Chapter 39 - Chapter 39.

Later that night...

Boku no me hitosu agemashou Dakara anta no me o...

Arman was singing his favourite song while he was tidying up his bed so that he could go to bed.

He seemed carefree.

But at the same time, he was afraid.

What if, Ali told dad about Eveline?

This question was bothering Arman ever since the day he fell for her.

But it appeared as if he wouldn't. Because if he had to do so, he would have done it a long time ago. But he didn't. Maybe he was thinking that he could take on Arman all by himself. But he didn't know that he didn't have the authority to do so.

Anyways, a little nuisance caused by his brother wasn't enough to spoil Arman's happiness.

Just as he was about to sleep, a thought hit his mind.

"Oh, yes."

**************

Eveline gave her head a sudden twist in the shower. This caused her hair to swing in a manner which made it look as if they were dancing.

As she was bathing, so that she could go to bed, she gave her hair many swings, and her hair also danced along.

When she was reaching out her hand for the shampoo, she seemed to have sensed something.

"How dare you!"

Eveline hurled the bottle of shampoo as if it were a knife. The bottle of shampoo headed straight towards Arman, who had come here to talk to Eveline about their relationship.

Arman fell to the ground right where he was standing. Afraid that he might further get beaten up, he stood up in haste, almost stumbling back to the ground.

"You-You are misunderstanding me."

Said Arman in a pitiful voice.

Eveline washed off the foam on her body and wrapped the towel around her body.

She then came out of the bathroom, very very angry.

"Get lost!"

She thundered.

Thinking that now was not the best time to talk to Eveline, Arman ran away.

Eveline decided that she would break up with Arman.

But then, she saw that a wallet was lying on the floor.

She bowed down to pick it up.

Apparently, Arman dropped it in a hurry.

Inside the wallet, was a photograph.

It was the photo of Arman from when he was still a toddler.

Including Arman Ali and Jamal, there were four boys and two girls.

She had no idea how the fourth boy and the two girls were. But seeing how the boy resembled Arman and Ali and how the girls looked like Jamal, she inferred that they were also siblings.

"6? They for sure are a big family"

Having a glimpse at the Arman who was still a child made all her anger dissipate.

"Now that I think about it, where did I keep my family photo?"

A drop of sweat rolled down her face.

These days, she was happy with Arman and had completely forgotten about why she came to this planet.

Her face looked like a haggard. She felt as if a bolt of lightning had struck her.

Even though lightning didn't really strike, she could feel the reverberance inside of her.

"How can I forgot about it????!!"

"BENNO--

HE'S COMING!!!"

***********

An unknown location, unknown time and unknown date.

A spacious hall, which was sealed from all directions and isolated from the dimension itself.

Many vampires were standing in a formation.

And beside them, a few vampires were seated on what supposedly were 'thrones' which differentiated them from peasant vampires.

And in the middle, a fairly big enough throne was placed. Seated on it was a vampire, who seemed above all others who were present.

The very manner in which he was sitting was emanating divinity and transcendence.

"What is it, that is so important that it requires my presence - the presence of Duncan the great to be solved?"

The vampire threw a question at the rest.

None answered. For, they feared the wrath of Duncan.

One of them mustered enough courage and spoke up.

"A holy shrine of ours was destroyed in earth, your holiness.

Duncan's face grew red.

"Nonsense!! Who was so fearless enough to

stand as an obstacle in my way?"

The tone in which he roared was very similar to that of the ideal tone of Adolf Hitler.

"Apparently, the perpetrators of the act were people of a tribe that lived nearby. But we haven't got enough information to deduce anything about those pagan bastards."

"Not a single piece of information?"

"Your holiness, before the shrine was destroyed, a vampire elder Dragos, stationed there sent us a message."

Duncan asked in a very curious manner.

"And the contents of it?"

"All it said was 'Arman'"

"Hmmm."

Duncan stroked his chin, falling into deep thought.

He then asked,

"What is Arman? Is it a weapon? Name of a clan? Or a special art of combat?"

The vampire Duncan was talking to patted the back of his own head and said in a hesitant manner, for he might anger the Duncan.

"Excuse me your holiness, but we have deduced that Arman is a noun, usually give to animate things, not to weapons or arts of combat. On further inquiry, I learnt that it came from a pershan (Persian) thingy and it means 'A commitment' or 'an unrelenting resolution"

Duncan then made an assertion, which was more of a question.

"Perhaps, it should be the name of the guy who caused the destruction of the shrine."

But then, the vampires heard a knock on the gigantic door of the hall.

Everyone was surprised.

This place was isolated from the dimension itself!

Even if someone invaded the land of the vampires, it was impossible to enter this realm. Only Duncan could open the gateway to this place.

Two guards carefully approached the doors and opened them.

And a figure of three humans was revealed.

The astonishment of vampires grew greater.

Prey coming in the search of the predator?

They didn't know whether to term it overconfidence or ignorance.

The human who was standing in the middle stood out of the other two. He was tall and masculine. A figure of jealousy for all men.

He snapped his fingers and asked a question.

"Do you guys know of a human by the name Arman?"

The vampires got curious as to how this human knew the contents of what they were discussing in here.

All of them were staring at the human.

And then, Duncan spoke, causing the vampires to shift their gazes towards him.

"Yes we know of a mutt called Arman. Perhaps, did he somehow offend you too and you guys are here to ask for cooperation?"

It was Duncan's habit making statements on things which he had little or no knowledge of.

Yet, he managed to get to a position where vampires worshipped him.

"Oh, then I am at the right place!" The man exclaimed. It seemed that he had ignored the later words of Duncan.

He turned back to the other two humans standing behind him and said.

"No doubt about this, these guys are after young master. Get to the work, I will rate you 6/10 if you managed to kill all of these vampires in five minutes."

These words caused a moment of disbelief amongst vampires.

Humans, only three, coming to hunt thousands of vampires? There was no greater joke.

Duncan's lips curled up.

He then said to the man.

"Kill all of us? Only with the three of you? Impossible!"

Though Duncan's words were straightforward, the man seemed to be confused.

He gave the other two humans a gesture to stop, so they put there weapons to back where they were.

He then looked around himself, searching for something, or, to be more precise, someone.

He then seemed to realise something, giving Duncan a subtle chuckle and questioned.

"When you said three, did you include me?"

The question was a bit confusing.

The human took Duncan's silence as a 'yes'

"Oh, sorry about that, I am here only to supervise. Recently, master mentioned that his son had gotten involved with vampires. He was quite angry that things were being hidden from him. But I saw this with a different angle.

Maybe, you guys would try to kill him. And what a coincidence. At the very same time, these new recruits were causing some nuisance for not being included in the elite force of our guild. So I decided to test them out. It would be like killing two birds with one stone. Now then, enough chattering. Time to fight. Charge!!!"

A big fight started.

Fin.
