----- ------ ---- --

And so, in the last remaining days Rada focused almost all his training together with Rei.

Especially in the use of the bow. Bow and arrows were of fundamental importance even on Earth. Well, up to a certain point in history, as the years went by they were replaced by more lethal and powerful weapons.

Rada had never used a bow in his life, in fact his first attempts were nothing short of embarrassing even to those watching.

"Stretch your bow more!" imposed Rei stiffly.

"I try, but it's harder than it looks!" complained Rada.

"No it isn't! It's all about concentration," explained the girl.

"Concentration?" he asked with a strange face.

"You heard right, it's not just about strength or aim, what you need is concentration. Take a deep breath..." Rei walked over to him. She gave the right position to take, her petite hands were positioned over the boy's, she tried not to get embarrassed. Ironically, she took a deep breath as well.

This did not go unnoticed by Rada, who in her own way avoided making the atmosphere even more awkward.

But contrary to what he thought, Rei looked at him for a moment, with an annoyed look. What strange creatures women were, in one way or another, always finding a reason to pick on you.

"Focus."

After a few seconds Rei spoke.

"On what?" asked Rada.

"On everything and nothing."

"Huh?"

The boy's dumbfounded expression amused Sister Bran enough to cause her to giggle uncontrollably.

"Let me guide you," she said after composing herself again. Her voice grew weaker, sounding almost like a whisper in his ears.

"Close your eyes, focus on the world around you, but at the same time you must not let yourself be distracted by it. The wind will tell you the way forward, listen to its voice..."

Rei's words, sounded like some sort of lullaby. He fell into a sort of trance. His mind was like a blank canvas being filled, before him, formed the clear image of the target to be hit.

"I see it!" he shouted excitedly, but tried to control his emotions.

"Now shoot!" ordered the girl.

The arrow formed a trail that left a perfect center behind it as it hit the target.

"Oh my god! Look Rei's got it! Woohoo!" Rada exulted in delight.

Without realizing it he embraced Rei who was petrified, her face turned red with embarrassment.

Noticing the girl's natural reaction, he let her go and took two steps back.

"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to..." he said.

"It's okay, it's nothing..." she replied, her face still rosy.

"You did good."

"I think it's more about you, your teaching methods stay in the head for one reason or another! haha!" was her way of lightening things up.

But the atmosphere didn't seem to take the turn Rada expected.

"My father was the one who taught me everything I know..." Rei's face seemed to darken, and her eyes seemed to be glazed over.

Rada was stunned. It had gone from a moment of embarrassment to a moment of depression in an instant.

"Rei?" he called, the girl seemed lost in thought.

"Ah? Ah yes, The lesson is over, I'll see you later" Rei replied, she woke up from the myriad of negative thoughts that lingered in her heart and mind.

She was about to turn around and leave, but suddenly she felt her arm being grabbed by a hand, it was Rada's hand.

Rei was much faster than Rada, he was sure of that, he had the feeling that if he had let her go now he wouldn't have been able to catch her. So he played in advance.

The girl was caught off guard once again.

"What is it?" There was a mixture of indecipherable emotions in her eyes.

Rada had no idea what was happening to her, as her eyes were reflected in Rei's beautiful eyes, she said only one thing, "Stay."

This simple word, might have sounded like a command in the sight of many, but the pleasant tone in which he said it, almost sounded like sweet poison in Rei's ears, and she found herself with no escape.

The two of them, found themselves sitting under the foot of a large tree, sitting next to each other.

After an initial silence between them, Rada opened the conversation by asking, "Rei, did something happen?"

Rei hesitated, her legs folded towards her chest, her arms around her and her forehead resting on her knees.

"Nothing happened," he replied.

Her answer caused the young man to let out a long sigh. "Something must have happened, otherwise the tomboy I'm used to seeing. wouldn't be acting like this" he tried to tease her, but Rei didn't respond to the provocation.

(This sounds serious) he thought.

Seeing the girl's silence, he took a deep breath and hugged her, voluntarily this time.

Rei stiffened as she opened her eyes wide, it was the second time she was hugged by the same person on the same day. Rada didn't wait for the girl to be able to wiggle out of it and put more energy into her embrace.

"Listen to me carefully, I have no idea what is happening to you, but I can clearly see that something is darkening your beautiful face. Don't let bad thoughts take you away..."

He didn't dare to look at the girl's complicated expression in saying that, otherwise he would have blushed too. His eyes were turned towards the horizon.

"No one is given to know what will happen in the future, but of one thing I am certain. Whatever happens you can always count on me, whatever happens, I will be there."

At that exact moment, Rada heard sobs coming from the girl's trembling body, who burst into tears soon after.

He let her vent in his arms as he stroked her head. Her expression was full of compassion, whatever was happening to her had to be something she had been keeping to herself for a long time.

Rei didn't mind the ticking clock, she stayed in Rada's arms.

In that moment, there was nothing but the comfortable embrace, in which she was.
