Chapter 29 - Sunrise

After the battle, Heilgrash was having a little fit in her realm in the underworld.

"Damn incompetent bastards! Defeated by a single twinkling knight! Where the hell did he even come from. It seems he has only existed for a few months! There are no previous records of him before the Tragedy of Kesh. I can't gauge his power, feel his thoughts, or even peer at his soul. How is that even possible!"

Heilgrash was perplexed. She had dealt with people who have been protected by gods before, but never before had she been unable to peer into the soul even a little bit. Not being able to at least gauge his power herself was especially inconceivable.

"Among gods, I am one of the stronger ones. Ahnu, that chiseled old man wouldn't even be able to do such a thing, and he's the god of creation and order! Sargon Jupiter, the Starlight Knight, you're on my shitlist now. I'll fucking destroy you."

After Sargon closed his eyes to rest his spent body, his consciousness was pulled aside. He found himself waking in a comfy bed with God sitting by his bed. God greeted Sargon with a proud smile, "Good morning sunshine, how is my beloved son doing, hahaha."

"Good morning to you to God. This is a pleasant surprise, ad I am doing good all things considered. Hehe, I told you I would be victorious against them, evil god or not." Sargon wore a triumphant smile on his resting face.

"I never doubted for a second my child, but I still couldn't help but worry. You really gave it to them.", God said with his own triumphant smile. The smile turned a little sad before saying, "Are you thinking about the little girl that was sacrificed?"

"Yes, If I had been just a minute or two faster, she would be among the living instead of having her soul taken by Heilgrash.", Sargon said with a slightly dejected frown.

"Well well, about that Sargon. As you know, I spend a lot of time watching over Earth as it is a 100% divine world that needs concentrated and constant oversight. This prevents me from interfering with the other worlds I've made indirectly, directly. Although, since you have my blessing, I can exert some direct interference through you. So before Heilgrash completely devoured the little girl's soul, I was able to snatch and replace it with a pseudo-soul to fool her. I healed her soul, so she is as good as new. The girl's soul is actually with me right now, would you like to talk with her?"

Sargon was not expecting this development, but since it was a happy one he couldn't refuse. He wanted to see the girl he couldn't himself just to satiate his need to know she was really okay. It wasn't that he didn't trust God, but it would lift some weight off his heart. He replied to God, "I would love to see her God."

A little light started to fly around before stopping next to God. It then materialized into the form of the sacrificed girl that was no older than 11. She has curly brown hair, fair white skin, and green eyes. She said with a smile, "Hello Mister Knight! I'm Riva!"

Sargon smiled gently and introduced himself, "Hello Young Lady Riva, I'm Sir Sargon Jupiter. I'm glad to see that you ended up in the best of hands. I apologize for not getting to you sooner." Sargon's smile drooped a little when he said the last part.

Riva broke into a full grin, "It's alright Sir Jupiter, you still saved me. Maybe not my body, but what matters is that you saved my soul in the end."

Sargon's smile was uplifted by her words. He said to her, "Calling me Sir Jupiter is unnecessary Riva, you can call me Sargon. A pure soul such as you need not honorifics with me. I am at your service my lady." He bowed his head slightly while sitting up in his bed.

Riva giggled, "Yippie, I always dreamt of having a knight in shining armor. Well, since you're my knight now, I can't just leave you alone now." As Riva said this, God grinned innocently, but with a little mischief.

"As Riva said, she can't leave her knight alone to face, monsters, demons, devils, and evil deities.", God said. "Therefore, after consulting with precious Riva, we decided that she will become a guardian angel. Your guardian angel specifically. She will unable to be detected by anyone in Drasil. Only you can communicate with her and see her. She will watch over, in turn giving me authority in the world around you without me having to exert any effort. Not many souls are able to become angels, and I usually keep them in heaven to help me with Earth with the ever-growing population. Riva here is really a special girl, and I think you two are perfect for each other."

"Haha, I think so too Grandpa God. Sargon and Riva will become best friends, hehe.", Riva said enthusiastically.

Before Sargon could respond, God said, "Anyways, good job my son Sargon. You and Riva partnering up seems like fate to me. Now that you've set yourself on course to sail against the evil powers of Drasil, I am eager to watch your victories. You have plenty to do when you wake up, rest well."

As Sargon was thinking to himself, "Wait, aren't you in charge of fate...?" He blacked out and slowly opened his eyes again on a bed in a luxurious room with Pharis, Yeseme, and even Dexaril at his bedside and the latter sitting on a chair in the room. Riva suddenly popped up with her face right over his who said loudly and happily, "Gooood Moorrrnning Sargon!!!"

Sargon got a little startled by the sudden appearance of Riva since he was still half-asleep. Hime stirring then stirred everyone else in the room.

"Sir Sargon!"

"Master!"

"How are you feeling!?"

He was soon given water and some easy food to eat by Yeseme and Pharis. His companions were all happy he had finally woken up and was in seemingly fine condition. While he was finishing his modest meal, he received a prestigious visitor.

"Sir Jupiter! The heroic Starry Knight. Bane of Darkness, Slayer of Evil, Savior of the People, Noble One. It is a pleasure to meet you, I am Marquis Tristan Ophris, at your service my dear guest.
