Chereads / Wrath Of The Fallen / Chapter 13 - Chapter 12

Chapter 13 - Chapter 12

Walking on the very aisle of the top floor in the home of omens, I witnessed something very intriguing, but the fascinating mystery was unraveled by the words of Howard as he led me through.

"This door in particular having the shape of a Raven is the pathway for all messengers. Whenever the raven is ready, he becomes the key in opening the door to his trial".

"So what happens after the bird gets through the door?"

"Not the bird Davis, the person. The door shuts behind him and then he transcends to a place where he can learn more about himself and his abilities for a period of time".

"And how long does the person stay?" I asked.

"It depends, but mostly about a period of six months". Responded Howard.

"You mean someone spends half a year behind the doors of creep just to learn about himself?". I said sounding surprised.

"Of course".

"Where does this door lead to?" I asked amazed by the it's handle in gold plating.

"This", howard said, "Is the door of the rilla".

"Rilla or gorillas, because clearly a gorillas head is carved as the handle".

"Yes, it is a gorilla, but the kong is very sturbborn. It takes one with lots of humility to pass through".

"How does a sturbborn person gain humility in time?" I asked

"That's it Davis, in time. Not the perfect are always perfect, but the imperfect are full of surprises making it impossible to doubt their abilities".

"Hmmm!!", I exclaimed exhaling still looking at the door's handle, "So what about the fiery beast of the sky?"

"You mean Angelica?" questioned Howard sounding very clever of which I doubt he is.

"Yes". I replied looking so stern.

"The beast of the sky is very crucial, sometimes they could be hard to tame and most times they are easy targets."

"How do you mean easy targets?"

"Ever wondered why dragons became extinct?" asked Howard.

"No, I didn't believe they even existed".

"Lots of people don't believe that they do exist but they did. They soared the sky in much strength and endurance. Their perception makes them vulnerable most times but in that, they find strength".

I walked to the very end until I reached the last door which stood alone right in the middle of the aisle. The door's handle wasn't exactly what I expected it to be but it was extremely captivating. The shape of the door's handle was shaped like a lion and it was made with a diamond.

"This, Lyon Davis, is what I wanted you to see. The door which leads to the very heart of the combined animal spirits".

"You mean combined spirits in the body of a lion?"

"Yes, which means with great power comes great responsibility. The more the task for you to learn how to overcome the challenges yet to be faced".

I gulped down my saliva so hard and it made me look so dumbfounded, but yet in my anxiety I wasn't just willing to know, I was also willing to finally face my fear and become the Lion.

"It's all yours Davis", said Howard "If you can open this door successfully then you are ready to face the unimaginable".

With my eyes placed on Howard, I knew that I had no room for doubt, but I had faith that no matter what happens, I had to be ready and the only way to know this stood right in front of me. I took a deep breath and exhaled with my eyes closed motioning my right hand towards the door and finally, I held a good grip on the handle.

"I can do this" I uttered before turning the knob, and to my greatest surprise, it opened.

Everything seemed to be like an illusion, but it wasn't. I sighted a mountain's summit covered in thick clouds with the breeze swiftly blowing over my body. Everything looked glorious and nothing stirred up eeriness neither did I have any consternation of any kind.

"It's all yours Davis" Howard stated, "Just a quick tip. It'll be like you were gone for just a day or two, but be careful, deceit is very dangerous. Don't be vulnerable to the things around you".

I nodded my head in response and stepped further into the entrance. On looking down below, I saw a very thick cloud position itself beneath my feet and soon enough, I was carried away on the cloud for three seconds, but my whole body drowned in the cloud and I found myself falling strenuously into a thick forest like the amazon in South America.

"Hmmmm, that actually took a while, but I'm glad you didn't come back dead, if only you could die". Teased Howard after watching me fall down from the rooftop having a rough landing.

"You knew all along didn't you?" I asked, angry but befuddled.

"No, normally the door won't open up if you aren't prepared. But as long as it did, you are progressing simultaneously. All you need is time, you just have to relax your mind and let your animal spirit guide you, or rather, let the animal spirits connect to you".

"I thought I did connect, my eyes glowed in a bright golden brown pigment the other day and I saw her, I saw where she was. My spirit connected to hers easily".

"But she isn't the only person who'll be with you when the fallen finally rise up in their wrath. It's more than what you think. There's about a thousand of them in the world and you're speaking of just one person! Davis, you have to be prepared or else you'll never get past this again". Howard cautioned before walking down the steps of the staircases.

"I turned, looking at the door for one more time before turning back only to find myself back in the warehouse, but this time, everyone there was dead, just the way I saw it. I heard loud screams coming from within and soon, the whole place began to gain the attention of people and people began to talk, this was real. My heart bubbled in anger and frustration triggering my urge to work things out with not just myself, but also the rest of the whole team chosen to face the fallen, and I knew just how to do such without freaking out this time.
