"Would you mind telling me what happened?" James asked Adrian. "After I came to Jennifer's home, I asked a few servants about where she was. One of them told me, she was in her room. I came to her room and knocked on the door. She didn't reply. I knocked again but no reply. So I tried to open the door forcefully but it was already opened. I came inside the room and heard the tap running. I called her name a few more time and since she didn't reply. I barged into the washroom and…..and .."
Adrian broke down right there James also sat on the floor right next to Adrian, comforting him. "You were such a stone before this girl entered your life and now you are literally, a jelly. My poor Adrian…" James thought to himself. After a few minutes Adrian stop crying. He got up wiped his tears and said "Let's go. She will be awake soon." James wanted to ask Adrian if he wanted to wait till the time Jennifer woke up but Adrian said, "I don't want her to know that I was the one who found her in the bathroom. Given the fact that she was naked at that time." "As you wish. Now what are you going to do. Leave her like this?" James asked again.
Adrien shook his head. He went outside the room with James behind him. The maid that told him Jennifer's location was cleaning the antique in the guest room. Adrian and James approached her. The maid bowed deeply. Adrian took out 100$ bill and handed it over to the maid. "Go inside Jennifer's room. You were the one to find her in the washroom." The maid understood the idea well enough. She bowed again. Then James and Adrian left Jennifer's home and headed home.
After some fifteen minutes, Jennifer slightly stirred up from her stupor. She opened her eyes and saw the maid sitting next to her. Before Jennifer could speak anything she said, " Ma'am, you fainted in the washroom. I brought you here and called the doctor." "Thank you." Jennifer said weakly. This was all she could say right now. How helpless she felt right now? The maid bowed and left. Jennifer lay there, staring at the ceiling. Within a few seconds again, her eyes were filled with tears.
Meanwhile, Adrian and James had went out with the thought that they would go home but within ten minutes Adrian was again restless. He shuffled around in his seat again and again. He opened his phone and closed it multiple times. James was noticing Adrian's every move. He placed a hand at his shoulder. Adrian's eyes met James eyes and James instantly order the driver to take a U-turn and head back to Jennifer's home once again.
When the car stopped in the drive way, Adrian hopped off the car. Within a few seconds, he was again standing in front of Jennifer's room door, contemplating hard whether to enter or turn back. James was by his side all the time. He very well understood that his best friend was conflicted, so he took the initiative to open the door. He grabbed Adrian's hand and took him inside. Adrian and James stepped inside the room to unveil a crying Jennifer, lying on her bed.
Adrian felt as though his heart had been snapped into two pieces. A psychological pain is more hurtful than a physical pain. Adrian usually wouldn't care about others crying. Cold behavior was all he knew but this one girl had twisted his behavior entirely. Seeing this one girl in pain was unbearable to him. Even Adrian was shocked at the extend of effect she had at him. Adrian slowly took a few steps in Jennifer's direction.
Jennifer flinched at a sudden entrance of a person. When Adrian was standing next to Jennifer, she opened her eyes to meet his chocolate brown orbs. This eye contact sent different kind of sensation in their bodies. It was soothing as well as wild. For the first second, it felt like a pure melody, a lullaby and the very next second it turned into a full scale rock concert. The tingling sensation, the energy they exchanged was beyond describable in words.
They both could stare at each other like this for hours but their moment was interrupted by James, clearing his throat to advert their attention to him. James came near the bed, crouched down next to Jennifer on the floor and said "Don't cry." Jennifer tried to sit up but her body didn't support her and she is slopped down on the bed again, lying flat against her back. Adrian quickly put a hand on Jennifer's head, preventing it from hitting the wooden headrest. "Don't push yourself. It's ok. Just lie down." Adrian said.
Jennifer once again wanted to cry but no more tears came out of her eyes. Her eyes reflected nothing but pure agony. Her sparkling, glittering eyes had turned into a cold, empty stare with only pain and sufferings in it. "You know, I really loved Winston. Abby was my childhood best friend. With them I thought my entire world was complete but now it feels as if everything is distorted." Jennifer said weakly. Then Jennifer gave an in detailed description of how her relationship with Winston was the sweetest and most pure relationship in her eyes, she gave all the incidents of Abby's and her friendship in perfect replication as if they had happened just yesterday.
At one point of time, Jennifer's misery was too much to handle for Adrian. Multiple times tears swelled into his eyes, which he fought by biting into his tounge. But now? It was enough! So he asked Jennifer out of the blue "Did you have your lunch?" trying to change the topic. Jennifer shook her head. "You did not have your lunch." Adrian's word's were strained. Firstly, she was crying, secondly, she fainted and now cherry on top! She hadn't had her lunch. All because of that bastard, Winston. Adrian's blood was boiling with hatred and anger. James held his hand to calm him down. "Then let me get you some food." James offered as he got up from the floor, beside Jennifer and went outside the room.
