The seven landed in a park with the appearance and noise of the griffins scaring many away.
"Thank you, Storm" Slade said as his griffin and all his buddies took to the sky.
"I'll ride with you anytime Inferno" Blazer cried waving.
"So, where is this museum?" Violet asked.
Gears projected a map of the city through a tiny camera on the forehead of his suit. The projection showed a detail look of the city buildings and the museum they were to go to. A red X marked the museum.
"That's the museum, it's located in the city epicenter" Gears said.
"Okay guys, let's go and pray we weren't too late" Maverick said.
"How do you get such detailed representation?" Violet asked.
"Oh, I get that through my satellite" Gears said casually.
"You have a satellite?! Awesome!" Blazer said.
The team travelled to the city center and then they heard people screaming and then an explosion as a car passed over them.
"Oh no" Wave said.
"We're too late" Frosty added.
"Come on guys, we can still salvage this" Maverick said flying off.
"He's right let's go" Gears said following him.
They got to the museum to see two large demons standing fifty feet tall with the outlook of muddy sand and black lines running around their bodies. Other smaller ones like the ones fought in D.C plagued the streets unleashing carnage. Then the demon Maverick fought a couple days ago flew into the museum.
"I know that demon, I fought him a couple days ago, and you killed him Slade" Maverick said.
"Demons are eternal, though killed in this realm, they reassemble back in hell" Slade stated.
"I don't know about you guys, but I'm going to secure the book" Violet said before running ahead of them.
"Hey, wait, we need to come up with a plan!" Gears said frustrated by her.
"Her stubbornness is going to cause a lot of problems for us" Wave said.
"Never mind her, we need to get a hold of this situation" Frosty said.
"Leave the big ones to me" Slade said.
"Don't worry we'll split them" Maverick said.
"Okay, while you two handle the big guys, Blazer, Wave, you run perimeter. Contain and rescue, Frosty and I can give stubborn head back up inside the museum" Gears instructed.
They dispatched, Bazer running through demons before they could react as Violet made it into the museum. Wave took to the sky to help Blazer out as Slade ran towards the big demons slashing through the smaller ones that got in his way. Maverick flew at the first one then he was attacked from both sides by flying demons.
"They have air support" Maverick said slamming the two heads of the demons together.
"Things are going to be tough" Gears responded blasting demons flying at him with a cannon.
Frosty hovered towards the entrance freezing demons in his path then made a ten-foot sword and took off the heads of five in one swing.
"Thank you, Brother Ferdinand!" he echoed hovering through them swinging his blade and killing them.
Slade slashed the chest of a demon then jumped on the face of another and used it as a lunch pad to jump in the air shooting his two axe heads into the ground then pulled himself. He shot through the air with his right leg sticking out kicking one of the large demons in the gut sending him feet back. Maverick flew at the other landing two punches to its face before getting punched into the ground. He quickly got up using his two hands to hit the demon in the gut sending him meters back.
Blazer ran through the streets at supersonic speeds punching demons in his path, his fists were covered in flames punching through demons and headbutting one. Demons set an ambush for him with air units flying at him from all directions.
"You disgust me" Blazer said spinning to create a fire tornado.
The tornado incinerated the demons as they came and melted a couple cars close to him, he then sped off punching demons and curbing their spread covering a two-block radius.
Wave was his eyes in the sky using a sonic cannon to blast both flying and land demons. While firing at them, he spotted a family taking refuge in a China store.
"Blazer, cover for me. We have civilians in the warzone"
"Copy" Blazer said running under him.
Wave flew down blasting the demons then getting to the family of four.
"Oh, thank goodness" their father said.
"We have to move now; these demons are not letting up" Wave said blasting some as they tried to enter the store.
"How do we do that?" The mother asked.
"Don't worry" Wave assured them. "Blazer, rescue"
"On it" Blazer answered making a U-turn and heading in his direction.
"Cover your ears" Wave said.
Panels on the back of his suit stood up as the family covered their ears and they began to vibrate unleashing a sonic scream causing glass and chinaware to burst along with demon heads. As this happened, Blazer zoomed in taking out one family member after the other to safe locations and once evacuated, he stopped. Multiple demon heads busted along with some in the sky in a thirty-foot circular radius.
"So much for being tough" Wave commented.
Violet hopped over a desk throwing three shurikens in the process, the shurikens flew hitting demons right in the head killing them. She got out two kunais from her utility belt and sprinted deeper into the museum as demons charged at her. She ran right at them slitting the throat of the first then twirling to stab into the side of the head then pulling out her Kunai and throwing it into the chest of another. She darted forward pulling out her kunai before the demon collapsed to the ground, she got out three mini grenades and threw them into the path of the demons.
"Sorry artifacts but the lives of the people are more important" she said as they went off.
She ran through the smoke throwing her kunais in the air and bringing down two more demons as she pushed deeper into the museum.
