Chapter 2 - Exploration of a new City

Hey again, it's el author sorry to bother you but I'm going to try to publish longer Chapters and I'll try to upload on Fridays and Mondays to. Maybe Wednesday depending on how I handle it. Any suggestions about this book would be appreciated.

"First of all, we need to know the layout of the property you're stepping in. Second of all I'll need to research what kind of talent and materials he has access to." It was 12:31 AM and I had just met up with key.

"Alright but get it done by today we're carrying out the plan at dawn." key was the mastermind of the team.

They'd do all the planning and preparation telling me what to bring and expect. For this reason they got 50% of all currency we make. 1000 is enough to last a year but since we split it both ways it'll last us each 6 months.

"Fine, although even without thoroughly inspecting him I can dig up he's a shooter. I recommend you bring nano-gear version C."

"Nano-gear eh? I'll go to the utility spect, see what we have. If there's nothing you can find me at sci's place"

"Mhm alight go now I'll go do my thing. We meet back here at 4"

"Alright alright!"

The utility spect was on the bottom floor of the circle. Our meeting spot was on the 4th.

"We better have nano-c I don't wanna pay that women anymore than I already have" I grumbled. Sci, she was the nearby mechanic and while she made incredible equipment she practically scams you.

Walking down the hovering staircase surrounded by an exotic aquarium that if broken, would probably cost thousands to repair.

"Finally the utility spect," the large rectangular box made of shiny steal reflected In every possible way blinding karma for a second.

Inside there was just about everything you could think of, cyber-guns, Neo-daggers, nano-bots.... damnit.

"150 and I'll give you a B-rank"

"150?!"

The utility spect was empty when it came to Nano-gear. in fact, we had basically everything but nano-gear, C no less.

"That's the deal take it or leave it"

...

"Fine I'll take it but your seriously going to make me go broke ya know that?

She winked

"That's my job!"

Glaring at her I sighed.

"Alright, when will it be done? I need it by 4:00 and since you just spent what seemed like the last hour scamming me you have 3 hours to get it done."

She rolled here eyes

"Yeah yeah princess I get it, I'll have it done by 3, until then you go do your princess thing, and say hi to key for me," She waved me out without another word.

"Well while that's getting ready I'm gunna go grab lunch" as I stepped into an elevator that brought me up to the surface I opened the door find I had landed in a abandoned mine.

As I walked up passing dirt, stone, and occasionally coal, I had reached the top finding myself in the side of a hill near a large dome. Walking towards it I realized it was a market where I could get food.

passing through the markets filled with thousands finally spotting a little sandwich shop on the edge of the square despite it being i giant round dome.

"One 6-inch-turkey-special please"

"Would you like cheddar or a mix of everything?" Karma started sweating. A mix usually cost more but only by a few cents… but cheddar was also really good…

"Uhm sir?"

I looked up. Cmon it's not that hard to choose…

"Which has more protein?" I asked,

She sighed.

"Sir this is a sandwich place."

Right right uhmmm…

"I'll have… the cheddar?"

"That's a question?"

DAMNIT KARMA! How do u always mess this up!

"Yeah?"

"Okay? Anything else?"

"No Thankyou."

F*ck I really wanted prosciutto too. Why do I suck at socializing!?

"Thankyou for ordering, that will be: $.03 V.X, your meal will me ready in 5"

Alright, it had already been 45 minutes since I met with key meaning they probably had some new info.

"Alright Thankyou"

I slowly walked away to the nearest bench secretly crying inside. M, how do you do it?

Whistling, I called a white crow near me.

I tried to be as unsuspecting as possible but when an albino crow flutters down to you it's kind of hard to not draw attention. The crow landed on the table and I gave of the look of curiosity while secretly relaying my message.

"Scout Rayland highway 7 and look for a man named Azimari Nakukoto, I want you to look at his patterns and where he works, try to dig up his exact routes, that's it" I waved him as if I didn't want him near me

"Sorry"

The bird nodded quickly and raised there wings and lifted themselves off the ground fluttering away. Albino crows where the S.A.A's symbol.

While the world governments didn't know this albino crows would do an assassins bidding as long they are rewarded accordingly. They where specially trained with

nano-transmitters scattered throughout there body making it easy for them to recognize anyone from the organization.

