Trevor's POV
She really did scare the shit out of me. She didn't answer her phone or respond to my texts. I want to slap her ass for the hell she put me through. She took my hand as we made our way to the elevator and got in.
When the doors closed, I pushed her against the wall and kissed her. I wanted so much more. I craved more. But she's not ready. I want her to be ready. I love it when she moans when I kiss her neck. I took her bottom lip and bit it gently. Fuck!
"Trevor..." she said, panting and moaning.
"What do you want, baby?" I whispered in her ear. She loves it, because each time she shivers and gets goosebumps all over. I'm toxic to her, but her lips are poison to me. It kills me to even think about someone else holding her, someone else kissing her.
I would kill any man who tries to even think about her.
"I want you," she said. I pushed the stop button on the elevator. When we stopped, I looked at her and said, "What? Are you sure?" Her eyes, her blue eyes are my weakness. She hides so much history and emotion in them, and I want to know it all.
"Yes. I want you," she said and pulled me back to her lips. Holy shit! What is happening? This doesn't feel right. Something is wrong. I couldn't concentrate on what it was, her lips kept burning my skin. You are mine is what her lips were saying. I kissed her neck and moved down, down, down just between her breasts and looked up at her.
Desire was exploding in her eyes. Something keeps holding me back. I want this too, but some part of me is telling me to stop. I came back to kiss her lips and my fingers tempted to lift up her shirt. "Wait," she said out of breath.
"You want me to stop?" I asked softly. She nodded and looked like she wanted to cry. "Baby, what's wrong?" I asked.
I cupped her cheek, forcing her to look at me. "I'm sorry," she said, letting a single tear fall.
"For what?"
"I want to..."
"Me too, baby. But I want you to be ready. Okay? Don't ever stop yourself to tell me. I don't want to push you and I don't want you to push yourself." She nodded. Damn, this girl will be the death of me.
"You okay now?" I asked her. She pushed the button and we headed down to the main lobby.
"Yeah, I am. Are you?" she asked. I took her hand and kissed her palm. "Whenever I'm with you..."
She smiled at me. That smile was my favorite thing. Sparkles in her eyes. I want to keep her that way. We got to the main lobby and the elevator doors opened.
Amabel's POV
We stepped outside and walked past Jessica and Olivia, the receptionists who were totally checking Trevor out. "Good night, Mr. Walker," they said in unison.
"Ladies," he said, nodding their way.
Outside, it began raining and Jonathan was already waiting with his hands together in front of him and then opened the door. "Hello, Jonathan," I chuckled. "Miss Avery," he said. I got in and Trevor followed behind me. Jonathan moved to the front and drove us away.
"Where are we going?" I asked.
He looked at me and said, "It's a surprize."
Remember what happened last time? That surprize had me sleeping over. Speaking of...
"Can I ask you something?"
"Sure," he said and moved closer.
I cleared my throat and moved so my right leg was bent and under my left facing him. "What happened to you this morning? Last night was something I never want to forget and this morning... I couldn't breathe. But then we got in the car. What happened?"
He looked down at his hands. I saw him looking at them so I took them in mine. "Hey, what happened?"
"Nothing. I - I was just in a bad mood."
"You were in a bad mood? That doesn't make sense. You were just as happy as I was this morning, unless you've been faking it this whole time," I said, my voice becoming softer and softer.
"What? Of course not. I never pretended when I was with you. And I don't want to. I want you. I've never wanted someone as much as I want you. Amabel, you have to know that I don't do the whole 'girlfriend' thing. It's not for me."
"I don't understand. You say you want me, but you don't do the whole 'girlfriend' thing? What is this supposed to be if not a relationship? I mean, we've kissed a lot, we've been on a date, I've practically met your family and here we are, going on our second date."
He sighed and looked out the window. Damn it, Trevor! Look at me when I'm talking to you. What the hell is wrong with you?
"Are you already in a relationship? Do you already have a girlfriend?" I asked.
"No."
Silence fell in the atmosphere again. Luckily Jonathan turned around the corner to my apartment building. Just before we could go past it...
"Jonathan, my place, please."
"Yes, Miss Avery," he said and took a turn, looking for a place to park. Jonathan isn't to blame. After all, Trevor did tell him to do what the lady tells you.
"What are you doing?" he asked.
I ignored him and then the car stopped at my apartment building.
"I'm going home. You know where to find me when you've made up your mind about me," I said as I got out of the car and slammed the door closed. I ran inside and pushed the button for the elevator.
