Chereads / Sabrina Day:Dear Diary / Chapter 5 - Anniversary surprise

Chapter 5 - Anniversary surprise

Tomorrow is another day.At least I picked up some decent information from my research. I look around and pray that J Park didn't forget to pick me up.Almost two hours down the drain and he was no where near his destination.I had no other choice ,my car crashed but that's a whole other story. Funny how I'm reminded of the old times.Dad was master at never owning a watch. He was always late.

Just like deja Vu I find myself sitting on the bench at the front of the school. Nothing else to keep me busy other than my bag's handle. Talking of the devil ,J Park arrived. Some nerve pulling over the front of the school with his green car. Almost unmistakably similar to my father's action when I gave up on waiting for him.

"Thanks for waiting" He wasn't going to get a giggle out of me with that cute act.As long as he didn't forget about me, everything was going as planned. Time to dial down.By that I meant spending the rest of my day with Park."Ice cream,"He smile and hands me the cone."So how's your day , given up yet?" I am aware that he was joking but I was tired of hearing that phrasal verb enough times. To the Wisconsin park we go.

I recall the first time I met Park. Pretty sure it was a friendship-combination no one knew would work out. He was my opposite- shy and reserved. Meanwhile I was loud and outgoing. We were around the same lake we visited today. A school trip I presume. We were going on the infamous boat rides in groups of four. My then friend and a vivid memory of his ally.

The trip escalated quickly from peaceful to chaotic. A summary would be the fact we didn't get along. In the course of everything a heated argument broke out. Right now the cause of that fight might as well be dug far deep underground. We forgot the part where we were in the middle of the lake and on a boat. It eventually tumbled over from all.

Later on that day we regretted our mistake in the principle's office. We ended up reconciling with a soggy wet hug. Although the detention is still a reminder of the awful meet. A memory that lives freely in my head.

We crackled at the memory of it. The first time we met. Actually the thought of making an anniversary skipped our minds for the longest time ever. Not anymore.I mean it's not too late. Today on the 15th of this month can be our crazy anniversary."Cheers mate," I swear sometimes I time travel back in time to my younger self from a meer hang 'shesh 'with Park.

"Cheers to that" I reply while bumping our cone together in mid air. My head was at last freed from the worries. I knew that he would cheer me up. As I watched the overview of the ducks playing on the lake I hear a voice behind me. I miss the best part of all,the dancing ducks on the lakes."Miss.. Miss"the same voice called. It ran out of breath.

I didn't see the person calling out the name miss so I ignored it. I kinda assumed that it could be someone else. The silence after a momentum confirmed my assumption. But not longer after the break I hear the voice again ,"Miss,M-miss"Whoever it was ,she was surely running out of breath. I suddenly feel a tap on my shoulder. Park didn't utter a word but communicated in gestured. I could finally spot a student from my class.

Slight possibility that I might be wrong but... Regina could be her name. She was coming nearer.I was afraid that she may trip. I give her credit for all that effort in order to reach me. Imagine running on a long bridge from the bottom up to the top where tourists and locals breathed fresh air. Must be tiring. Far more pain staking was yelling while running.

Completely understandable that she needed time to catch her breath. She was sent. I'm not sure by who. Clearly in my point of view she couldn't wait to deliver what she was sent to deliver. One could tell by the way she pronounced a word before wheezing uncontrollably. I only grasped the word "Miss' and the single lettered' I '.Later she made an effort and said,"Here from him"

She pointed out to the bottom of the bridge. By skipping every person (most of them being couples) I was able to disqualify and add alternatives for the male she pointed add. They were too many of them but trusting my gut was the only way to find out who. Must've been the tall silhouette guy with a great stature staring at us. I figured why else would he be staring at us if he wasn't the sender.

I can't be more confident that that.It was him I'm sure.I look back at the darling and spot a brown envelope in her grasp. She noticed it too and pulled herself together. First she started off with some dusting, second she tidied up,then made an electrifying steady eye contact and finally cleared her throat."Here, Miss Day,It came from him" There was a short pause for her to regenerate her thoughts.

Once she remembered, she added to her statement,"Miss... accept my apologies but the sender who sent me won't let me reveal his identity...Yes it is someone you know"

Well there was no more to state or ask for that matter. She was confident. A little more confident than I imagined. I could tell, Regina was satisfied with the way she delivered the message. I ,we were bewildered. Whoever this mystery sender is was very careful. I remembered his stature but his face, hair colour eye colour were all foreign and hidden. Frustrating is the word but also the mystery added some excitement.

I wonder what was inside. Don't expect gold because it was something like paper. Maybe a letter. What did it say? I hoped it had the sender's name written on it. Reminds me of the secret admirer saga back in highschool.
