Chapter 12 - Making A Friend

Daren wanted to clean himself up as there was quite a lot of dirt on his clothes and body. This was all from being buried by Melina.

His luxurious, silk attire may look decently clean but it had patches of dirt if one looked closely enough. Too bad that they were usually distracted by his immaculate face to pay attention to it.

Ever since he was revealed to be a cultivator by the city guards, Daren knew that he was getting too much attention. He was used to this as he would be hounded by media and paparazzi almost everywhere he went.

Simply putting on a cloak and covering his face in the city would jsut bring negative attention to him. it was better just to stick out as a rich, hot and young cultivator that was traveling the world.

Members of wealthy families liked to send out their cultivators youths to travel and learn more about the world. They wanted their youths to learn how commoners lived in order to manage in interact with them better.

As long as they taught their children well and they had sufficient personal understanding of the world around them, they could be given a peice of territory to manage without worries.

Daren walked into a small shop called "Rusky's Tailor Made". Inside were rows of mannequin lined with shiny, silk clothing.

This was where all the rich in the city would go to buy their clothes. Only the finest and softest silk cloths were what they could feel comfortable in.

The same applied for Daren since he only wore the most relaxing and comfortable clothes that one could find in the universe. His favorite was the clothes made by the Cordira Design's Company.

They used a special material called ''feather silk +" to make anything from hats and shoes to jackets and pants. As the name suggested, it was softer than silk and lighter than a feather.

If you were at the 0.00000001% of the wealthiest, you could get made every piece of clothing you wear to be tailored made for you by them.

Each and every piece would be unique as you were the only one who would have something like that. The designs could be chosen by you and then altered based on the company's recommendation.

They guaranteed their patrons that there was nothing exactly like the piece they owned. "It was more like art than clothes." is what all of his CEO acquaintances would say.

Each day, there would be something new clothes sent to you as to make sure you never repeated the same shirt or pant ever again. It truly was art.

Inside the shop were rows of wooden mannequins adorned with full sets of colorful clothes. Some had intricate patterns where others were just one color and nothing else.

The owner of the shop, named Rusky Dortho, was a burly man with squarish face and thin lips. His nose was slightly crooked as if he had broken it before and his black orange beard went down to his chest.

Rusky may have looked bald but he just cut his head hair on a daily basis because he did not like how curly it was. Since young, people made fun of him saying he had a birds nest on top of his head.

Rusky was seated in a blue, wooden chair. He was scribbling down ideas for clothes in a leather backed notebook. The pages were yellowish and the pen was a quill made from a special type of magic beast.

On the notebook were the initials of its owner in bright, golden color. (R.D.)

Daren stood in front of Rusky, waiting for him to take his attention off from his drawing so he could by some clothes. Daren stood there for more than 15 minutes.

Rusky was too engrossed in his little scribbles that he was completely detached from this world.

After what seemed like ages, he finally put away his quill and closed his book.

"Look at what the wind brought in today. Whats your name boy?. I have never found someone as patient as you in my shop." Rusky's voice was deep like the ocean and had a strange vitality in it. The loudness of his voice and its energy made him sound like a young teenager.

"Ummmm. I'm Daren. I just didn't want to bother someone who has such focus and dedication for their occupation. I respect people like you."

Daren wanted to use his actual name as he obviously would never speak of Alex's name. Even though the Zolaris Empire had no contact with Gigantus, he still would not risk it.

He was not strong enough yet.

Also, he wasn't lying about having respect for people who care about their crafts. He liked hardworking people who just wanted to make a living through dedication.

It was something Daren wanted to do in his very first life. He was a genius weapons inventor that got tossed aside just because he vomited on the wrong person.

He just wanted to work had and dedicate himself to his craft. Sadly, he never got to do it.

"Hahahaha. I already like you boy. How about a meal later tonight? I'll be free after sunset." Rusky was passionate man. As soon as he had heard Daren's response, there was like a connection formed between them.

Daren liked hardworking people and Rusky liked patient and respectful people. The seed of friendship had been formed in a single exchange.

"Sure. Can I call you brother Rusky then?" asked Daren. He felt that the man radiated feelings of kindness. One that they would find from a older sibling.

Daren was a single child so he had never felt that feeling personally but he had seen others around him with older siblings. The older brother and sister would always be there for the younger one.

All they would show their siblings was warmth and endearment.

"You call me brother Rusky and I'll call you little Daren. So whats it that you need little Daren?"

"I would like a set of clothes similiar to the ones I'm wearing right now. It would be good if I can also get one in the color red."

"I have exactly what you need." Rusky went to the back of the shop. he returned with two sets of buttoned shirts, pants and cloaks. One was a crimson red while the other was jet black.

Daren noticed that they were pretty much the same except for the crimson pants and shirt that had golden embroidery of medieval dragons's on the hem and sleeves respectfully.

"I really like that crimson set!! The color complements my icy blue hair and eyes with a fiery red. It will make me stand out even more among the girls. Hahahahha."

"That's why I brought It out for you. Hahahhahah."

The two brothers laughed and talked about life for a solid 3 minutes until another well dressed customer entered the store and Rusky had to attend to him.

Daren paid 90 silver for the 2 sets of clothes. Even though the price was almost 1 gold, Daren did not mind as he knew Rusky had given him a small discount. The clothes looked great on him and it was very soft silk.

Daren promised Rusky to meet at the Star Bear's restaurant as he was staying there and Rusky loved the food that reminded of his mother in the country side.

A commoner family could be well fed for 2 to 3 years with the money he had on hand currently. Darn was not satisfied with this amount as he was used to having hundreds of thousands of bank accounts being filed with hundreds of decillions of dollars. His company itself was worth way more.

(Decillion = 1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000)

The cleaning product business was quite lucrative after all.

"Daren snuck into a dark alleyway once again and shoved his clothes into the inventory after making sure there were no eyes on him.

He took out his black cloak and was surprised to find that it was no longer bloodied.
