I pushed Nate's hands away from mine . "Dad , Nath ! Let's go !now !"
They had some papers with them and they took it with them while we ran out the bedroom . We didn't know where to go so I all we did was run to different rooms . I found the room that I had seen in Marge's life and pulled the both of them alongside me .
If I had forgotten to mention , when we met Marge , she was staying with her father in a kind of rotten city . But , after we found her out , her father had apparently moved out from between those slumps . The palace like house was where she grew up as a child with her Kate .
Nate took hold of both my shoulders , looked at me so seriously in my eye and said , "Do you know this place or something ? I don't think that it's safe here . Look ! There's a window in this room ! We can get out through this and get to our car . "
I took his hands away and held it firmly while saying , "There's no need to hurry . I know this part of his house . We can get out easily , as well as hide but right now all I need to know is whether any one of you managed to get your hands on something important for us ? "
They nodded their heads . It wouldn't have been wise at all if I had made them stay there and discuss what we found so in turn , I led them to one of the mirrors in the room . When Nate was away from his house , Marge had made some hiding spots and I was feeling really lucky that I had seen that part .
Dad and Nate looked in wonder when I took one of the mirrors in the room out from it's place , revealing a passage . Dad was completely confused while Nate had a somewhat idea of from where I would've found the place . Dad asked , "When did you find this ? "
I answered with a shrug , "I have my ways ."
All three of us had enough space to crawl into it . Marge was really creative . I just had no idea whether she had her stone when she made the passage but she really was creative around the house .
We crawled and crawled around but it was simply a maid here . I was mow completely sure that Marge had her stone when she made the passage because she had something that restricted the use of any magic . Dad couldn't even move around in speed !
None of us wanted to be lost in a secret passage that no one knew and die here . We couldn't even send a message . Thankfully , our knee and hand marks were imprinted on the sandy floor . Everything was fine until we noticed that the hand prints were becoming smaller and smaller . Was it a way that Marge used to trick people if they ever found the passage . I regretted using no other way of marking our way .
" Rene , my magic is going out .. And I - I - think that I don't have much time left ."
NOW we had a problem . Of course ! Dad had lived for more than 500 years . We won't have any problem because we aren't life linked but dad was . I struggled to find a solution because now , I couldn't even stay calm .
Dad was getting weaker by the second . Nath finally talked , "Rene , don't try to think of which way we came . It's no use . We've obviously taken the wrong path . Let's try navigating together . I may have no magic working with me right now , but my human nose is really sensitive . I can smell the direction of fresh air . "
I pushed dad aside and gave Nath a punch in the face , "Why in the world didn't you tell me earlier , idiot !"
He looked back at me painfully and I had a sudden realization of what I did because of my anger . I sat up a little to free myself from the excruciating pain from crouching down too much and said , "I'm really sorry . I'm the one that got us into this mess . I shouldn't have made any of you to get in this passage anyway ! "
Nath patted my back sympathetically . "It's ok , Rene , really . It's not like you new this way going to happen . Now let's not waste anymore time and get out of this hell hole ! " Nath tried cheering ma up and it worked a little . I gave him a small smile before following his lead .
Dad could no longer crawl properly and started limping . I was getting kore and more worried . I didn't want to loose him this fast just because of a stupid mistake.
Was Nate's smelling ability gonna work ? All I could do right then was trust him .
"Rene , I know that the exit , or entrance might be near but I simply can't figure it out . Maybe it's because of the continuous use of my nose or something . "
Dad was slowly loosing consciousness but I had learned a little to remain calm now. "I'll check . "
I started moving about the twists and turns in the dark tunnel . Dad's breath was weak and I couldn't handle being calm no more . I was running on my knees and hands , trying to find an exit .
I stopped abruptly when I could no longer feel his heart beat on my back . "Dad ! Dad ! Wake up ! Come on ! You have to keep breathing ! We're almost there ! "
No response . I was in tears when I heard Nath shout . "Rene , come here ! I found it ! "
I rushed to where I heard Nate's voice swiftly , I had to make sure that he survived. Nate was waiting for me outside the passage . I didn't think of enjoying the air and space that I got now but took dad out and tried everything that I knew .
Nothing worked . I tried magic but it didn't work either . My father , who had accompanied me for just what seemed like a short time , lay lifeless , on the marble floor of our rival .