Gears shot on every side as the demons surrounded him.
"Not good, not good, not good" he repeated shooting on his left and right.
A demon attacked him from behind trying to tear away his armor, he shot it in the head then another grabbed him by the leg and threw him to the ground. He landed on his back and began to fire while flying backwards then up as more demons jumped on him and pulled him down. More and more covered him until they were a big heap. A blinding white light busted through them as Gears flew out and land on the ground with a classic hero landing. He diverted power to his core, and he used it to blast out.
"Computer, engage full scale battle mode" he said with strands of his hair fallen and dangling.
"Yes sir" the female voice answered.
"Time to take out the trash" Gears said in a cold voice.
A plasma cannon appeared on his right arm and a proton blaster on the left, swarm missiles sat on his shoulders as a grenade launcher and machine gun were hoisted up on his back. The glow from the lights on his suit had turned red.
He blasted off flying straight for the demons with Frosty held up at the entrance freezing and chopping off demon parts. He sent all his missiles ahead blowing them to bits as he shot at them with his blasters. His machine gun acted independently and so did his grenade launcher shooting at clusters of them. Gears moved through the streets mowing demons down, he blasted some then turned his proton blaster into a laser gun spinning and slicing a good number of demons in half then shot twice with his grenade launcher clearing a path. He flew through the path using his laser to split them in half with his machine gun facing backwards and shooting demons and he shot up with his plasma cannon.
"Heck yeah! Man's gone full warrior" Frosty cheered slamming a demon in the face with an ice mallet.
"Frosty, get back!" Gears screamed.
Frosty jumped back with Gears shooting his grenade launcher dispersing the demons blocking the entrance.
"Let's go" Gears said flying in and Frosty followed.
Maverick delivered three colossal punches to the head before getting punched down by the demon, he was stomped on then kicked away. He rolled on the ground then stopped after hitting a streetlight, he looked at the demon and saw a car flying at him. He caught it with one arm and sent it back to the demon.
"Alright demon, round two" Maverick said before flying at him.
Demons stood in his way, and he had no trouble punching them away as he made his way forward, air units picked him up from the back and he grabbed it by the neck and used the demon to swat away it's friends before throwing it into the ground headfirst. He flew back at the big demon delivering two jabs before his cape was grabbed and he was thrown into a building. He quickly recovered seeing the demon preparing to jump down on him, he moved swiftly getting out of the way as three buildings shattered when the demon landed. Maverick moved fast punching the demon in the back then zoomed to its front when it turned its head to the back and punched it two blocks away. The demon flew over Blazer who was landing multiple punches in the blink of an eye on the chest of a demon before landing one final blow bursting its chest open.
The demon rolled to its feet as Maverick flew at him landing another critical blow, the demon held on to buildings as it skid back. Maverick flew to its head landing three blows then grabbed it by the shoulder and threw the demon up following it up with more blows to the got. He carried the demon into the stratosphere then went around it and slammed it down with both fists, he carried the demon down as it began to produce flames as they dropped to Earth. The demon twisted its body and got a hold of Maverick squeezing him with both arms in a bear hug.
"If I'm going down, you're going down with me" the demon said with dark and cracked voice.
"Like hell I am" Maverick said as he broke free from his grip.
He flew down at the demon landing one of his strongest blows to date as it produced a shockwave that cleared clouds in the sky. The demon shot down to Earth making a big crater on impact knocked out.
"You are all annoying" Slade said pissed at the demons slicing one in half from the head all the way down the middle.
He sidestepped twice while walking backwards to dodge a demon's attack then sliced its head, two flying demons flew from both sides, and he spotted it quickly. He simply did a back flip as the two crashed into each other, with his guard dropped, the big demon he was facing punched him as he ricocheted of a car and crashed into another. He was covered by a shadow as the demon wanted to stamp down on him, he disappeared at the last moment and was taken to the top of a building next to the demon. He held his stomach as he was bruised now, he ran charging to the edge then jumped off, the demon saw him coming and swung his fist at him, Slade stuck out his left hand which he used to propel himself into a flip over the hand as he aimed to cut the demon on the chest, right before he could land his strike, a demon hit him from the side into a building. The demon the punched him trying to punch him through but as he hit, he was hit with instant pain, he pulled out his fist and Slade's sword was stuck in it sealing his fist shut. He tried to pull it out, but the sword wouldn't budge, Slade then appeared in the air behind him holding a trident.
"Die demon" he said.
At the corner of his eye, he was a demon coming for him then saw two more, one from behind and another from the right. He spun the trident then stabbed into the demon from the left then threw him into the demon from the right. He twirled around knocking the brains out of the demon from behind then released the demon when he faced forward with the trident hitting its mark, the back of the demon's head. The demon scowled before dropping to the ground dead. The trident disappeared and Slade held out his right hand for his sword to appear in it.
"That's for hitting me"
