Chapter 12 - Imposter 《IV》

It was at this point at Laine knew.

He fucked up.

Gray Launched himself at unnatural speeds for an 11 year old and rammed into the wall behind Laine as he momentarily lost his footing. The culprit of the slippery floor was Laine. Who then fixed it and bolted out of the room, sprinting down the corridors as people stared and shouted at him for bumping into some of them.

That didn't last long though, Gray soon broke down their door, after storing his plushies away of course, and jetted down the hallway towards Laine. Everyone remembered who they were after seeing the rampant blue lightning that Gray showed off during their duels and decided to back off and leave them to it.

It was a smart choice since the flooring began to spark, heat up and distort. This was from the chaotic lightning and the mini metal pads that Laine used to launch himself.

They zoomed through the hallways and arrived at the elevators.

Not bothering to wait for one, Laine charged at an elevator at the layer below them and ripped open the doors. He then started leaping from part to part using the metal and his speed. Gray soon followed and bolted up faster than Laine, considerably catching up by the time they both exited at the third layer.

Attempting to lead him towards the training room in the hope of surviving using a function the twins had to use to survive many, many times.

The Barrier function. When someone is near death, the offenders will be kept inside the barrier while the others will be thrown out of the barrier to yet another barrier for safety.

To Laine, who insulted the insane Foodie's favorite food, that barrier was his last hope.

The two charged through the path towards the hall and left indents as they bounced off the walls. The only reason the walls weren't completely broken was because of the metal they were made of. The reason they were so weak was because many believed people wouldn't do such a thing like jumping and bouncing off the walls to chase someone, or to escape someone in the Venlier of all places. That's how insane the two were.

They were insane enough to break the rules in a ship managed by a Half-Ascended Armadillian.

A Pseudo Rank 6 From Aeris.

Common sense didn't apply when you considered the two's sanity levels.

And so, they continued using their elements to launch themselves through the hallways, the creaking and shaking of metal echoed throughout the layer as Gray proceeded to speed after Laine in a game of cat and mouse.

Until a straight corridor was reached.

Laine smashed against a wall and propelled himself down the straight path, soon after, Gray reached the same wall. Gray, however, stopped and connected to the wall with his lightning.

Around Gray, the air began to vibrate as the cerulean lightning began to build up around him. Slowly, the lightning gathered around his legs as he bent them, still glaring at Laine with bloodshot eyes.

Soon, the lightning merged with his legs and hips. Veins of glowing blue shimmered across them and he pushed off the wall. The built up lightning shot out, spreading out across the area, zapping metal and other materials alike. A yellow-brown Lightning began to come out of Gray's golden eyes as he focused more and more on catching Laine.

He propelled himself towards Laine like a bullet. His bones creaked and his muscles tore, his blood pumped faster than it ever had before. His hair waved wildly as if a turbine was in front of him. His veins, red and blue alike began to bulge slightly as his skin began to tear in places.

Gray was willing to destroy his body to kill someone who insulted food.

Gray appeared next to Laine near instantly, giving him just enough time to block the right straight that swung directly for his nape. Metal and earth from Laine's ring condensed into a shield, blocking the hit but pushing him further along the corridor. Cold sweat built up on Laine's body as Gray had subconsciously been using bloodlust that only got thicker over time.

Even though Gray showcased a potent bloodlust, Laine didn't think Gray was from the 'future' still. The main reason being that Gray had built up bloodlust before, via a teacher's guidance in a combat class two years ago. Not only that but Gray had a talent for handling bloodlust. Just not for creating a thicker version or acquiring more.

A tunnel began to appear in Gray's vision, with Laine at the end of it. His sclera and pupil at this point had turned a dark royal blue with the iris a complete and tyrannical golden color.

It was at this point that Laine was done with the bullshit that came with insulting food.

'For fuck's sake! He forcefully entered his 'Emperor Form' at age 11!?

OVER FOOD!!'

Laine was worried, not over himself, as he'd be able to combat him, but over whether Gray's 11 year old body could take it or not.

As Laine's worries began to take form in a slight red that appeared in Gray's gold iris, he saw the arena. He charged towards the nearest one, not caring about the people.

Laine bellowed at the people in there.

"MOVE!"

They all were shocked at Gray and ran out in time for Laine to enter and turn to face Gray, who had finally stopped and stared at Laine, crazed.

They now were ready to face off with two different objectives in their mind.

'I MUST (KILL / KNOCK) HIM (-OUT)'

The two slammed into each other, hands locked and pushing with all their strength, forming miniature shockwaves with what little strength they had.

Gray and Laine pulled back, about to punch each other with their strength when a sudden Aura froze them in place, forcefully de-activating Gray's Emperor Form and Laine's almost fully formed state.

Gray was picked up by a black metallic hand with bronze runes representing different spells while Laine was picked up by a delicate healthy pale hand with white scales on the middle of the back of it.

They turned to see the culprits, finding them familiar.

A single thought went through the people's minds.

'Who's that?'

A single, subconsciously said sentence from Gray as he looked at Sebastian turned the air heavy.

"Are you someone's grandpa?"

Everyone gawked, gaped and gazed at Gray with a look that said 'ARE YOU INSANE?'.

They turned to the Guardian and got the impression he was looking at Gray with a raised eyebrow.

The thing that came after, however, left all of them speechless.
