We decided to proceed with our plan before meeting Beth . It was not like we could force Nate to leave Beth . Opening the backdoor of Fredrick's house , we got in . His house was a complete mess . What did his maids do here ? Did they not clean or something ?
The house would've been screaming rich if it wasn't dirty . The tiles were Deep oak . There were masterpieces of art paintings hung on the wall . "Nobody should walk on or above the piles of clothes , or anything that's here . This might've been a trap for us inside them . "
They agreed with me . In fact , Cora had found sharp pieces of glass kept upright , as well as knives arranged the same way , under some piles of clothing . They had made traps . A trap so obvious was easy to find but something told me that he had arranged for other things too . He had something very valuable to hide from us .
The steps were marble and shining even though there were stuff thrown here and there , all around the place . I was walking upstairs in the lead , when I realised that one of the step that I stood on had moved a little bit . Thankfully , I noticed sharp knives coming at us from the roof . All of us ducked just in time before we got beheaded .
"We need to more careful around here , ok ? I think he has more up his sleeve , even though he is away ." I didn't have to say this to them at all because it was basic logic to understand something as simple as that .
We were upstairs now . He might've understood that his first trap , hiding sharp things underneath piles of other things would be long found . Therefore , the upstairs were tidy . In between , there would be knives swinging at us but we were faster than them . One of us always potted the sudden movement coming at us .
The downstairs were just open space filled with couch's , TV's , and pool table's . It must've been for visit's from people . The upstairs was where we could finally see rooms . One by one , we opened the rooms . By the look of it , we would've taken half a day to check through all the rooms . Thankfully , we didn't have to do that because we found something useful when we were halfway into checking .
The room looked way too elegant for it to look like it would be used for hiding . Cora and dad went to the other room while Kate and I looked through the room we were in . The cupboards were way too fancy for my enjoyment but we looked through everything anyway . I jumped in fright when Kate suddenly shouted mist the oin drop silence we were keeping , "I found something ! "
I went to Kate near the bed in the room . I had to keep away because there was no space to stand together . The bed was not too big but was big enough . It was kept almost touching to the wall . Kate was standing near the bedside drawer squeezing herself in . I helped her by pulling the bed a little more away from the wall .
To our surprise , we found something else too . A chest . A golden one to be exact . It was believed that golden chests contained a strong armour within themselves . Only a golden key could unlock it . I walked over to Kate and was surprised to see a golden key ! Jackpot !
