While Sargon was watching the battle eating his dried meat, he was also closely watching the swarm. He was keeping an eye out for anything unexpected. He was wholly confident in their abilities despite his awareness. He has learned to always be aware in a battle no matter how confident you are or how weak the enemy is.
While watching, he saw Pharis materialize an arrow out of Astra and nearly choked on his food. "When the hell did she learn that! I never taught her that! Hahaha..., and I'm supposed to be the astral, shit. Guess I need to step up my game now." Sargon now sat with a thoughtful smile on his face.
After some minutes more of battling the swarm, a raptor cry could be heard. From the clouds, 5 etherite level rocs swooped into the swarm. They had targeted the biggest groups of tightly knit spiders with their huge talons. In an instant, over 100 spiders of the swarm were scooped up by the rocs.
"Well then, that's nature for you. Poor bastards, ha"
As the swarm began to retreat into the cracks in the earth that lead underground, Pharis and Yeseme advanced and attacked. While they were driving the swarm off, the ground underneath cracked and made a sinkhole. They feel into the sinkhole. Sargon shot up, "Damn it."
He ran and jumped into the hole after them. He was greeted at the bottom by Pharis, Yeseme, and thousands of red eyes in the darkness. The sinkhole was being covered by the spiders and they further made them fall by destroying the ground beneath them again. They were now deep underground in a massive web-filled cave system.
"Okay now, playtime is over, these fucking spiders are goners." Sargon was pissed off from falling so far underground. He is now thoroughly angered by the swarm.
"Sorry for tripping their trap Master.", Pharis said with a sullen look. Yeseme followed with, "I am sorry as well Sir Sargon, I shouldn't have gotten ahead of myself."
Sargon sighed, "I'm not mad at you two, I'm just pissed that these spiders think themselves clever enough to be my opponents. I'll kill every single spider I see from here on our way back to the surface."
"How will we find our way back Sir Sargon?", Yeseme asked.
Sargon responded, "I will use my sense ability to find a path back up. So I'm taking point."
They began walking through the tunnels. None of them heal back when they encountered a spider or spiders. They would kill the spider quickly and walk over its sad corpse. They continued ascending like this for hours. Behind them were blood-splattered cave walls and dead spiders. They hadn't kept count of how many were slain, but it was definitely hundreds.
Yeseme and Pharis were getting tired out after so long. Yeseme was getting low on mana for her magic martial arts, and Pharis was running out of astra for her arrows and infused sword. Sargon was still very fine and dandy. After becoming ebony level, is astra storage shot through the roof. He guessed it may have been a racial thing since he was not human.
Besides brooding, he was coming up with new ways to use astra after his fight with the Crystal Lizard and seeing Pharis materialize arrows. He was beginning to understand just how extremely versatile astra was as energy. His thoughts wandered to ancient heroes of earth and myths. He thought about all the things earth wizards claimed to be capable of.
Just when they were nearly out of the swarm nest, the ground broke again. When they stopped falling, they were in an extremely large cavern. He saw that Pharis and Yeseme were fine, but they depleted most of their energy cushioning their fall.
He turned and saw a big spider with a voluptuous female upper body at the peak ebony level. He said out loud unconsciously, "The fuck...?" He faced the monster with a surprised expression, thinking that such a monster exists.
Then it spoke, "I am Queen Kijira and this is my nest, and my children. You have been reaping havoc on my home and my children, so I have brought you before me to be punished!"
Sargon had just about had enough. He just wanted to leisurely explore the monsterlands, hunt, and improve his skills along with Pharis. Wasting time on a bunch of weak spiders and walking through this cave system has completely annoyed him. He was so done with the situation, he just noticed Kijira was monologuing.
"...I will make them suffer in front of you before they die. If you're submissive, I'll forgo torture and kill them quickly along with you.", Kijira then breaks into maniacal laughter.
Sargon didn't even respond to her little speech. He didn't want the fight to be drawn out, he wanted everything over with quick. He thought back to an earth wizard that claimed to be able to summon endless swords to smite an army. He was actually just crazy, when he tried to demonstrate on a battlefield, he failed and the general killed him for lying to the crown. At least Sargon now has an idea to settle this quickly.
He looked at his sword, a finely forged steel longsword. He knew it very well and decided it would be the basis of the ability he will try and perform. He turned to the naked Fijira, looked her in the eyes, and said only one thing firmly but without yelling it, "Deus Vult."
Then the room is filled to the brim with longswords. Fijira, Pharis, and Yeseme are all surprised. He raises his sword and points it to Fijira. Nowhere to run, the countless swords are thrust into her body until it is tattered, nearly mincemeat.
He turned to his companions, "Let us leave this filthy place. I long to see the stars after being in this skyless nest." He walked towards a tunnel and the others followed. By the time they stood upon the surface once more, the stars were out. Their moods had gotten much better then. they stood there looking towards the stars with a gentle breeze blowing around them.
On the way back to their cave camp, Yeseme decided to play, "So, I didn't notice any reaction besides genuine surprise and disgust when you saw Kijira naked. Do you not find a woman's body attractive Sir Sargon. She waited for his answer with a mischievous smile.
Sargon turned to her and said with a smirk of his own, "I do not find female monsters attractive Yeseme. It is not the same as not liking women that are human or of other races."
"Oh ho, pardon me for assuming.", Yesmem kept playing. "Then what's your type?", she asked.
"Healthy and not bad. It is a plus if she is also strong and beautiful too.", Sargon replied nonchalantly.
"Those standards are not super high, but strong and beautiful are a rare plus in this continent. Most men have to settle for either strong or beautiful.", she said.
"I am not most men Yeseme", Sargon said with a tinge of pride in his voice.
"That, I have learned Sargon, hehe.", Yeseme added before their conversation was stopped by their arrival to the cave.
Pharis was looking at the both of them with ridiculous thoughts from her interaction. "Hehe, if my ears and eyes don't deceive me, maybe Master and Sis Yeseme are getting closer.", Pharis said quietly with a ridiculous little smirk.
They entered the cave and ended their day to prepare for the next.
