Chapter 1 - The Kings Bidding

Hi guys. Just wanted to say I'm doing a challenge where I start with no plan and I just jump into it. This means neither of us know what's happening next or what's happening at all. (Also I'm terrible at grammers) and iv never wrote a WN before) also this ch is a little of an info dump but it will give you the basics of the system) Srry. Also ch are a little short and I'm only posting once a week since I'm just starting and I wanna see what I'm used to. Das it

"It's a simple job really... I hire you and you get it done" He smirked, a grim dark type of smirk.

"So, you in or out?"

"Depends, how much we talking here?"

His smirk grew to a grin showing his full demeanor

"1000 V.X"

"Ho? 1000? Just for one? Fine, Where's the contract?"

"You sure? Once you get in there's no getting out, you should know this of all people"

"Of course I know this, how could I not?"

We sat there for a moment before he finally laughed and said

"Emotionless aren't ya? It's scary how cold you can be ya know that? No remorse nothing."

I rolled my pale eyes

"Just give me the damn contract already, I don't want to be here in this waste of a bunker any longer, it reeks horrors"

He laughed once more, a fake laugh. The kind you'd always see anime characters do before they showed bloodlust.

"Fine, Fine" He waved his hand as if he where waving the million other distractions he had away.

"Your target is a man named Azimari Nakukoto, he lives in Raylands, Highway 7 to be exact." I raised a suspecting eyebrow

"Are you testing me?"

"I'm not called a King for no reason kid. If you want out this is your chance, but if you want that 1000 you better shut up and listen"

Kid? I may be half his age but I'm still no kid. I glared. He Smiled.

"Your really gunna make me do this aren't you? And you say I'm the cold one? This is a whole new level of cruel"

"HAHAHAHAHA, cmon now man no need for competition! We both know who wins in the end anyways!" Him. Definitely him. In fact I'm not sure there's anyone in the world as cruel as him. "So? I say it again. You in or out? Last chance." Glaring I reluctantly agree for 2 reasons.

1. If I can get that 1000 successfully I can live leisurely for a couple months at least.

2. Getting on the side of a king can give me a huge boost in the long run much less M, getting his back up is basically a 100% win in any given situation.

"So where's the contract?" We can't go any further in this deal if you didn't bring one."

As he exaggeratedly gasped pretending he's hurt I brought out a small knife.

"I can't believe you'd think I wouldn't bring one, and here I thought we where friends!"

"Oh shut up with that fake cry and bring it out already" he sighed.

"No fun" mumbling to himself as he snapped conjuring the circular-like device out of what looked like mid air.

"An 8 person contract? Don't Those cost tens of thousands?" He shrugged as if it wasn't an item people would kill for.

"What can I say? A small price to pay for someone like me." This arrogant little...

"Whatever, Just sign it already so we can get this over with. I wanna go home and this rotting prison of a basement isn't exactly my ideal residence." Regretting my sentence almost immediately after when his slightly fake tears turned to huge fake ones.

"SHUT UP!" My hand was already bleeding from the cut I had made on my index finger. "Did you sign it already? I don't have all day ya know."

"Yeah Yeah whatever" suddenly a cut the same size as mine appeared on his thumb.

As the dark red liquid I had come too know far too well dropped into the little vent on the side of the device the screen like circle in the middle turned a bright shade of red filling the once olive green with a now hazy red.

"It only took you 3 hours" I grumbled as he passed the now red device to me. Dropping my blood into the the opposite vent The blurry red turned into a solid color and shade of a dark stained red.

"Anddd... Contract complete! You better get going, Karma."

"Ho? What's the deadline?"

"Friday 3:00 PM sharp no delay."

Well no sh*t if the contract extends past due the signer dies an hour later. This means if I don't get it done in exactly 2 days and 4 hours I'll die at 4:00.

"Well then, I better get going"

"Indeed, I'll see ya around Karma, I have other things to attend to"

"Council meeting?"

"You betcha! Wow your so smart!"

"I'm 23."

"Still smart!"

He stuck out his tung and closed left eye point both hands in a classic finger gun formation saying "M out!" Before disappearing leaving a pill of dust, an abandoned building, and a 23-year-old assassin. Sighing I picked myself up from the wooden crate I had been sitting on for the last hour.

"Well, I better get started."

Karma was a 7-Starred Assassin. One of the best. The rank went from 1-10, 1 being someone who can beat a wolf 1 on 1, and 10 being someone who can wrestle governments and army's. There where only 7 10-stars however. These people where known as Kings. Eventually, they came together and formed the council. M was one of them. You could say he was very skilled in strategy and... other aspects. Karma was a 7-star. This meant that he could fight a few thousand 1-2 stars and win. There where only a couple hundred 7-stars around the globe making him a valuable asset even to a king.

"Well, I better get going. I got a lot of planning ahead of me." There where 3 steps to being assassin.

1. Plan, this meant finding a strategy to take them out quietly and efficiently.

2. Predict, this meant preparing for anything they may have to counter you and stop it with your given materials before hand.

3. Strike, this was the final and only physical action you take where you kill the target.

After this it was up to you weather you hide it or not. The reason Kings hired lesser stars was not because they couldn't do it just because they didn't have the time or didn't want to waste there time on them.

"Raylands... highway 7 know less"

The Raylands was a city to the north-east of them. It consisted of poor and rich. You could measure there wealth by what highway they branched off. 1 being the worst and 13 being the best. Highway 7 was around the middle making it about average/slightly-rich. This also meant the more rich you are the better security you have making this difficult. It also meant they had the materials to be quite strong themselves. Karma gritted his teeth.

"Damn it M, you gave me quite the assignment didn't you? Hehe... well this will be interesting." This assignment might force me to use my talent. If so it would only end in blood. Karma looked down at his hand seeing the red diamond that looked like face paint you'd wear as a kid. Sighing, he he looked at the door frame made of unpainted old concrete. It was cold, really really cold.

"I wonder how key is doing right now, well no need to wonder there probably waiting for the mission right this moment. Anyways I gotta get outa here it's already been 10 minutes since M left and I hadn't even taken a step.

"Finally get to get out of this wasteland" while passing through the unusually large frame I was met with the winding medal steps that I had descended from just an hour ago.

"No time to waste, let's finally start this project, Key."
