Sabrina spent her whole day preparing for the interview the next day. She was really nervous as this is her first time going for an interview. "The role of a credit risk manager is..." She held the door bell ring. She dropped her book on the table before she went the door, to check who it was. She opened the door and saw Josh smiling, holding a pizza box. "Pizza for the gentle one?" He asked her in a fancy accent.
She gaped at him before she laughed. "You are so sweet, thank you." She collected the pizza box from him and invited him into her home.
They both sat down on the couch. Sabrina quickly opened the pizza box, and took a slice before devouring it.
Josh looked at her as she was eating the pizza hungrily. "You are really hungry. Haven't you eaten?"
"Huh? Oh no I haven't. Just practicing for my interview."
He admired her enthusiasm for the interview. "You will pass this interview. Just speak clearly and let your tone show that you are very enthusiastic and ready for anything. Take time but don't waste time to think about the questions, before answering well. If you don't understand a question, ask for it to be explained. Overall, look confident." He took a slice of the pizza and ate it.
Sabrina looked at him in all admiration. Why won't she love him. "You are so smart. You should even vo for the interview."
Josh laughed. "I didn't even apply for the job."
"If I pass the interview, what about you Josh? Apart from me. You were one of the best students in our college. Just that I didn't know you then."
Josh smiled. "I will be be fine, don't worry. Just focus on your interview and relax okay?"
"Okay." She stared into space thinking of how she will slay that interview.
The day finally came. Sabrina took Josh's tips and became relaxed. She looked at herself in the mirror. She wore a black pencil skirt that stopped right above her knee and a white shiffon, long sleeve blouse, tucked in her skirt. She packed her long hair into a ponytail, with some falling at the sides of her face.
"You can do this Sabrina." She inhaled and exhaled deeply before she wore her black pencil heels, that weren't to high. She picked up her bag and left the house.
She arrived at the company. It was very huge with the company logo boldly placed at the high of the tower to Sabrina, 'THE GLOBAL INDUSTRY'. The moment she saw the company, her heart started beating fast. "I can do this. Just use all what Josh told you Sabrina." She said to herself. She pushed her shoulders back before she straightened herself and entered the company.
Her jaws dropped when she saw the Inside of the company. It was so huge and beautiful. Different workers were going about. They looked very busy. She saw the receptionist, she decided to meet her.
"Good morning." Sabrina greeted.
"Good morning." The rest receptionist greeted her back with a smile. She looked nice.
"I came here for an interview I don't know where to...."
The lady interrupted her with a smile. "Just got straight to that door." She pointed to the door that was slightly opened. "That is the waiting room."
"Okay thank you." She tapped the desk lightly before leaving the receptionist.
She opened the door and saw some people also waiting. She didn't even bother to greet them, because their faces were stern. 'How deep has their joblessness gotten into them?' She thought. She quietly sat down and waited for her turn.
Hours passed. Finally, it was her turn. She was called. "Miss Sabrina." She got up, took a deep breath before she went inside.
She was welcomed with three sad looking, face scaring faces. 'God ,help me.' She smiled confidently.
"Good morning miss Sabrina." One of the female interviewer said.
"Good morning." She smiled gracefully even though her heart was stopping few times. She was excellent at hiding her emotions. She was offered the only seat in front of them.
Meanwhile in Josh's house, he was pacing back and forth in the living room. Daniel sat down looking at him. "Bro, calm down. She won't find out okay."
Josh stopped pacing to sit down beside Daniel. "You know I go to the company most times."
"You always go there as a nobody to inspect your company, and you have a representative. So, I don't understand what you are saying." Daniel looked at Josh like he was sounding stupid.
Josh noticed it and slapped the back of Daniel's neck. "Don't look at me like that."
"Okay! Sorry." Daniel massaged the nape of his neck. He looked at the wall clock. "She should be almost done by now."
It was already afternoon. Josh was expecting a call from Sabrina because she said she will call him after the interview. "Is she not done yet?" He heard the door bell ring. He hoped the person was Sabrina who was at the door. He went to the door and opened it. Truly, it was Sabrina.
Sabrina looked dejected. Josh already knew she failed the interview. At first, he hoped she wouldn't get the job. But he realized that he was being selfish. He hoped she got the job. "Hey." He led her into the living room. They sat down on the couch. He sat down sideways to look at her. "Its okay if this didn't work. You will find another one better than this one. Okay?"
She wiped the tears that rolled down her face. "They looked so scary." She couldn't help but burst into tears.
Josh hugged her as she was crying. "Shh. Its okay, don't cry. Please."
She released herself from the hug. She stared at him. Josh was confused. "Are you okay Sabrina?"
She Looked at him and grinned, confusing Josh the more. She suddenly hugged him and started screaming.
Josh started panicking. "Sabrina! Are you okay? Its just a job. Please."
She released herself from the hug again. "No silly. I'm fine. In was just pulling your legs. I got the job!!!"
Josh was surprised. "You, you were crying and..."
Sabrina hoped he wasn't angry. "I am sorry. I just wanted to surprise you." She looked at him with her lips pouted and her eyes blinking non stop.
Josh couldn't get angry because of her cuteness. He smiled at her and ruffled her hair. "No I'm not. Congratulations!" They both shouted for joy and hugged each other. He threw a pillow at her. "You scared me."
She laughed. "I'm sorry. Where is Daniel?" She noticed she didn't see him around the house. He would have been making noise by now.
"Oh, he went out. He will soon be back." The door bell rang. "It must be him. I will go get it." He walked to the door, and he was right. It was Daniel.
"Wassup bro!" He grinned with his hands, raised up one holding a bag filled with beer, and a box of pizza.
"Must you drink?" He left the door for Daniel to close. He reached the living room before Daniel, sitting back on the sofa.
Daniel came in and saw Sabrina smiling at him. "Hey Sabrina. What are you doing here?" He remembered her job interview today. He placed the beer and pizza on the table, squatting next to her. "Did you get the job? Was the interview hard? Were the interviewers faces scary?" He kept asking g without giving Sabrina the chance to answer any of them.
She stood up, helping Daniel up."Calm down Daniel. Yes, their faces were scary. And yes, I got the job."
"Oh my Gooodd!!!" They both screamed as they were jumping up and giggling at each other.
Josh looked at them amazed. Daniel looked so stupid to him. "Wow, Daniel. You should be called Danielle Instead."
"I don't mind. My girl got a job in one of the best industries in the world." He placed his hand in his waist and snapped his fingers at every word like a lady.
Josh cringed at the attitude of Daniel. 'Is he the one who dealt with that man, that day?' "Im gonna barf." He got up from the couch to the kitchen, to get water.
Daniel took the bottles of beer from the bag. "I brought pizza and beer. We will use this to celebrate. And you must drink Sabrina.
