!"
I scoop the sardines on his plate and get back to eating.
I lost hope in him. Why did I even hire a butler like him?
Finn was trying to take back the sardines that I snatched on him. But my plate keeps on evading his spoon.
"Hey, I've got a job for you today."
Finn stops what he's doing. He looked at me and ask me a question.
"Huh? What is it?" He asked.
"Contact our other client and ask them if they want to buy the remaining bombs. Also, tell them I'm giving a 40 percent discount if they'll buy all of it."
I instructed him what to do. I'm planning to do that myself but since he convinced me to go to school he has no choice.
He goes back to his seat.
"That's fine, but since they're your frequent customer. You should just give it to them since it was already been paid off."
"You said it yourself, being soft does not suit me. Besides I'm giving them a big discount so I know they will be thankful for it."
I said as I shake my spoon that was pointing at him.
Actually, I'm thinking of just giving it to them too. But I realized that I could still make a profit from it in addition to my savings.
"And also, I want you to find a buyer for all of my equipment. After that bury all of the ingredients." I continued.
"That's a lot of jobs to do. What about the place?" He complained.
"I can still use that place if I'm gonna build a new business."
"So you're serious about that. But you said that you only need to do business cause you're not going to go to school anymore. So, thanks to me, you won't worry about it."
That's probably true, but I don't want the money that I earned to go to waste. Besides doing both is insuring and challenging. So it's both.
And what do you mean 'thanks to you?
"Just do it. I know what I'm doing."
I just answer him with that cause I know that it will be a pain if I argue with him more.
Finn just nodded his head in response.
I noticed this earlier so I ask.
"Why there's still sardines didn't you eat it last night?" It's an unrelated topic but I kinda feel guilty if I eat the food that he saves.
"Hera gave me some of their adobo that's what I eat last night. It was supposed to be for the two of us but your busy watching so I eat it before it gets bad." He answered.
On second thought I shouldn't be guilty of anything I'll do to this useless butler.
I finished my breakfast and go on my way to school.
........
It's not too much trouble walking in the neighborhood since there's no one know who I was. I kept walking on the sidewalk along with the many people that were heading to their works or to their schools. The school I'm enrolled in was pretty far from here that's why I'm the only one with a different uniform along with the students walking.
When I reached the main road, I rode a tricycle to get to my school. While sitting inside, I kept on breathing in and out. If there's one thing I wanted, it's to get past this day with no problems.
I get off the tricycle just in front of the school gate.
Upon getting out, the students started gathering inside the covered court. The gate was still open though.
The sun warms my skin as I stand alone in front of the gate.
I forced my first step and the other steps after that.
Remember why are you here. To avoid Ms. Hera's wrath.
I finally entered the campus for a long time. I continued my step to the entrance of the covered court.
It was filled with students from every year level. Some students guided the others to their designated lines. Some of the students were still not on their lines and thankfully no one noticed me yet. I sneaked behind them into the corner to get less attention.
There's someone familiar near me but I don't think it's a good idea to approach her right now. We're not that close even before.
The bustling of the students, resonated into the room. The students near me talked about different topics but it's similar in a way. About how they wasted their entire summer vacation.
"Um. Can you tell me what grade your in so I can show you where your line is."
I turned to where that voice came from. She's someone I know, the student council president, Kirsten Canete.
At first, she just stared at me but the moment he get a good look on my face. She gasped and widened her eyes.
"What's wrong Kirsten?"
Another student tapped her shoulder. She turned around.
"It's nothing!"
She said that and face the student. But it's too late, she didn't take her eyes off me. She covered her mouth.
"Anzai!"
She finally said it. Even with all the noise earlier, my name had been passed to the crowd of students in the room. That gathered the attention of the students around me. Those who were near me stayed back. They have different faces but their eyes were all the same.
"Come on guys! Let's not delay the flag ceremony any longer!"
Kirsten tried to take their attention away but there are far too many students looking at me.
Should I run for it?
"The guy got some nerve showing his face again here."
"I thought he's already dead."
"Man! I'm so pissed!"
"Don't be! I think that's what he only wants! To piss us off."
Those are just the chatter I heard, many of them started talking while glaring at me, I'm just too far away to hear them.
Even though I'm an eyesore to them, no one actually dared to throw something. What I did last time really works for me. As long as no one physically attacked me, I can handle their trash talks and their gazes towards me.
Upon the silence around me, I can hear footsteps that seem like running close to me. She stopped and panted.
"Thank goodness… I made it… in time…!"
She said with small pauses between her lines.
I kept my eyes away from them into the pillars.
"Woah that girl's freakin' hot!"
"Yeah! Especially her hair!
"Is she for real!"
I'm expecting to hear more harsh words coming from them. But their subject changed suddenly. I looked back at them and saw their eyes staring in my direction but passed through me. Pretty much all of them froze as they looked at the girl around me.
I'm curious as well on whose this somebody who outshined me. But that's not my priority right now. I sneaked into the crowd and headed to the other entrance to escape.
"Anzai! Here!"
Crap it's her. A familiar voice of a sly woman who uses her womanly charms to wrap me around her little finger. The very woman who put me into this mess.
"Anzai!"
You picked the wrong place for the reunion. You know my case so stop calling out my name.
The exit's already close. But these people are making this difficult for me to move. I squeezed through the crowd, bumping shoulder to shoulder. Every time I do more and more people find out about my presence. This heavy atmosphere almost presses me down that I need to put all my might in every step. But hope comes to view as the light of the other exit shined through me.
