Chapter 9 - Six months

Six months has passed since Xin Feng's first day of torture. From Fingers crushing to skin slicing, and many more types of torture.

Even though Xin Ling had tortured Xin Feng for more than a hundred days, she still enjoyed every second of it, each day. She was even reluctant every time it had to come to an end.

It seemed to be that her mind got completely broken from her thirst of vengeance. It made Xin Feng wonder if everyone from the kingdom would be as thirsty as her for vengeance, just for a simple grudge.

In those six months, the tortures he experienced weren't for naught. Luckily, he was healed most of the time, right before he would be critically injured. Because of this healing, his pain tolerance had never even reached its limit. Not once had Xin Feng experienced a lot of pain from the torture…

Instead of torture, the situation was more of beneficial for him. The healing had given him an abundance of spiritual energy to cultivate, since he didn't need healing. And other than spiritual energy, with six months given some form of seclusion, Xin Feng was able to increase his mastery in magic.

[Talent achieved: Poison magic]

[Talent Achieved: Fire magic]

Usually, since the torturing process would take two to three hours, Xin Feng had enough time to cultivate and even test his talents, since after a few months, his torturers didn't bother to even check his bindings after throwing him in some kind of torture method of theirs.

Thanks to negligence of theirs, Xin Feng was able to improve his power more and more as a result.

Unfortunately, as time went, the available opportunities for power-ups were too little to be of an assist to his growth. The reason, obviously, is because the stronger he became the less he would improve. With this, and with six months already having passed, Xin Feng decided that it would best to get rid of the two, since they are no longer needed.

There was still around four hours left before Xin Ling and the burly healer would usually come to give him his free upgrades. However, recently, the two hadn't visited him nor provided him of any nourishment for six days already. This is because presently there is a competitive event going on in the sect of the person that was in charge of healing him. For this reason, Xin Feng hadn't been able to get rid of them, even though he is already powerful enough to do so.

Fortunately, with Xin Feng being powerful and already having become an immortal before the competition even began, the lack of food and care was not much of a problem for him. Nonetheless, when the competitive event finally comes to an end, Xin Feng would make sure to give those two a treatment similar to what they had given him for six months long. Sadly for them, they won't be benefitting from his treatment, but suffer instead….

Since there was some time left before the duo might arrive, Xin Feng proceeded to burn the straps that were holding him. This was to get rid of all the disgusting memories that it gave him.

After the straps were completely burned, Xin Feng went to sit and work on skill that he had come up with recently to improve his Mana core. Mana, which is what he had decided to officially call the elemental energies around him after he had received the talent Mana detachment, and Mana Core, which is what he had decided to call the feeling in his head that hurts every time he controls mana excessively.

This core, it's name and its location near Xin Feng's upper Qi crystal turns out to be even recognized by the system. A core, which the system deems is responsible for controlling the surrounding's elemental energy…

The talent "Mana detachment", a talent where he would use his Mana Core to gather and circulate all the pure elemental energy around his head until he is out of mana. It is a skill that he had received after a long and continuous process of him trying to figure out the best method of increasing a certain level that comes together with his Magic level...

[Magic level: Awakened human]

[Character can use his discovered elements of magic that is on par with the power of an average sorceror]

[Synchronization level: 2%]

[Character's affinity with true magic. Character's synchronization with origin of the system]

Although Xin Feng's head felt a bit heavy, he felt happy. The reason why, is because his synchronization level which figured to be something very important, had finally leveled up after almost two months of head wrecking practice. This level is what he was really interested in. Hence his past determination to create a skill similar to spirit cultivation but for magic…

Anyhow, with his goal having been reached after almost emptying his total mana, he did nothing for half an hour...

"Hey! Are you still alive?!"

After half an hour, just like Xin Feng had hoped, someone arrived.

"Mhm..." Xin Feng gave such a simple answer upon hearing the familiar voice.

The voice was that of Xin Ling, who was behind an old wooden door and wall. If someone looked carefully, they would be able to spot whatever was going on behind the wall, due to the gaps between each plank.

Xin Feng was able to see Xin ling clear enough, and saw exactly what she was doing...

At the moment, she was tying up her loose hair into a bun. Xin Ling wore a loose robe, which showed her cleavage and the edges of her breasts clearly. Other than that, her stomach showed and some hair of her genital as well.

While Xin Ling was tying up her hair, she made sure to speak to Xin Feng as well. She went on about how annoyed she was of the healer whose name was apparently Lau Shu, and she was visibly annoyed because he had lost in the competition, and that was heavily injured as a result.

Due to the competition, she had been lacking "special" attention, and now she had to wait even longer, because Lau Shu was simply too injured to do a thing.

