Sargon was now going to probably need to extend his stay. He was walking back to the inn to rent more days when his environment fell apart. Everything turned white before the environment was rebuilt as a flower meadow.
"Hello my son, noble Sargon."
Sargon turned around to see an old man. An old man he remembers very well to be God. He greeted him with a bow with his fist over his heart, a knight bow. "Greetings God. I am happy to see you again. To be honest I never expected to see you again until my death. May I ask about the occasion?
God smiled, "Pragmatic as always my boy, haha. Well, there is an occasion. Unfortunately, it isn't a good one. I've of course noticed that you will be taking on some forces of Heilgrash. A vile devil she is, a pansy compared with Lucifer though."
Sargon asked, "Is combating Heilgrash's forces such a danger to me? As I understand it, there are a few pantheons of deities in Drasil. Forces of evil deities being combatted by others are common. Why would my involvement cause a problem?
God sighed with a contemplative look before beginning to explain to Sargon many things about Drasil. "Listen my son, for you to understand why it can become a great cause of trouble for you, I need to explain some things. First off, I created Earth first before all other worlds. Second, you are an astral. Third, you are an astral from Earth. Earth being the first of all worlds is important. Magic doesn't exist on Earth for a reason. I directly crafted Earth and all life on it with my own hands. This means the entire world and all life on it is holy and divine. Which is why hell exists by the way. Evil and holy immortal souls shouldn't be left to roam existence."
"Which is why I am constantly watching over Earth. In my spare time, which is a lot, I indirectly made more worlds. Drasil is an indirectly made world. Instead of making angels perform duties for this world like Earth, I made a divine law that will give birth to little gods according to what is needed. Of course, none of them know this or know I exist, hehe. I gave this world free will as well and a heaven and underworld system for Drasil indirectly. The little gods created by the divine law also were given free will."
"This led to some little gods falling. Something I knew could happen, but I can't bear to create living puppets to prevent it. Heilgrash used to be the little goddess, Hila of Benevolence and Magic. Tragically, she fell and become Heilgrash of Sacrifice and Hex. Fallen little deities are obsessed with gaining more power to satisfy their desires. Your soul can give her that. Your immortal holy soul can give her the power she desires. Especially now that you have become an astral, a being that could become on par with my angels, who are stronger than the deities of Drasil by the way."
Now that God has finished explaining, Sargon was taking a lot in. "God, it seems like getting involved with these fallen little deities will paint a big target on my back. How could I possibly shrink away from evil though? I know that you know I fought my fair share of bona fide devil worshippers, not some pagans. I can't retreat from these cultists, from Heilgrash."
Sargon affirmed his intentions with God. God smiled happily, "You have a righteous heart, a strong sense of duty to stand against evil, and an iron will." God walked over to Sargon and put his hands on his shoulders. He said with a slight smile, "My son, child of mine, you wish to go into the den of snakes, approach the table where deceivers gather, walk into the abyss before it gets the chance to even stare at you. Fight a devil for the sake of good. How could I bear to let you whom I love truly go without my blessing?"
Sargon was a little confused and asks, "Blessing?"
God answered with a loving smile, "Yes, my blessing. I don't usually interact with creation anymore, but this is an appropriate occasion. I will grant you a simple blessing. I will give you the Blessing of Holy Shroud. Now the devil can no longer see your soul, detect its properties, or even know who you are unless she sees you face to face with her real body. Now you can fight against evil deities with no problems in Drasil."
Sargon was happy to receive such a useful blessing. "Thank you for the blessing. I will not disappoint you God."
"I know you won't, you're a 'Noble One' after all, hehe. Goodbye for now Sargon and godspeed." God then returned Sargon back to the streets of Fereldyn with a proud smile.
Sargon was walking beside Pharis towards their inn like nothing happened. The transistion was seamless, like he never left. He said nothing and continued walking to the inn. He rented a couple more days and set out with Pharis to look for leads since there was still ample daylight left.
They both started using astral sense to find anything peculiar. They visited the site of the most recent kidnapping to see if they can pick up anything. They detected the faint signature of a peculiar energy. It felt similar to mana, but it was tainted by something that made it feel vile. Using astral sight, they saw that the energy particles were a blue with dots of blood red and black. Mana usually just looks blue.
Now they had a lead. Finding them has become easier now that could recognize their energy and potentially trace it. It was fainter at previos sites, but was still present at them. This confirmed that the energy belonged to the cultists.
They scoured the whole city for the energy and remebering the places they picked up the signature. They decided to ivestigate them once they had scouted the whole city. They were about to investigate their first site to see where the energy goes to track the cultists, but they were called by a familiar voice.
"Sir Jupiter, Squire Pharis!"
Being called out, they both turned around. when they saw the familiar figure, they said together in suprise, "Dexaril?"
