The next day came by fast.
At the moment, Xin Feng was sitting on his bed, improving his mana core. With his mental fatigue that would disappear whenever he entered the Character room, he never planned to sleep anymore unless he was forced to. His goal was to reach godhood as fast as possible, in order to take down the damned goddess who had stripped him from his happy life, after all.
For now, Xin Feng needed a good amount of resources to cultivate fast. Exactly because of the lack of qualitative goods that has a ton of spiritual energy, Xin Feng decided to focus more on his Elemental power.
He would use Mana Detachment until he had to regenerate his mana, and while he waited for it to regenerate, he would fully focus on cultivating the spiritual energy within the ointments near him.
Xin Feng was also trying to create a new skill to make his training far more efficient. This extreme efficient method would only be possibly if he could cultivate while using the skill Mana Detachment at the same time...
Doing so of course, was very a very gruesome task for him, because he had to focus on wasting his mana to create physical mana circles around him while absorbing Qi at the same time. By trying to let the Qi in, he would often lose his concentration on the mana, which would stop the display of pure concentrated mana immediately. With this, his efforts turn out futile, and he would lose too much time as a result.
Nevertheless, even though it wasted a lot of his time to develop this new desired skill, Xin Feng was still persistent on making it work. He knew trying for a way more advanced method would be tough, but he also knew that if he does manage to succeed, he would then be able to break trough his limits effortlessly in the future.
Fortunately for Xin Feng, in the end, after many hours had come to pass, his determination brought success. After an entire night and half a day, he was finally able to absorb Qi and improve his mana core at the same time, albeit quite slow…
Looking at the clock on the wall, it showed that it was eight o' clock in the morning. This is how Xin Feng was able to know how much time he had wasted creating this advanced and unique method of cultivation…
The clock, apparently, explained by Liu Lue, is a tool created by the people of the west, which can be bought from traveling merchants. It's a time indicator that functions with energy sources called mana stones, which can also be bought from traveling merchants or mined…
Unfortunately for Xin Feng, he couldn't know and witness more of these kind of technologies. This, because every kingdom and race were proud of their own inventions and culture. For this reason, little to no cultural inventions were traded amongst the different races and regions.
*Knock* *Knock*
A knock was heard on the door. It was Liu Lue, who came to tell Xin Feng that their master had returned, and that he was waiting for the both of them in her mansion. Before leaving, Liu Lue allowed Xin Feng fifteen minutes to rinse himself and arrive there.
…
"Disciple meets master."
"Good..." The old man replied while stroking his white beard.
"The problem has been resolved. Lau Shu shall be heavily punished for six months even while he's injured. He will not be sentenced to death, because he was seduced by one of our disciples. Are you satisfied with the outcome…?"
"This lowly Disciple of yours thank thee."
"There's no need for such modesty, you can simply talk to me as if I'm your father… Which I am. Hahaha!"
'Oh my, oh my…' Xin Feng thought, a bit disappointed after hearing his master's remark.
"Uh-uhm! Here! Take this token as my recognition of you as my disciple. Also, Liu Lue. I'll assign his training to you, okay. Good luck you two!"
"Bu-but she doesn't have fire roo…"
"Yea-yeah, don't worry about that. For now, you'll only need the basics." The old man said lazily as he waved his waved his hand in the air while walking away, indicating that everything was fine.
As a result, Xin Feng was left dumb founded, while Liu Lue was left with a cheerful smile of hers that showed familiarity of such a situation.
"Alright, follow me."
The two went towards the training ground as Liu Lue began to give a brief explanation about cultivation and the difficulties that one would have to go through.
At the end of her explanation, she pulled out a cultivation method that their master was using. Her master had given it to her before Xin Feng came, and had mentioned to her, that it was be the best method for someone with a fire root like Xin Feng.
"Read it carefully... You can read, right?" She asked in realization.
Xin Feng simply nodded as an answer to her, which quickly eased her worry and panic. She really didn't want to devote herself as a teacher of infants that still needed to be taught the basics, after all.
After a few minutes, Xin Feng had already comprehended the method, and was able to absorb spirit energy from the air.
"Stop trying to impress me Xin Feng. You better be serious when it comes to cultivation."
"But I am being serious... Why would I even try to impress you?" Xin Feng said while thinking 'What do you take me for! This is nothing in comparison with comprehending math equations!'
*Sigh* "Fine, sit down and try while I'll guide you. You probably misunderstood some things, since you're illiterate."
With that said, Liu Lue went to sit behind him, before placing her palms on his back.
"Alright, you can begin." She told Xin Feng, which he obeyed to.
The moment Xin Feng began to cultivate and follow the said method, Liu Lue jolted her hands away in surprise.
'What was that horrendous feeling of being dragged away!' She thought as she scanned her palms to see if they were okay.
'Oh no what am I doing. My junior might be making mistakes without my guidance.'
She quickly placed her palms back on Xin Feng's back, and simply continued through the uncomfortable feeling to see what was going on.
'My Qi is getting drained, I need to be careful… Okay, he's guiding the spirit energy in the correct paths...'
'Oh, so those crystals on his body are his dantians…' She thought after she followed the spirit energy that had entered Xin Feng's body.
'Why doesn't he have spirit roots? Only natural immortal cultivators without the blessings of Celestials can build their own dantians without being blessed with spirit roots... But only the monks and offspring of the Swords can do that. Not our kind of sect and family…'
'Hmm… A new method of the Celestials, perhaps? The presence of dantians on his body should mean that he went through the establishment stage already...' Liu Lue continued making assumptions as she followed Xin Feng's progress.
While thinking, when Liu Lue inspected Xin Feng's lower core, she became so bewildered that she woke up from her thoughts immediately.
"This amount of cultivated Qi!" She yelled out of fear, backing away in an instant, as she was afraid of the impossible and the unknown.
Xin Feng hearing her scream, he stopped cultivating immediately, as he focused his attention to look at her with a face full of confusion that eventually asked,
"what is wr-?"
"You're already in the beginner stage!"
"You also took away an entire stage of my cultivation realm!"
"Uhm…" Hearing the words of Liu Lue, Xin Feng's heart started panicking a little.
'Sh*t! I forgot my cultivation stage could be seen on touch.'
'Well… Not that that's my level right now. Thanks to her sending her cultivated spirit energy to me, my body automatically absorbed it, and now, I'm an advanced level cultivator if based on this world's standard…'
"It can't be… Your body can't be taken over by them as well." Liu Lui softly spoke words that sounded like nonsense to Xin Feng. While saying those words of hers, she fell on her knees, drowning in her own memories, which confused Xin Feng even more...
With a terrifying aura, as she was standing on her knees, she then muttered with a tone that displayed her sadness and anger…
"I thought I found myself a little brother… A family... But such love, such future... Is taken away from me again…"
"Die! You filthy scoundrels of the Crimson Lunar cult!" Liu Lue shouted before she spun and threw a bolt of lightning towards Xin Feng.
"Wait! It's all a misunderst-!"
Seeing what was happening all of a sudden, Xin Feng tried to stop her from whatever she was doing, but alas there was no way to stop the mad looking woman…
'Character!' He yelled inside his mind, in order to think about the sudden strange development of Liu Lue carefully…
*Fwoosh*
"Holy moly! What is that sudden change of character?! Is she not right in the head?! I knew it! That's why she kept teasing me!"
*Sigh…*
'What to do…?'
"I must flee! I definitely do not want to die before I return to earth..."
'Alright, I'm ready… Let's get back. I got this!'
'Exit!'
