Adelaide's P.O.V
The past week flew by within a few blinks and my only free day was flying away as I was helping out at the cafe. Although there was something new, different and absolutely cold about the cafe today. Mr Riccardo, quite pleased and at the same time dissatisfied by the sales of Tackles, decided to push the 'Big inaugural' date forward. And so, for that purpose, a blank chiselled face stoic man in his oh so godly royal blue vintage suit and aura sat opposite to Mr Riccardo and his extremely noisy and as obvious, naughty grandchild. They were seated by the picture windows with a cup of espresso for the man whose name I did not catch.
The man who had come not too long ago seemed to be doing great at hiding his annoyance towards the kid but his eyebrows creasing every time the kid flew his aeroplane in front of his face was truly a sight to see.
Since we didn't have any other customers besides him at the moment, I was giving him my undue attention all the while trying to hear how they planned on going about the event. While the two were deep in discussion, I checked the time by my watch. It was noon sharp and I couldn't believe how fast the day was going about. I felt as though I was awake for no longer than two hours but in reality, it had already been five hours.
I could no longer keep up with the conversation between Mr Riccardo and the Stoic man. The childs playfulness simply didn't help it. Sighing, I looked at the entrance from the counter as a familiar customer walked in with her friends. Greeting them, I went behind the counter to prepare for their impending order. In due time, everyone was settled in their places and I, with the help of Mr Riccardo's memos served what I'd like to call 'fine tea' and cupcakes as per their order.

It wasn't the kid alone that had my mind away from the meeting. The girl at the counter with her porcelain face, green big eyes and that absolutely mocking smile on her small fresh-face had me all together distracted. Although it wasn't really hard to listen to my client speak, the child's persistence on playing along with him was testing my patience. It seemed that the part-timer was enjoying a play which was solely based on my annoyance. I mean, I can't blame her for enjoying my misery in such a state but she truly wasn't of any help in the matter.
I took a closer look of the cafe when my client left to help his part-timer. The place had honestly completely changed. Having come here before and even often passing by the place in the past, no one would've thought that it was the same place. The vibe and atmosphere felt new and fresh. The change was evident and welcoming. Although, the cafe lost its traditional look, it now had its own modern charm.
It was a relief when the child left with his grandfather. The few minutes of silence truly helped me in collecting my thoughts. But, when she entered, my eyes couldn't help but follow her. Her aura was so bright and alluring. Her eyes seemed to be fixated on her work as her gaze never left the table with customers. I didn't even notice Mr Riccardo take his seat in front of me until his grandchild made his entrance. And just like that, with a lot of disturbance our meeting continued.
Soon, we had finished our discussion after what seemed like an eternity with the bratty child. As I got up to shake my clients hands and leave, something really unexpected happened.
I had just stepped out of my chair when, the child lunged forward in an attempt to do something but he ended up missing a step and pushing me forward while trying to maintain his balance.
As a result of his gentle push my body plunged back slightly causing me to bump into a particular someone.

As the event organizer's body fell back, he bumped into Adelaide who was carrying a tray of almost empty cups. The impact was very little thereby preventing any serious damage as the cups only shook violently before Adelaide carefully supported them.
"I'm sor-"
"My apologi-"
The two started off together.
It was all supposed to end with a repeat in their sentences but, the man's gaze turned dark as he felt something on his back.
"Dammit." -He cursed under his breath.
"I'm so sorry, are you alright?" -Adelaide spoke without noticing the coffee that was now staining his coat.
For some reason, the man was agitated. He looked back on how his day wasn't going very well from the start and cursed at how his clothes were now dirty.
"I would have been alright if you were careful." -he hissed in response as he tried to check the condition of his beloved coat.
His response ticked Adelaide off. She couldn't believe what the man said. Yes, she could have been more careful but, that doesn't mean that he wasn't responsible for it as well.
"Excuse me? So you're trying to say the entire fault is mine? When YOU decided to back-walk?!" -Adelaide was glad that there were no customers in the shop at the moment and so she spoke her mind freely. She felt furious as it wasn't her fault alone. There was no way she could've predicted his movement in that manner.
The man, on the other hand, couldn't care anymore. What made him so frustrated at the moment was the fact that he had another meeting to attend right after this and he couldn't possibly go there in his present state. Even the fastest dry-cleaning would take at the very least thirty minutes.
It was now that Adelaide's eyes fell on his coat. The drink had stained his coat and it wasn't a small one. Now, fully understanding his frustration Adelaide thought of extending her help.
"Umm, I can wash the coat for you if you'd like."
"No, thank you." -The man replied in a rushed and low tone after considering how long the coat will take to dry but to Adelaide it sounded as though he'd rather not have her touch his coat than have it cleaned soon.
Adelaide was going to refute but, before she could, the man turned to Mr Riccardo after seeing his watch and bid him farewell. And just like that the man rushed out and walked away leaving Adelaide frozen to her spot in anger.
"Dylan!" -came a shrill and familiar voice from afar catching the attention of a man who had left the cafe 'Tackles.'
"Giselle..." -he replied while sighing and waiting for her to catch up to him. As soon as the tall, dimpled blonde in her formal attire stood beside him, he started walking with her to his car and soon spoke.
"I need a fresh pair of clothes ready in the office before the meeting."
His eyes were fixated on the road as he quickly fished out his car keys from his pockets and soon entered the drivers seat.
"Right away, Sir." -she replied and immediately started making a few phone calls after taking a seat on the passenger's side.
