Chapter 23 - Tyrant Horned Mastodon

Initially Alicia was already satisfied, but hearing Ebraham's word, she straightaway noticed the flaws on the image. Not just that the image was partially blurry, she also found that the characteristics on her husband were not consistent as if the image was a combination of the young and old Valerio.

It was easy to recognize the image as her husband at first, but after a long stare, the image gradually became alien in her perspective.

Alicia could not be blamed on this. Valerio was her childhood sweetheart, so she had known him for a very long time. When she recalled every detail about Valerio, it was her life-time worth of memory, either when he was young or until recently. Hence, a morph of all those memories created a new Valerio in Alicia's mind.

It was easier for human brain to recognized a face that they had already seen even if they only seen it once, compared to recreating that face from the memory. To a normal person, the difficulty of recreating a face from memory was akin of drawing a face without looking at the model. They might draw a human face, but not necessarily the face of that model.

Seeing that Alicia had understood the problem, Ebraham introduced the potion.

"This is Yesterday's Memory Potion. It helps you recall all of your memory just like yesterday. By drinking this potion and have Mind Projection Screen record your memory, you will have your complete memory in the form of data"

Alicia was surprised once again. with this potion, she could have a complete data of her memory. This was valuable to her.

Human memory was only so powerful. The image of her beloved Valerio was not the real Valerio she recognized. As for the faces of her parents and in-laws, only hazy images resurfaced when she tried to remember them.

With Yesterday's Memory Potion, she could clearly recall their faces.

More importantly, with the Mind Projection Screen showing a clear image of her memory, she could show the twins the face of their father and grandparents.

Previously she had thought that it was a disappointing matter since the twins would be growing up without knowing how their father looked like. But now it was no longer the case.

Just thinking about it had lifted the stone on Alicia's heart.

"But" Ebraham suddenly stressed, "by using this potion, I will also see your complete memory. This is a breach to your privacy. If you don't want to, you don't need to use this potion"

Learning this, Alicia also understood Ebraham's concerned.

But thinking into deeper layer, by showing her memory to Ebraham, Alicia also earned a trust from him. This would also help him judged her character.

As a simple villager, Alicia had lived an honest life and hold on with the principle of clear consciousness, so she was very confident with her history.

"Sir Ebraham, thank you for your concern. But I will also accept this potion. I want to show my babies the face of their father" Alicia readily accepted the potion.

In fact, unknown to Alicia, if it was only to judge one's character, it was unnecessary for Ebraham to use the potion. With his level in medical knowledge, he could understand one's lifestyle with just a glance at that person's body. As for one's personality and character, in front of Ebraham whose age spanned for more than a century, it was as if reading an open book.

What's more, now that he learnt to use soul word, he could slightly peer into one's soul while talking with them.

With him perpetually using his Domain, Ebraham would receive all this information even if he did not want to.

Other than helping Alicia recovered her complete memory, the potion was also his indication that he was trying to deeply understand her.

Since Alicia had agreed to take the potion, Ebraham's worry was lifted.

To consume the few drops of green potion, one could simply drink it. But it was not advisable to consume it while standing or even sitting since the side effect of the potion would cause the consumer to be light headed.

Both Ebraham and Alicia were currently sitting at the coffee table, so it was not a suitable place to ingest the potion.

Promptly, Ebraham raised his hand while conjuring a magic technique and immediately a stone lounge rose from the ground.

While Alicia was astonished by the sudden appearance, Ebraham ushered her to lay on the lounge.

"This potion will make you a bit light headed. When you see the flash of memory, do not fight it. Just let it end by itself" Ebraham said.

Understanding that, Alicia laid on the lounge and downed the potion.

Gradually, the colour of Alicia's eyes dimmed as she stared at empty space.

While the effect of the potion took place, Ebraham received the data from the Mind Projection Screen.

This was another drawback of the modified Mind Projection Screen that he had created. Since the magic circles were his own creation and was created using his Blood Obsidian energy, the information derived by the magic device was also transferred to him, the creator even after the Owner's Imprint was branded on the magic device.

This was also the reason why Ebraham had claimed that he could see Alicia's memory after consuming the potion. After all, he would receive the data without touching the Mind Projection Screen.

Although the potion made its consumer to recall a lifetime worth of memory, in reality, the process was over in an instant.

And in that instant, Ebraham had organized Alicia's more than 20 years' worth of memory. She was indeed a simple villager living a simple life. Only after being led by the string of fate did, she arrived here.

Since they were both led to this world by fate, they needed to support each other. After all, the experience from a fateful encounter is worth a lifetime. Depending on whom one met and one's action, it would be a major turning point of one's life.

While in real-time, the recalling process was over in an instant and the Mind Projection Screen had recorded all of that data, the same could not be said to the one experiencing it.

In that instant, the consumer would feel as if they had relived their life. Though the time flow in the consumer's mind when he or she was experiencing the relive was different depending on how capable his or her brain are, the consumer would normally be in daze for a several minutes to a few hours while reminiscing his or her memory.

Meanwhile, within the inner-layer of Sky Pillar Barrier, there was a lone ancient primordial beast with a towering height of more than 100m tall. It was struggling to move forward. Every step it took, shook the earth, leaving a huge crater on the ground. Long trailing of devastation could be seen along the path it had took.

This lone ancient primordial beast appeared to have similar characteristics of a mammoth, but it also had some differences.

The front of this ancient primordial beast was geared with 4 protruding horns and tusks, protecting its head. Each of this horn and tusk reach the length of 20m. If its horns and tusks were included, the total head-to-tail measurement of this ancient primordial beast was 125m.

Its whole body was covered with thick hairs. The strand of hair was at least a finger thick and the point of it was needle sharp.

Its most impressive feature was its mighty trunk. The muscle covered trunk was 20m in diameter and 100m long. It could reach any part of its gigantic body. Jagged teeth were hidden in its mouth under the big trunk.

However, the oppressive magical energy radiating from its body had eclipsed all of its other features. The value of magical energy alone could rank it as a Beyond-Dragon-Level ancient primordial beast.

The name of this ancient primordial beast was Tyrant Horned Mastodon.

He was the mighty leader of his herd, but currently he was separated from his herd.

More than 10 days ago, Tyrant Horned Mastodon had detected a trace of delicious delicacy while roaming the land with his herd. He was certain that if he could get this delicacy, his strength would increase multiple folds.

While Tyrant Horned Mastodon led his herd to hunt this delicacy, they reached a place with a powerful pressure. The weaker members of his herd could not withstand this pressure.

But Tyrant Horned Mastodon sensed that beyond that place, there were plenty of delicious delicacies. Much more than he could imagine.

So, he ventured forth into the pressure, leaving the weak members in his herd.

As they went deeper, one after another member of his herd forfeited from this endurance test.

Yet Tyrant Horned Mastodon persevered. The goal was just in front of him. He knew it.

But he could not get any closer than this even after staggering for so long. Now, Tyrant Horned Mastodon could only use one-tenth of his energy. The pressure on his body was so overbearing that even his muscular legs were shaking.

Suddenly, Tyrant Horned Mastodon stopped.
