It was true that Benjamin's parents were divorced but I had never expected both Margaret and Benjamin to be half siblings . Both of them had never mentioned their mother's names . Because of all the rush we had to solve problems I didn't realise that she was the same woman I saw in Margaret's life . It dawned on me that I had actually seen her before . But how was Ben younger than Marge ? Ben 2 years old , my exact age while Marge was 28 , and married , with a child . Her mother , AKA Kate was living with her so wasn't she supposed to be the child of her second husband or something ? Something was fishy with this woman and I had a hard time listening to her talk without asking questions about my suspicions .
"You might have a lot of questions but I suggest you ask all of that after hearing to my talk , ok ?" I thought she would be more fierce when talking because she had a short bob hairstyle , hard makeup on her face like an unsuccessful plastic surgery . Her suite made it seemed like she was all business but I guess that looks can be deceiving . Both me and Jaden nodded , while Warner was asked by one of the securities to walk out of the roof for a while until she finished explaining . Maybe it was something that even he didn't know .
"You see , I met Fredrick when I was young and naive . We had a great love affair but soon I had no more feelings for him . Not wanting to hurt his feelings , I told him about it immediately . He was angry at me but understanding and said that he was ready to let go of me and I believed him but apparently , I was wrong . " Kate was talking but I zoned out for a second .
Marge was originally mute when we met her for the first time but she talked properly when she had pain . Why didn't any of us notice it ? Was it because of the depth of the situation or .... Nathaniel had told us that she was going to get an operation for her throat to be able to talk and then go to therapy but would it be that effective? There is too much going on around me to give my full attention to every thing going around me . Will I be even able to know if someone changed their supporting sides and started cheating me ?
"Rene , Rene ! Are you even here ?" It was Kate .
I looked at her with apologetic eyes and said , "Oh . I'm sorry but I zoned out for a second there . "
"It's okay . What I was saying was that I met Margaret's father , Nate after breaking up with Fredrick . We had Margaret after our marriage . I don't know why but after having our daughter , I started getting attracted to different men . I didn't want to make a huge mistake so I only gave in a little to those dirty cravings I had . I only went on a single date with anyone I felt attracted to and ended it there , concluding with myself that Nate was better than any other man . In the end , I ended up getting full control on myself and I was happy but I had no idea that my dear daughter had watched me go out with them countless times ."
I could imagine the disappointment both Kate and Marge would have felt for each other during both the times when Kate was going out with those men , or when , I could've guessed , Marge confessed to Nate about it . Kate was looking down to the floor , as of she was confessing her sins from her lifetime to a church father .
"Without knowing anything , she bought the topic up at a family dinner , casually . Nate was furious . He had expected me to be completely loyal to him . He was the possessive type . That was one of the major reasons to why I had those urges , to try find a way to see if someone was better than him , not possessive , and trusted . I had realised that the best man was in front of me the whole time too late . He filed for divorce letters , not wanting to listen to my explanation at all . I would've done the same thing I was him too . "
She was smiling to herself , sadly , showing us just how vulnerable she was in real life.
"Fredrick was stalking me the whole time and easily kidnapped me to his house after my divorce one day . He forced me to become pregnant and captured me there , like a prisoner . I gave birth to Benjamin and escaped as soon as I could while Fredrick was still mesmerised by his achievement in making a baby with me . I saw him grow from afar , a mother's love can't be broken even if the baby was made against her wish , it is what I believe . I saw how Fredrick was planning murder against his own child ,, I found out that it was because I wasn't returning to him . No matter how he died , I didn't want him to die by the hands of that filthy man . So I have been trying to kill him . You guys are great securities for him because I couldn't succeed . "
It all made sense now . Kate ordered those Happons to kill Ben but we had been giving him safety to the full measure until now . But I didn't know if I had to see her as a friend , or an enemy now .
"He is in good hands . I want you all to look after him the same way when Fredrick comes and kill that pig , got it ?" Well , our relationship was going in a good direction . She was already in tears so I moved my chair more near towards her and started caressing her back . The touch we had in between showed me that she was a vampire , and she was indeed , telling the whole truth .