Xin Ling ended her sentence with words that made Xin Feng feel too disgusted. She was in need of attention, and wanted to try it with Xin Feng, because she found him quite interesting after he got through all her torture without getting insane. She also thought that it would be pleasurable to do it with her big bastard of a brother, since it would be an uncomfortable situation for the both of them.

When she was done with her displeasing conversation behind a wall, she opened the door to start her adventure, only to realize that Xin Feng was free from his bondage, and that he was looking at her in complete disgust.

As a result, Xin Ling was shocked, because she didn't notice that Xin Feng was free from his bondage, since she had been too busy fantasizing.

Withn a second, Xin Feng suddenly appeared in front of her, which surprised her even more. Still in shock, she couldn't react in time to Xin Feng's hand that was coming to her face.

All of a sudden, her sight was covered by Xin Feng's palm, and not long after, she got slammed hard to the ground.

"Shut that filthy mouth of yours, wench!" Xin Feng shouted, before he began to heat up his hand.

"AHHHH!! Please stahh!!!" Xin Ling screamed in pain as her face was getting scorched. Her mind was in turmoil from the pain and the question of how Xin Feng has the abilities of an immortal.

"Why are you screaming? This is nothing like I had gone through!" Xin Feng questioned as he kept slamming her head.

'She has to die' He thought, as he pondered about what other unlucky fellows would have to go through if they angered her. After all, not everyone had the ability to resist pain as he did.

As Xin Feng was about to slam her with all of his strength, he heard a woman commanding others to search the cave that he was in.

After hearing the voice of the person outside, Xin Feng moved his hand to grab Xin Ling's neck, before dragging her with him to check through the gaps of the wall, in order to see who the outsiders were.

A cunning smile appeared on Xin Feng's face when he saw that the woman outside was the very same person that had saved him back then.

'Hehehe… Isn't this the so-called coincidence that readers would call plot armor…'

'I just received the best chance to make an amazing scheme out of this situation!'

'Burn!' Was Xin Feng's mad idea.

"Haaaaaa!!!" Xin Feng shouted for almost a minute, with a tone full of rage.

At the same time he yelled, his body started turning into a hot glow of yellow, mixed with a bit of orange. The area around him began to burn, as flames began to appear all around him, circling him and expanding beyond the five-meter radius.

The entire place was caught on fire, and it wouldn't be long before every flammable item would be turned into coal.

While Xin Feng was screaming, Xin ling was screaming as well. One was screamed from the sheer anger, and the other from the sheer pain. Together they became a beautiful melody, however, the melody was quick to end. The reason why, was because one of those melodies, was now dead.

*Step* *Step*

Rushed footstep were heard. It was Liu Lue...

Apparently, the others who were supposed to search the cave, went back to call miss Liu, when they discovered the fire. She was the only one who could walk in the fire with ease, after all.

"Xin Feng!! Thank goodness you're all right!" She shouted as she fell on her knees with a few tears in her eyes.

Xin Feng looked back at her in silence, still showing his furious expression.

"Xin Feng, It's me. Miss Liu. The one you fell in love with."

Upon hearing her words, Xin Feng's expression quickly changed into one of confusion. His flames started dying down, as he was changing back into his normal self. When Liu Lue saw that Xin Feng came out of his berserk mode, she couldn't help but laugh.

"Haha! I knew you had fallen in love with me at first sight. How else would you remember me?"

With the most deadpan face, Xin Feng responded, "Tch. Stop dreaming, old geezer~"

"Hey! Hey! How could you call a beauty like me an old geezer?" Liu Lue laughed as she wrapped her arm around his shoulder, before bringing him together with her, outside.

For a second, she looked back at the scorched body behind her in despise, before she let out a sigh.

"Our objective is complete! Permission to return has been granted! Scatter!" She commanded the others that came with her, to leave.

While the others left towards the direction of the sect, Liu Lue continued her conversation with Xin Feng.

"I can't believe you are chosen by the eye of the phoenix. Congratulations, your father would be even happier when he hears the news of you being able to cultivate!"

"Really?!" Xin Feng asked with sparkling eyes.

"Really." Liu Lue replied with a beautiful and soft smile.

With a look full of ambition and hope, Xin Feng looked up to the sky.

"I'll become stronger than you one day, miss Liu!" He shouted his lungs empty, just like every hot-blooded and childish MC would.

"Well of course! You were planning to marry me, after all. Now that you've stepped into the road of immortality, it's completely possible~"

Again, Xin Feng's face turned deadpan, before he muttered "Can you please stop…?"

"Ehe~"
