Chapter 38 - Chapter 38.

6 days later...

'tttring tttring'

The alarm rang.

Arman woke up in a sluggish manner and stretched his hands in the backwards direction, pushing his chest forward.

He let out a deep breath.

After rubbing his eyes to make them feel fresh, Arman reached out for his cellphone.

When he unlocked it, his gaze fell on the date.

[Thursday]

[4 July 2013]

"It's been a long time, yet I haven't heard a word from them."

A week had passed since Arman had become a Killer. If his memory serves him right, then usually Killers are busy twenty four hours a day. They recieve atleast two commissions each day. And in his case, it was completely different.

"I should contact the support forum once. Maybe that will help."

*****************

Vladivostok, Russia.

The Vice President of the Killers' Association was seated on his chair in his cabin.

Just like any other day, this day was also a busy one. He used to work hard. So much that he used to return home at twelve in the night every day.

For some even busy people, working till twelve might sound like something insignificant. But the Vice President had a catch to him. Because after sleeping for three hours, he would get back to work, sharp at 3:15 a.m. Meaning only three hours of sleep.

And that is how it was.

Excluding the ammount of time spent during eating his meals, he worked nineteen hours a day.

But, he liked this very much.

He was enjoying his life more than anyone else on earth. It is as if letting a video game addict play video games at all times.

He was the likes of people, who loved their jobs and working was heaven for them.

In short, he was 'Workaholic'.

But recently, something has been getting on his nerves.

Arman, the son of the most powerful being in the galaxy, is spotted doing some business with aliens. And the president of the Association has taken a great interest in it.

And from there, his life had become completely stressful.

And then, the very guy Arman, shows up at the Association to join it.

Ofcourse there was some ulterior motive than to just have an adventure in other dimensions.

The King of Heaven might have some kind of a deal with the aliens and his son might be acting as a blacksheep!

They had to be very cautious of him.

But, they couldn't even kick him out.

If they didn't accept him, despite having cleared all the tests and fulfilling all criterias of eligibility, he would be suspicious that the Association is already aware of his and his father's plan.

So they made him a member just in name.

They wouldn't involve him in any of the activities related to the Killers' Association.

But now, he had written about it to the helpline.

"I have to tell the president about it."

He stood up and headed towards the President's cabin.

"Sir, you have to go through this!"

"Hmmm?"

The President was startled as the Vice President showed up while he was working.

He turned off the computer and received the printed copy of the complaint filed by Arman.

"Huff! You can't even handle such simple things." The President complained.

"Sir, this is not simple. He might have noticed our silence and might have thought that we have figured that we know of his rendezvous with aliens. Attracting the wrath of the King of Heaven means end of the Association!"

The president then

"That is true. The decision regarding this matter is very important. But that doesn't mean it is difficult. He wants to go on a mission, right? Send him on one. As for the fear that he might be hiding his strength and kill our men once they enter the battleground, that too can be checked. Deploy a Deathbringer on the mission he will be assigned. This way, we can easily counter all the problems at hand."

"But sir, won't he feel suspicious that we weren't interacting a lot with him at the beginning and we gave deployed him on a quest all of a sudden?"

"There are a few problems that can't be avoided. And I don't think so that he will think too much about such a small thing."

"Okay, I will do as you say."

*************

Hiyaaah! Haaah! Kuwaah!

Arman was doing his training.

[Skill: ]

[Proficiency: 0.34%]

[Rating: Mythical]

[Description:- Hurls the dagger in a way which deals the target 130% the ATK damage of the user. All the damage is focused to a single point of area ten to the power minus ten metre square.]

[Cooldown: 10 seconds]

[Effects]

[*No Effects]

One of the new skills he obtained was very useless. He thought that with such a low area of effect, it would easily penetrate through the defences of his enemies. That was untill he tried it on a tree.

The results?

The tree didn't even budge a little.

Arman was in a complete loss.

He couldn't understand.

The Flame King then made it clear for him.

"It is obvious, the area on which it acts is only that of a single atom. Not only would it be a high ammount of waste of energy as an atom is very near to being indestructible, it would make no difference. Because even if the single atom is destroyed, it won't do any damage. Every day, a human sheds a large ammount of skin cells. In such circumstances, what would the destruction of a single atom do?"

"Then why is it rated Mythical? It isn't even worth being normal!"

"Come on kid, get your brain to work. This skill has a zero damage, but has a hundred percent defence penetration. So while fighting, you can launch this skill and your comrades will make a combo attack fused with your skill.

Or you could hide another skill of your own inside this skill. But, both of them require Colossal level of experience and practice.

Obviously, Mythical rated skills, classes, titles and equipments are all only for the skilled and strong. It is just that you are born with a golden spoon in your mouth."

'Ttring! Ttring!'

The ringtone of Arman's phone rang.

He took his phone and picked up the call.

"Hello."

"Hello sir, this is a call from the Killers' Association. If we are not wrong, you had contacted our help line, right?"

"Uhm, yes."

"We have discussed about your complaint with our team members, but could you please elaborate your problem a little more?"

"Well, I haven't been summoned even once since I became a Killer. I just wanted to know why."

"Okay sir. It's actually our mistake, we should have informed you about it earlier. After registering your name at the Killers' Association, we also need to put it on a few more registeries and that is a very time consuming process. We regret the inconveniences caused by us to you."

"Ohh, I am sorry, I shouldn't have reacted in such a way."

"So, any other queries, sir?"

"No."

"Please do contact us again of there is a problem."

Fin.
