Argus and Schaffer stood before the stage auditorium looking at over thousands of students. There was a small silence as the domineering presence of the both of them stood tall like a gigantic statue.
But instead of it being admired because of their beauty, its strength that made the thousands obey.
The guardians of their city and their kingdom. There was no other honor greater than being under those who were powerful.
A single swift of their magic and villages will be burned down, gust away by the winds, swallowed by the darkness, purified by the light. Whatever magic comes out at the end of their staves, everyone knows that destruction ensues, and the idea of peace follows.
A magic imbuing their mouths with mana. "Greetings students." Two words and everyone felt the chilling words coming out from Schaffer's mouth.
Argus tapped his shoulders and touched the bottom of his own chin to signal Schaffer's excessive use of mana.
Schaffer coughed as if trying to adjust his words. "Welcome to our 496th Annual Nomination for the Elemental War!"
Sparks of elements shot up from the sky from the several mages behind them. The eyes of everyone reflected the beautiful lights from above.
Argus suddenly intervened and tapped his staff onto the stage, creating a small crack. The intense pressure of the aura that he emitted made difficulties for the students to even stand up. "Don't falter." With his commanding voice, everyone tried casting their own spells to themselves to resist the overpowering strength of a high tiered magician.
"It has been over 70 years since we won the Elemental War. It seems like everyone here has been extremely carefree on how they train themselves. Not taking risks, always taking out the easy way?"
Argus tapped his staff once more further inflicting a great amount of distress among the students.
"Its pathetic on how Schaffer was the one who begged for me to come and judge all of you. Seems like this academy only knows how to disgrace its own owner. Seeing an old friend of mine beg for its academy's former glory, its disappointing!"
Argus' words were mostly an act, yet some of the words that he says holds some truth of its own.
The Elemental War is a war between all over the world. At first it was to solve overpopulation. As races began to become equal in terms of treatment from all over the world, several races has been taking a lot of the ground from the world causing conflict simply for being born too much.
Some of the neutral races such as goblins, and the arachnids were one of the biggest problems of overpopulation. So a great war ensued killing most of their kind and the world's population was cut in half.
The second was power. Monarchy comes in on who should hold the most power in the whole world. And the winning race were the demon race. But the demon race were reasonable and simply wanted to eliminate the discrimination that was put into the minds of the other races.
They didn't abuse their powers, but did use it for a greater cause for their placement. Hence, the crowning of the Demon King that ruled the world not with an iron fist, but the united fists of the demon race.
And finally, the other races still had prejudices of the demon race even though their transgressions were done 300 years ago.
So people began to fight and another great war ensued. The two biggest races, humans and demons joined in forces to fight against discrimination.
The opposing factions which were the werewolves the holders of the moon, the beast race which are the kings of the land, and the other smaller races that were forced to join so that their race wouldn't go extinct.
And the faction whose goal was only to regain the power and fear that they once imbued. The goblins, the arachnids, the undead, and most of the monsters that were once the enemies of everyone rose up.
The god from above felt amused as the wars were going on. So he descended down from the living.
