We left the hall and headed for our lockers we bumped into Troy and James, James walked pass me but Troy stopped and looked at me then he said "I heard you're the new class president" he stretched his hand towards me and said "Congratulations, was you all the best" then he smiled at me and left. Not long after he left Sami came and woke me up from my daydreaming and said "Ruth his gone you can wake up now" then she laughed and we went to our lockers, grabbing our stuffs we headed for the school gate, just as we were about to leave I heard my name and turned back. Surprisingly it was James, when he reached front of me he said "Congratulations" and handed me an envelope looking at it I asked "what's that?" he looked at me angrily and then he spoke "it's from Troy, he asked me to give it to you" I smiled and took the envelope and left.
On reaching home, mom was sitting on the couch, I walked towards her and peaked her on her cheek and greeted her sitting beside her, I asked "are you writing a new novel?" she turned to look at me and said "yeah, wanna know about it?", "I'd love to but I wouldn't want a spoiler alert before the book is published. Although I'd love a hint" she smiled "well the story is about you, that's all I can tell you" she looked at me then focus her gaze back to her laptop. "Mom, you know that telling me that would make me interested in the book right?", "yeah I know that's why I told you, so you would be interested in reading it, but you lost your chance to have a sneak peak" she said still focused on her laptop, I smiled and left for my room. Reaching my room I couldn't wait to see what was inside the envelope, tossing my bag aside I tore open the envelope and inside I saw a note inside of it I took it out, on it was written "let's meet tomorrow in the music theatre, during lunch time" I screamed joy "ahhhhhh!!!!" my mom rushed to my room scared, soon she opened the door and saw me hugging the paper then she gave a sigh of relief "you shouldn't scream like that you almost gave me a heart attack", " sorry mom, I was really excited about the notes just read". "Who is it from?" she asked, I smiled looking at the paper then I answered "it's from Troy" then she entered my room and shut the door behind her. "So tell me what does it say?" I laughed before responding "well he wants to meet me tomorrow alone", "so are you going?" she asked me, as I was going to answer it hit me then I asked her "are you going to add this to your novel?" she turned away and answered "maybe, so how was the election?" I smiled and stood to my feet walking to my closet I said "Mrs Walker what do you hope to gain by changing the subject?, well that aside I won the election and you should have seen Sofia's face it was a sight to behold mom", my mom stood up and walked to me she said sadly "Miss Walker I'm extremely happy that you won the election but I think you should be very careful, on that note this calls for a celebration" holding me tight she said "I'm very proud of you darling, when your dad gets back am sure he would be very proud of his daughter like I am right now" then she kissed me on the cheek and left.
It was almost time for dinner and I was yet to freshen up, looking out the window I saw my dad's car pulling up in the car way, so I hurriedly ran into the bathroom and freshen up putting on my pjs I ran downstairs like a little kid. Reaching down the stairs I jumped on my dad and kissed him on the cheek, then he held me tight and turn around before dropping me then he asked "why are you so happy?, did you win the election?" adjusting myself I smiled "Dad you should calm down one question at a time, and yes I am happy for two reasons but you're only entitled to know one of the reasons" he looked at me shocked "Really?,what do you mean by 'entitled'?, I have a right to know I'm your father so I demand to know". Oh dad you can't demand anything you know, well I will answer you I won the election but the other reason is yet to be told". He dropped his suitcase and walked towards my mom then he kissed her cheek and said "Maria Walker why don't you ask your daughter what the other reason for her happiness is" she laughed out then replied to him "well honey, it turns out that I know the second reason but since she can't tell you I can't tell you either" he went to the kitchen to get a glass of water then he came back, taking a long drink out of the water, he talked again "well it seems you two are at it again, ganging up against me like you usually do. Well it doesn't matter I'll just go upstairs and sleep". Then I walked to him and wrapped my hands around his waist holding him tightly "daddy don't be jealous I'll tell you the reason if it will make you dine with us, we were actually going to celebrate my win but if you don't want to have dinner with us then it's fine" he turned around and kissed my forehead and said " I wouldn't miss your celebration for anything in the world okay?" I nodded and helped mom set the table as dad went upstairs to freshen up for dinner, soon after dad went upstairs, James entered the house and mom stopped to welcome him but he still was cold towards her the I called out his name saying " I believe mom just greeted, even if it had to be the other way round" then he stopped at the foot of the stairs and turned then he greets mom and heads upstairs. "Honey you shouldn't have spoken to him in that manner it will only distance him from us, please honey".
