Chapter 34 - 34. The Jazz Festival

Charlos was surprised when someone rolled down the windshield from the inside. Reva smiled. Charlos jerked his head to look up at the sky and laughed loudly. He still couldn't believe that Reva was in front of him.

He looked at Reva in amazement. Reva's skin is so white and clean.

Charlos shook his head. "Oh, come on. How could you …?"

"I am the real owner of this car. Of course, I have a duplicate key," said Reva, pointing to the key stuck in the starter hole.

Charlos was still frozen, standing there.

"Come in!" Reva gave him a sign.

Charlos walked around and entered the passenger door. By the way, he noticed how dark Reva's car window was. He could barely see Reva's face.

How could Rissa's eyes be so observant that she could see Reva's face clearly? Charlos shook his head slowly. Then, Reva started the car engine, and they left the airport.

"I ... I still don't know what to say," Charlos said with a big smile and furrowed his brows.

Reva chuckled. "What do you want to say, Charl?"

"I'm really sorry about that time. Suddenly, there were reporters there. You know that we shouldn't be seen by the media. Why didn't you tell me earlier? At least, I can be prepared and don't have to run away like that," said Charlos. He looked a little apologetic.

"Don't blame me, Charl. If I had known earlier, I would have told you. After all, you will never be ready with the media," said Reva, whose tone turned cold.

Charlos did not dare to discuss his gossip with Rissa on the internet. Anyway, Charlos and Reva were silent for a long time. In fact, his heart was pleased when he saw the real Reva beside him. However, it seems that Reva is worried that Charlos will not come to the Jazz Festival.

"Okay. Let's change the subject. How about the Jazz Festival?" asked Charlos.

"I practice the saxophone almost every day. It's really genius. I met a lot of other jazz players, and they were just amazing. You know Dan Baldemar?

"Yes, of course!" said Charlos.

"Wow! He's cool!" Reva replied excitedly. Charlos was very happy to hear that.

"Dan Baldemar is cool, but still, the Jazz Festival will be even cooler because of you, Rev!"

Reva chuckled and looked at Charlos, "The Jazz Festival would be cooler because of you, Charl. I wouldn't be cool if you weren't around."

"Here I am," said Charlos cheerfully.

Reva replied with a smile. They keep moving, but the roads are very congested. They queued to be able to enter the Jakarta International Expo area.

"Hey, Rev. By the way, how did you get to the airport when you had to be on stage today. What if you're late?" Charlos looked at the clock on the dashboard; it was half-past nine.

Reva just laughed softly, shook the head with a shrug, "Sometimes, That's the advantage of having a guard."

Reva pressed the button on the cell phone, talking so briefly on the phone that Charlos didn't understand what Reva was saying.

A large van appeared with its siren wailing, clearing the way. Reva broke through the road quickly while following the car to enter the VIP gate. Five men in black prevented several cars from following Reva's car.

Reva and Charlos got out of the car. Lots of cameras greeted their arrival. The reporters are trying to get a picture of Reva. Charlos could only follow Reva while the guard blocked the reporters so they could enter the building. Finally, they managed to get into Reva's room.

From afar, Charlos could hear how thick jazz music filled the air tonight. Reva smiled widely, and Charlos smiled too. Anyway, Charlos was panting after running.

"That was so much fun," said Reva. "Oh no! You might be in a magazine or TV."

Charlos sat down on a round sofa and then picked up the Jazz Festival flyer lying on the table. "It doesn't matter, Rev. Let them take a picture of me or a picture of the two of us. I don't care anymore." Charlos shrugged that made Reva raise the eyebrows.

"By the way Rev, I don't have an entry ticket. I'm illegal."

Reva approached him. "That doesn't matter now. You're already in here, so you're legal."

Charlos laughed, but Reva didn't laugh with him.

"Are you sure, Charl about the media? They could say bad things about you."

Charlos put down the brochure and then stood opposite Reva. "What for example? Are they going to say I'm your boyfriend?"

Reva opened the mouth to speak, but no words came out. Charlos is getting closer to Reva.

"I don't think they guess about it so easy, but if they say so, let it be." Charlos looked Reva straight in the eye. "Why can't be together with the person I love?"

"Of course, you can, Charl."

"And what about you? Are you also free to love anyone?

"What do you really want to say?" asked Reva.

Charlos took Reva's hand and put it on his chest.

"I can't stop thinking about you," Charlos said. "I'm sad because even though you're already in Indonesia, but we still can't see each other so often. I really want to come here, meet you, but I'm always busy. I think you are also busy."

Charlos looked at Reva deeply. "I need you Rev. I don't know if this thing is normal?"

"I don't want you to make hasty decisions, Charl." Reva let go of Charlos's hand.

"What? Are you ready to wait for me until later and later? I don't know when we will meet again."

Charlos looked furious. He turned his gaze to Reva's saxophone. He felt that his meeting with Reva at this time was happened because of the Jazz Festival. He had to wait another year for the next Jazz Festival if he wanted to meet Reva. It will happen if only Reva has a stage schedule.

The point is, there may never be a better time for them to meet other than now.

"We can meet anytime. It's just a matter of matching my schedule with yours." Reva's voice sounded less convincing.

Charlos grabbed Reva's face with both hands. "Rev, I miss you so much. I can't bear to express my true feelings anymore."

"Charlos." Reva held Charlos hand. Reva pulled her away from the face. "I understand that you miss me, but you don't have to force your feelings, Charl."
