On his way to the trial site, Rada sighed silently.
(Mmm... I don't know what to say)
In front of him, Rei and Logar walked in silence without a word.
He found this atmosphere somewhat awkward.
Father and daughter, Who looked like Beauty and the Beast to the eye, both looked like someone who had taken on all the problems in the world.
"Um... Rei is there anything else I need to know about this trial?"
He tried to break the awkward silence.
Rei turned to him almost surprised, she seemed absorbed in her thoughts.
Shortly after, she nodded and replied, "Yes, although we are in teams, we will all initially leave separately. It will be up to us to try to get together as soon as possible."
Rada wrinkled his nose for a moment and cursed, "Damn!"
"You don't have to worry about that" Rei smiled at his reaction.
She felt much more comfortable since she was able to vent, she was more relaxed when talking to him.
"Our team has two advantages!" she stated smugly.
"Oh yeah, and what would they be?" he asked.
"Number one, we have Kiba. I think it's no problem for him to track," the girl explained, noticing a reaction from the pup.
"Hey, do you take this prince for a damn tracker dog!" Kiba gritted his teeth.
Rada ruffled the soft little head in his arms, (Eheh! Come on, don't be like that!).
Even when he was angry, he was beyond adorable.
"Tzè! Stupid humans!" the puppy exclaimed.
He decided to ignore them for the rest of the trip, going back to snoozing.
Rada smiled and continued and stroked his soft little head.
"What would be our second advantage?" he asked again.
"You."
Rei pointed with her finger towards him.
"Me?" replied Rada in surprise.
He pointed his finger at himself, blinking continuously in amazement.
"In what way am I supposed to be an advantage?" he asked again.
Rei turned around and restrained herself from laughing even before she spoke.
"No one knows what you're capable of, no one knows what to expect from you, you're a total mystery," she stated with a slight smile on her lips.
"Eh, in a nutshell no one expects anything from me!" the boy ironized.
"I'll do my best, although I've never hunted in my life, it makes me a little hesitant actually..."
In his world, there was no need to hunt, this somehow worried him, he had no idea how he would react.
Rei turned to him surprised, even Logar broke his impassive expression for a moment, however he continued to remain silent.
"You never hunted?" asked the girl.
"Yeah, my country is quite peaceful, we have cattle, so there is no need to hunt" Rada explained simply.
He knew that he had explained the way of life of the people of his world, father and daughter would take him for a fool.
"Oh, I see now, your country must be quite strong" Rei thought aloud.
"Why do you say that?"
"It's very simple, livestock must be safeguarded, a country must have a lot of strength to be able to protect it from external factors" explained the girl.
Rada began to understand what she meant, in a way Rei was right. As extraordinary as it was, Aurora's world was still in some ways not very advanced compared to his own.
Continuing to walk, Rei explained what the plan was. That is, once the test started, their team would be reunited as soon as possible thanks to Kiba's nose.
"Not all the participants will try to come together, some, like Alcas, will go hunting alone thus proving that they are the most deserving" explained Rei with an irritated tone.
Rada listened to all that Rei had to explain, nodding at times.
Time seemed to fly, indistinct voices began to be heard.
"We have arrived" Logar finally opened his mouth.
There was quite a crowd, to see the village it didn't look like it.
Rada began to feel some tension, he tried not to give it away though, silently took a deep breath.
"Oh? Head of the Bran family!"
People on all sides sent, their greetings towards Logar, who silently nodded towards them.
"This way," said Rei.
The girl without hesitation, but with a slight tinge of pink on her cheeks, took Rada's hand and they parted from Logar "Come!"
As the head of the most important family in the village, Logar was required to serve on the jury.
Rei and Rada, on the other hand, walked over to the staff and announced their names to them.
"Rada and Rei am I right?" A young collaborator, guided them towards the place where the other participants were.
"Ah thank you!" replied Rada, while Rei simply nodded.
As they reached their destination, before them was a large group of boys, Rei immediately noticed someone who made her face darken.
"But look who we have here, our Rei and the parasite that resides at the elder's home."
Not far from them, Alcas made an appearance.
"Parasite?" Rada made a surprised face.
"They don't know...?" he asked in a whisper.
"No, only we know," the girl slowly shook her head with an exasperated expression.
If the elder had announced it publicly, surely now Alcas would not have had the courage to come and start a fight. He did everything in a hurry, as discreetly as possible; Rei had no idea what was going through the elder's mind.
Alcas approached them along with his group.
"You got it last time, rest assured that in this trial I will settle my debt!" almost head to head against Rada.
Alcas' threatening eyes did not bode well, a suffocating air could be felt around him.
"Oh? And You came all this way to tell me, really, I'm touched by so much regard for me!"
Rada very simply ignored Alcas' threats, rather putting more gasoline to the flames.
Indeed, in not even a second, the aura surrounding Alcas grew even heavier. Around him, small, flashy electrical discharges began to appear.
Everyone present, took steps back, taken aback by the scene.
"Impudent!"
Suddenly, the temperature suddenly dropped.
"This is a sacred place, where our ancestors laid the foundation of our village! And not a dive bar where you can put on a show with your shenanigans!"
Aaron Baum's imposing voice chilled the blood of those present along with everything else around them.
