Chapter 37 - Chapter 37 - Coffee

I rolled over and felt an empty space next to me and woke me up immediately. It was still raining. "Amabel?" Where was she? I sat up straight when she came in with a coffee cup. She walked around the bed to me and gave me a kiss before giving me the cup.

"Coffee, one sugar, cream," she said.

"How did you know?" I asked. She walked around the bed and got in next to me. "You're a lot more like your father than you realize, Trevor. And I may have asked Rena. She wanted to make it, but I insisted. I make a mean cup of coffee."

"Mmhmm?" I replied and when I took a sip. Holy shit! How did she? I mean it's creamy, but not too much milk was used. I'm getting a taste of caramel or is it chocolate? "Mmhmm," she answered and kissed me. Nevermind, it's caramel. I can taste it on her lips.

"Well?"

"I love it! It's literally the best cup I've ever had."

A big smile made it on her lips. Damn, and I get to kiss those lips. I'm the luckiest man on earth. I'm with the woman I love. You need to tell her that, Trevor.

She stood up from the bed on her way to the closet. "Hey," I said and walked to her. I took her waist and held her close to my chest. "Thank you, for the coffee, but I would like to wake up next to you," I said. Is that telling her?

"Okay," she whispered. Her eyes were so intense, like they were asking me something. Like they wanted to tell me something. "I'm sorry, Trevor," she said. No, no, no. Why is she apologizing?

"For what, baby?"

"I should've fought for you. I never should have let you out the door. I made you relive your past. And for that I'm so sorry."

"Hey," I lifted her chin, "you came back for me. No one's ever done that before. I think that it was for the best to leave me alone for a while. I needed to think too. Some part of me blames myself and I realized that if I became distant, you'd leave. You'd leave before I fell for you. I'm sorry about yesterday morning. But no matter what I do, I can't seem to get you out of my head. And I don't want to. I felt like flying when I saw you last night at my door. You were cold and ran to me. You didn't take a cab, Amabel, you ran," I said and then we both chuckled.

"I wanted to show you how much you mean to me. And I hoped that running to you would prove that and -"

"And it did. You're here. Thank you," I said and bent down to kiss her. My arms going around her body and her arms wrapping around my neck. I would do anything for her. She did it for me. I really do love her.

Does she love me? Does she love me the way I love her? "Miss Avery, it's time to g-"

"Oh, I'm so sorry Miss Avery. Mr. Walker. The door was open," Rena said. If there was a dollar for every time we got interrupted, I'd be a billionaire. Well, being a trillionaire and then a billionaire. "It's okay Rena," I said.

"Sorry, Sir," she said and walked away. Amabel couldn't stop laughing and buried her face in my chest. I couldn't help but laugh with her. She inhaled deeply and wrapped her arms around my neck and got to her toes. "I have to go to work," she said and planted a soft kiss on my lips as her arms and hands slid over my shoulders down to my chest.

"Noooo," I moaned like a small boy. Get a grip, Trevor. You're both adults, she needs to go to work and so do you.

"Trevor, I have to."

"Dinner tonight?" I asked. We didn't have any dinner last night. We had more than dinner. And I prefer it more than the food.

"Okay," she whispered with a soft smile and looked me in the eyes. I wanted to touch her so badly. But if I do, we'll never go to work.

"Oh, but I want to visit my mom tonight. After that?"

"I'll pick you up from work and we'll go together if you want?" I don't want to let her out of my sight. Anything could happen... Darkness is everywhere... Especially...

"Okay. My mom is totally not gonna think we're dating," she said as she turned around and chuckled nervously.

"But we are, aren't we?"

"Well, we've never really talked about it. How do you feel about it?" she asked, crossing her arms over her chest.

"We'll talk at dinner," I said. I had a lot to think about. A lot. More than what she's supposed to know.

"Okay. Sure," she said and walked out of the room to shower in the guest room's bathroom. I decided that I should also take a shower. Water always had a calming effect on me.

You have to tell her, Trevor. Sooner rather than later. It will break her if she finds out... Especially from someone else.

How am I supposed to tell her? I just got her to be with me. She's here. It's the beginning of our relationship. And I do want her. But if she finds out, she'll hate me forever.

I couldn't stop thinking even though the hot water flowed over my body. I ran my fingers through my hair in frustration. I had to come up with a solution that would make her stay with me. I can't lose her. I just got her.

I got out of the shower and found her sitting on the made bed. "Did you make the bed?" I asked. I could see her blushing when I came out. Thank heaven I wrapped a towel around my waist before coming in. "Yes," she said and looked away.

She looked for a way to escape. She was already dressed in a navy skirt and white lace blouse. Damn, she looks so hot.

Her dark hair fits wonderfully with that white blouse. "I just wanted to let you know that I'm going to work now," she said.

"I'll take you," I said.

"You're not ready yet. And I'm going to be late if I wait for you. I promised your dad that I won't be late again."

"Amabel, it's ten minutes after seven."

"Yeah, I know. When I'm not here, I'm usually there at seven."

She is very dedicated to her work. No wonder my father hired her. She's a really good worker. Not just for the company, but for me. I need to let her go to work alone. I'm extremely turned on by her in those clothes.

"I'll see you later," she said and turned around.

I cleared my throat and asked, "Bells, aren't you forgetting something?"

"Oh." That's my girl.

"I always forget my phone," she said and took her phone and walked away. What the hell? Her phone? What about me?

"One more thing," she said, coming back in, wrapping her arms around my neck and kissing me passionately. Everything moved in slow-motion. I took her by the waist and pulled her closer to me. Her index finger's nail glided over my cheek and then she cupped my cheek as she still kissed me.

She pulled away, making me sigh hard. She needs to go. I don't want her to, but she has to. For both our sakes.

"Later babe," I said as she walked back.

"Uhm, 'babe'?" she asked, standing by the door.

"Another thing we can talk about at dinner," I said with a huge smirk on my face. I love it that I can make her blush. When I couldn't see her anymore, I turned around and then I realized I wasn't the only one standing. Even though no one else was in the room. It was just me and well...
