Chapter 33 - The World Turns

After the banquet, everyone enjoyed the final days of the week on festivities.

Sargon, Yeseme, and Pharis had awoken in the morning to leave Fereldyn to return to the Knight Burrow. The tall homely hill hid in plain sight. Dexaril approached them packed and ready to leave himself. Where he was going was unexpected though.

"...You want to join us? What about your task force?" Sargon asked him with a wondering expression.

"The task force is over with since the threat has long passed thanks to you. Now I have no strings attached to me. I am no longer in the task force and I have permanently left Kesh for good. As for wanting to join you, the reason is simple. I like and respect you greatly Sir Sargon. I'm at a point where I must train in the real world to hone my magic and become stronger. Following you on heroic adventures and perilous daring is an excellent way to do that. Also, while you are a Knight Errant, you still have a house, your House of Jupiter. Hence, I will join you and be your House Magi."

Dexaril explained all this to Sargon energetically. Sargon fell into thought for a moment. He knew that he has a house as a Knight Errant, and he could take on a House Magi. He had no reason to decline a talented and powerful magic caster like Dexaril.

"Okay, I Sir Sargon Jupiter accept Magus Dexaril as my Magi. Come along then my friend, we quite the ways to go. Time to use a good movement spell because we move fast." Sargon said to Dexaril. He then led them out of the city after being seen off by Marquis Tristan.

Luckily, Dexaril had an excellent flight spell he could use. He was able to keep up and they all arrived at the Knight Burrow before lunchtime.

"Everyone, I think we should consolidate our abilities and prepare for another excursion into the monster lands. This time, we should be able to go deeper and temper ourselves much better than last time since we will be fighting stronger opponents." Sargon said to the group.

Everyone agreed with the idea so Sargon set a time frame, "In 4 months we will leave. We will return in time for Little Pharis's 12th birthday on Aurdil 29th."

"The goal for everyone in these 4 months is malachite rank. Dexaril, train diligently to become an arch-magus or as close to one as possible. Pharis, just focus on your horizon to become stronger. It starts a little slow, but the improvement pace picks up. All right everyone, that's all."

They dispersed to do their own task. Of course Yeseme and Sargon didn't forget to give each other a glance beforehand. Pharis didn't forget to have a wry smile as she skipped along after seeing it.

As he no longer had any pressing matters, Sargon decided to try and make an astral formation. The book contained various speculations, drawings and research into the ancient rituals of the past. He wanted the formation to be set up on top of Knight Burrow as it is a very tall hill. Naturally, he has a way to hide it from sight. He just needs to make some sort of array that will activate invisibility within an area. With his high astral comprehension, inventing such an array will not be too difficult. It did not take too long to create the invisibility array.

Creating an astral array is much simpler than making a magical array in a way. All Sargon had to do was materialize the array lines with astra. Then it works as a perpetual energy system unless it is interrupted. Only then does it lose astra and is depleted. This is because the array lines are all interconnected and flow into one another. By changing the tangibility of the astra slightly, it cannot diffuse into the environment anymore because it is in a closed system that is dimensionally cut off. The effect however can affect things outside the closed system. Only attacks and abilities capable of affecting dimensional energy can discern the array and/or disable it. He placed it at the hilltop.

Sargon was happy with his work and began working on the formation. The formation he wanted to make could be called a Starcatcher formation. A central dais will be added where he would sit to activate the formation. Since he had just finished the array in about 4 days, he waited to get started in the morning. Hence, he went out in the morning and came back with a bunch of huge stones he gathered. He cut them up according to his vision. The huge stones were all cut up into extremely small triangles. Sargon then made a stone circle made up of all those triangles. Then he four smaller ones tangent to four equally distanced points on the original circle. Then he made four pillars to go to the four smaller circles. These pillars were cylinders made from triangles and had a cylindrical through hollowed inside about the size of a fist.

Then he used a simple connection array to connect all the triangles together with astra after placing them to create a flow. Then a gathering array attracts the astra from the start. The central dais is where the astra will end up. With how the stone triangles were placed, it looks like a bunch of small smalls with the five circles. Circles intertwining, tangent to each other, and shifting while you change the focus of your eyes. After 10 days, Sargon finished the Starcatcher Formation. That night he decided to stay outside after dinner and try it out.

Royal Palace of the Juriel Kingdom.....

Within the King's study of the Juriel Palace, a healthy and handsome middle-aged man was thinking. His name is Roan Kanguis Juriel, King of the Juriel Kingdom.

"Sir Sargon Jupiter...Starry Knight. Mmmm, appeared in Kesh before the tragedy. No previous records of existence."

King Roan sighed while reading a report about Sargon.

"Dear Yeseme, the man you've taken a liking to is very mysterious. Was I right to let you out of my sight?"

He is troubled, never did he expect his tough daughter to express fondness for a man so soon after leaving his care.

"Whatever, all reports indicate he is a righteous person despite not having a recorded past or known origins. Time will bring him and my daughter to me if fate will have it. I must have some faith in my daughter and try not to worry too much."

King Roan then left his study after blowing out his desk candle to retire for the day.