The S.A.A (Secret Assassin Authorization) was known as the biggest threat to the government with them knowing the existence of the kings they hunted down anyone related to the program hoping to find how to eliminate them.

Any known Assassins would get a bounty making it difficult for them to go out in public. While the world governments new about the organization and its existence as a threat they did not know of the actual population of them nor there real power.

With this planet carrying over 60 billion people it was possible they had millions. Which they did. As a higher tier Assassin karma had access to the S.A.A's exact population count. 3,837,736 to be exact.

In the scale of things that may not seem like a lot compared to 60+ billion people but think about it like this, one in every 15 thousand people work for the organization. Averagely you meet over 300 thousand people in your lifetime on this planet. This means for the ordinary citizen, they could meet over 20 assassins in there life each one could kill you in an instant no matter the rank.

Karma, didn't have a bounty because he had never shown any evidence of him being there. He always brought all the necessary equipment to make sure he didn't loose his freedom on the surface.

If you get a bounty, especially i high one, you could very well loose everything on the surface and be forced to live in hiding going down to Asciara, city of the assassins, for the rest of your life.

While this didn't seem to bad as long as your comfortable, remember safety prioritizes over comfort for the assassins. This meant that even though Karma was a top ranked assassin he wouldn't even get all the natural comforts you get up on the surface.

"Your sandwich is ready!"

Looking over Karma saw the black haired lady walking towards him.

"Thank you!"

It was 1:10 and the sandwich had finally arrived.

"Hehehe… and it came with chips!" Chips… a master piece if I don't say so myself. Down in Asciara you couldn't find such luxury's. By the way where am I? I never set the elevator to anywhere specific just letting it take me somewhere hoping there's be food nearby.

There where 100 elevators in Asciara each with high quality technology allowing you to go almost anywhere in the world. Thanks to this it was a popular transportation system amongst the citizens there.

Finishing up the sandwich and it's chips I picked up the plate bringing it over to the section where you return utensils.

"That was really good! I'll make sure to come back!" The woman smiled saying thanks.

Alright its 1:20 meaning key should have some information by now as well as that crow.

Walking past the stalls filled with tempting items and treats I found my way out finally getting a real look at the giant dome.

It was all triangular glass with silver metal beams holding the pieces together. The glass was tinted a greenish color making the light that entered the area very soothing. Like a premium night mode you could find in the settings if your phone.

Above the entrance of the dome there where giant letters that Karma wasn't sure how They missed before.

"I let the hunger get to me didn't I?"

Sighing in disappointment of myself I looked down near my feet frowning. I gotta fix this.

Looking to each side you could see the moderne city bustling with citizens.

"Population: 210 million… quite a large city."

Turning make to the small almost unnoticeable mine I had emerged from I sighed.

"It's about time I head back" walking towards the little hill near the edge of the city I silently climbed into the abandoned mine that people seemed to forget about, but before I leave…

I whistled. The albino grow with its scarlet red eyes and all its chubby glory came flouting down as if it where descending from the heavens to help me.

While key told me the exact place to go I wanted to know the place myself. This way, it will be easier and smoother for the both of us.

"Did you scout the routes and paths of the place? The crow nodded releasing to paper bad from its claws. Inside there was a hard drive.

"USB-Y!"

This type of usb you could hook up to your brain with the right equipment, when done so you would directly learn the information inside. Weather it be a foreign language, martial arts, or map like the back of your hand. However they where in readable expensive costing Karma 200 V.X

"I'm going to loose more money than I'll make at this rate…" Karma cried inside. Alright I'll get back to HQ and use out UTB Machine to hook myself up.

A UTB Machine was what was used to directly learn the information. It was a sort of chair with a lot of wires. Karma didn't really know how to use it but Key and Sci certainly did.

Probably because they where the only ones smart enough to understand it. Sci had told him once how it worked… it still gives me nightmares to the day. Karma shivered.

Any-who, I better get back time flys and it's almost 2:00. By now knowing key, they've probably already finished gathering data. And is just waiting for my arrival, plus I need to plug this in. Kama held up the USB.

Walking down the dark mines inhaling the most likely unhealthy air, I found the elevator. It stuck out like a beam of light in the middle of the night. The silver shiny metal down partially dusted with dirt and other fragments of earth waited forever my return still open.

Well it's about time I get back. Wouldn't want anyone worrying for me.
