CHAPTER 4
It's 9 in the morning. I woke up feeling nauseated again. Last night was just mad. Who is she? She knew him. And she knew me.
"Where is he!!"
"He'll regret it. You will suffer."
Those word rang back inside my head while I bathed myself. Her eyes were blazing with anger and she looked evil. She might be a Firene. Just like Damiro. And speaking of the devil, I haven't seen him yesterday. And I can't seem to understand myself why I became impassive after promising him the marriage. I don't understand why I feel…somehow, accepting it. Maybe because I have made up my mind. I will get my Papa from them, I'll marry in exchange for him. I'll do it.
I turned off the water and was about to grab my towel when I felt a warm calloused hand snaked on my waist. I froze when I felt a person's presence behind me.
"Good morning." He whispered and brushed the tip of his nose on my wet and bare shoulders. I can feel his warm breath on my cold skin and his warm hand started tracing invisible lines on my stomach. My knees trembled and my breath would stop every time he brushed his nose on my shoulder. I moved forward and escaped from his touch. Anger rose inside me but I can't seem to move my tongue to speak. Damn!
I grabbed my towel and wrapped it on my body and I faced him. The devil was smirking and his menacing eyes gazed down on my body but I didn't even flinch. This pervert jerk needs a lesson.
I looked at him in the eye and faked a flirty smile. I stepped closer to him and slowly draped my arms on his neck. He smiled at me and just after that, with all my might, I kicked him right in his precious ballie.
"F*CK!" he cursed loudly and he fell off of his knees and into the tiled floor whimpering while holding his groin. Feeling satisfied, I stepped aside and walked out of the bathroom.
"Pervert!" I finally can speak. That devil used his power on me. Taking advantage to do his wicked schemes.
I hurriedly put on my clothes as he walked out of the bathroom looking pissed. I scoffed and glared at him. Pervert! I'm not in the mood to make fights today. I just loathed him more! He frowned and sat on my bed silently. The nerve of this guy. I wanna smack him hard on the face and strangle him until his out of breath. Ahhrgg!
"What the hell are you doing here?" I reprimanded and faced him. My temples just throbbing from anger and what happened last night still haven't sunk in my brain.
He glared at me and stepped closer. The nerve of this jerk! Just wait and I'll have the time to kill you son of a devil!
He sat on the bed with his knees wide apart and stared at me with no emotions at all.
"Can you leave?!" I flared and with gritted teeth, I looked down at him.
" Let's go." He said. He stood up and walked to the doors.
"No. We're not leaving just yet!" I said and my brows furrowed.
"I'll give you an hour. Bring everything you desire to bring and we'll go. " He said with finality before he stopped and faced me again. I stared at him unbelievably.
" The promise. When will we get married." He looked at me with his indecipherable eyes.
"A day before your birthday. That's when we'll get married." He answered and then turned his back from me.
"My father..."
"When will I see him?" He stopped midstep and glanced back at me. He smirked and I knew...
"Today. "
--
I don't know how Damiro convinced my mama that I'll be with him, but one thing's for sure. They seemed so fond of him and happy that I'll be with him. While they were talking, I was silent and would speak only if he wants me too. He cast a spell on me! He put a spell on them!
"This is your room." He showed me around the Layngob- the cave. At first I thought that it was their palace but I was wrong. Damiro brought me farther until we were out of the cave, and my jaw dropped when I saw how huge their palace is. It was dark and gloomy palace but still upholds beauty despite of its nature. There were guards standing stiffly like a statue on every corners. There were Firenes fighting in training with their blazing fires, some of them were already wounded and some of them were already lying on the ground, unconscious.
I looked around the huge room. It's renaissance themed bedroom and it looks magical. The huge window directly upfront the setting sun behind the mountains and the wind breeze is as calming as music. He sat on the bed and stared outside. I walked to the window and opened it more widely. The wind blew my hair and the cold nipped against my pale skin.
"Where is he?" I asked him. Pertaining to my Papa.
"In the dungeon" he said and it cuts my heart. He's been locked up, huh? Papa...
-
We walked along the dark hall. I was walking quietly behind him. There were screams and loud noises coming somewhere behind the dark. The agonizing pain behind their screams and the cold sent shivers down my spine and I can't take it. I put my hands on my ears to stopped myself from hearing them.
"Listen. Hear their screams, their pain? Yours will be much worse if you're gonna break your promise. Remember that Celeste." He said.
We arrived inside a dark and cold dungeon. It was different and secluded than the other dungeons where they kept their prisoners, more likely, they are their food.
"Papa" a word that naturally escaped from my mouth. Tears started to form in my eyes as I examined the dark room.
Damiro stood behind me. Watching. As I stepped forward, my hands started to glow. There was a small fire flickering in my palms. I took a deep breathe as I lifted it and swirl it to ignite the fire more. A few more seconds of doing it, the fire grew more, enough for me to light a part of the room.
My eyes scanned the room and there, I saw a man. Sitting, shivering through the cold and biting his dirty fingers. He looked food deprived. His body was so skinny and I can see his bones protruding through his skin. His clothes were ripped, dirt all over his body and his white and long hair almost covering his whole face.
A tear escaped from my eyes. My heart was aching so badly as I looked at him. He's suffered enough and that's it. That's enough.
"Papa" I whispered in the air and stepped closer to the bars.
"Papa! It's me...Papa, it's me, Talia!" I cried and fell on my knees.
Tears kept on falling from my eyes and my fire slowly faded until it was flickers left.
Papa looked at me blankly. He was just staring. He stopped biting his nails and he pointed them on me. They were shaking. His shivering stopped and he suddenly laughed.
"The prophecy! You!" He repeated them and his voice was trembling. Then seconds later, tears poured down his face. He cried hard and his eyes became unfocused as if he's gone mad.
"Papa...It's me, Talia. Y-you're daughter." I cried and begged him to remember me. What have they done to him?! I closed my eyes for a second. I can't see him like this. It hurts so bad.
I stood up and faced Damiro. In pure rage, I slapped him hard with my fire in my hand.
"WHAT DID YOU DO TO HIM?!" I felt my throat hurt after I yelled.
My heart hurt so much and I just can't stop myself from the pain. How could he! For years, my Papa stayed here, in the darkness of their world and in the evilness of the Firenes. Once I married him, I'll make sure he'll get out of here and I'll make sure they'll pay for what they've done!
"Let's go. You've seen him. We'll leave now. That's enough." His voice was lethal as he turned his back from me and I was left there. Crying and trembling in pain. He's heartless. He's evil. I laughed. What can I expect from the devil prince, huh?
I started walking, leaving the dungeon and passed the screaming voices. Hang in there Papa. I'll get you out of here, out of this world. We'll make it out. Alive.
A smirk crept on my lips. You want the devil, you'll get the devil in me. I make you pay for what you've done to my family, to the Dalessis. You pay for hurting my loved ones, Damiro.
