So I tucked my arm around her shoulders as we walked to class. The intention behind that was to be friendly. Though even if no words were spoken, I could clearly hear her thoughts. That's when I came up with a conclusion to take it slow with her.Maya was her name and you probably noticed that she was shy.
I entered the class with anticipation and introduced her to the class.By that time I had already noted the good and the bad.Of course Cole was to stay far away from Maya. I just prayed to the heavens that she wouldn't get the welcome I received or worse. Apart from the usual greetings and Cole's unimpressive jokes I welcome her.
"Guys meet your new mate Maya Lou.She'll be learning with you please be kind to her."I hope they heard what I stated. Obviously nothing comes easy.I freed and watched her walk down an aisle between desks in order to reach her sit. The empty abandoned chair on the far right of the class. It went smooth until the time when she froze to Renée.
I chose to ignore that but they seemed to have known each other since forever.

3p.m- the hour everyone awaits. But some of the students decided to remain behind. Either they had plans or were in the library studying for a test. As for me I had no scheduled classes. Didn't mean I was free. An unfinished project remained waiting for me. Finally found a topic. Something simple and easy. Something that should be written keenly. The subject might as well be on shy kids.
Starting on how they cope, how they gain trust and the changes once they're comfortable.Maya was my chosen subject for now. Another coincidence might be the fact she was in the library with me. Who else accompanying her than Rouse. I wondered why they were together in the first place. Is it too nosey of me to get to know the relationship between them?
She laughed, giggled not forgetting the fact that her cheeks were ruby red from all the blushing. Cousins?Friends?Best friends? Or just a relative? Who was she though? Definitely not a coincidence that they came in around the same time.
What a surprise (not really)The petty full , oddly poised cheerleaders were suddenly roaming around the premises. The one some sought was the new angelic god. Poor Maya was robbed of her friend. In order to intentionally stub her emotionally. The girl was made invisible or safe to assume that Mr Rouse stole the spotlight. Or they just decide to be ignorant and turn a blind eye to her existence. All could be considered in the unfair treatment.
At first I thought of moving closer to her. A bit of interaction can't hurt, can it? The plan was later put off once I remembered the previous uncomfortable meet. I was indecisive whether to talk to her or not. My feet did the interpretation of my thoughts. By tapping constantly to the ground you could tell my distress. Meanwhile there was my left hand for no absolute reason playing with my pen.
Her head tilted slightly to the ground.Just to show her embarrassment. Under my eagle eye I watch her walk in between millions of books."Hey!"A hand slams my table.
"Miss Day,I see not a Mrs. Ay!"Ere he grabs my arm and checks my ring finger. Looks like someone never learns their lesson."What's it to ya?"I ask in discuss while pulling my hand away from him.I was angry and tried not to show it but my eyes said it all. I accidentally hit him with the death stare. He moved away from me.
" Jeez!Miss Day I was just asking"As if I cared a single bit of his words."Oh!My apologies you should have approached me with regular school work problems instead. Fun fact ,it actually helps. Want my assistance¿" I said while forcing a smile. Would he be gone already.
You know he was getting to deep in my nerves . Testing my patience. Not long after the statement ,he comes back with the,"Do you know who I am?"I ask,"Then who are you?" I should've known what I was getting myself into with that question. Should've thought twice before asking. Me and my big mouth was stuck on hearing a long lecture of the star of Wisconsin since the early two thousands. The great footballer ever blessed to the school.
I didn't want to add to my attitude. So I let him finish his statement .The sooner he does the better .
I must admit that ten trophies in a row is pretty impressive. Despite knowing the number of champion leagues this kid has participated in,I didn't waste my saliva on congratulating him. Serves him right to be proud. He soon finishes listing his achievements and leaves with his head held up high. I just nodded to his conclusion. He managed to leave me speechless.
Anyway back to what I was doing. Great! My luck. Maya had just vanished from my eye.
