Chapter 18 - Buying Property

The bystanders already had assumed that this goddess was probably his wife as the two looked very close.

Rusky was a slow thinker so he had not noticed the closeness between the two at first glance. He just saw his brother and was wondering what he was doing with another woman.

He had not even looked at the lady's face until now. He was surprised to see she that looked many times more beautiful than how Daren had described.

Somehow, Rusky was not fazed at all by Celina's beauty as if it was something he saw daily.

"Hi! Why don't you guys grab a seat." Celina said with a sweet smile while waving her pretty hands.

Rusky did as told and brought over two more chairs for Arlene and him to sit on. The two then sat down calmly.

"Brother Daren did not do your beauty justice while telling us about you." Exclaimed Arlene as she talked about how Daren described her in his story.

"Oh really. Tell me what to say. I want to know what my dear had to say about us!" Celina's smile know was a little twisted as she remembered Daren's storytime from last night.

The two girls went onto a conversation of their own while the two men just sat there quietly.

"Little brother, why is sister-in-law in the city? I thought she was with her sister in the village," asked Rusky.

"I forgot to tell you big brother but Celina and her sister arrived early this morning when the city gates opened. They needed to be here since the medicine is only made when someone puts a request for it. The medicine also has to be used within 24 hours or it losses its effects." Daren explained.

"So that's the case. Where's the younger sister then."

"She's in my room. I will let you see her when she's cured. She never liked being seen by people she did not know. She is very shy so I am sure she would not be happy to find out that you have seen her in that condition." Daren's tone was very sentimental and reminiscing.

"I understand brother but have you obtained the medicine."

"Not yet. I gave the order yesterday. Celina and I are going to pick it up today. "

"Then what are you guys waiting for?"

"We were just about to go after getting breakfast. Celina was craving good food because of traveling."

The table was quiet life as the group talked to each other about all sorts of things. Once they were done with breakfast, they said their goodbyes and went on their way.

Celina and Daren walked through town while being under the gaze of every person that was admiring Celina.

They entered the "Mary's Real Estate", It was a brick building with dark wood windows. It was just a one-floor building sandwiched between two, 5 story residential buildings made from gray stone.

Inside the office was tons of papers being spread out neatly on many sets of shelves. There was a neat table with a middle-aged, blue-haired woman wearing round glasses. She was writing on a yellow sheet of paper with patience.

She sees a couple entering her office and greets them with a smile. "Welcome. My name is Ashia Vender. Please take a seat." Ashia pointed at the two wooden chairs that were in front of her desk.

Celina took the left seat while Daren took the right.

"Can I ask for your names?" Ashia politely asked while smiling.

"I am Daren Frince and this is my wife, Celina Frince." answered Daren with his charismatic smile.

"Nice to meet you. What kind of property are you looking for?" asked Ashia.

"I'm looking for a well-built store in the central part of the trading district if possible." requested Daren.

"Ah. I currently only have one property available for purchase but I'm not sure you would be willing to buy it. The price is set at 55 gold rather than the market price of 30 gold."

"How is the quality and location of the shop?" asked Celina.

"Its location is on one of the more busy streets of the central trade districts. There are also no notable shops around it to take away attention. The building is two floors high with the shop on the bottom and living space on top. The total size is 800 meters squared."

"I'll take it," announced Daren with vigor. Celina then touched his shoulder.

"Isn't the price much higher than it should be honey. Why don't we try to negotiate the price down." Celina made a concerned expression at Daren.

"Fine honey. I know you want to live frugally since we didn't have much money before. Miss Vender, is it possible to call over the owner so we can try to get a better price. "

"Yes. I can call them over tomorrow morning at this time. Are you available for that?"

"That time sounds fine. Can we ask for the store's name so we can scout it out ahead of time?" asked Celina.

"It's called the Mobby's Grocery."

"Thank you for your time. We shall meet again tomorrow," said Daren as he and Celina left the office.

"Let's go take a look at this shop that's charging 25 gold more than its worth. You can buy anything you want along the way," said Daren as they walked toward the trading district.

As the biggest trading district within the human nations, if it doesn't have a certain product, then no one does.

"I don't really need you to pay for me. All your money sits inside the system anyways and I can access it whenever I want. I can even materialize and materialize into the system any time I want. "

"Really., that's broken. Okay then. It is better to stay with me though. I don't want anyone to make any moves on you when I'm not around."

The two reached the central trading district. Some countless streets and paths were bustling with people. Some were bargaining for a better price while others were just looking around for the things that interested them.

"The store is actually in a good location. Too bad that it's too dull and its products are not on display. I really wonder why the price is so high though. Eh, I guess we will get to know tomorrow." Daren said.

In front of him was a nice-looking, gray-stoned building that had been carved with many intricate designs. There was nothing in front of the store and there seemed to be nothing on the inside as well.

There was just a huge wooden board with the words "Mobby's Grocery" carved out badly.

Daren and Celina spent the day at the market. Daren was looking at what this world had to offer and to see if there would be any competition for the products he was going to sell.

Celina had a fun time buying small trinkets and accessories for herself as the system could only create clothes for her. Every vendor would always give her a discount when they were in awe of her beauty.

Her figure was truly head-turning even in men's clothes.

By the time that they had explored the entire, the sun was already setting. They hurried back to the inn, ordered dinner, and rushed into Daren's room when they were done.

This all so they could avoid Rusky and not have to tell him anything about the medicine being a success or not. They had no one to feed the medicine too so they never bought it.

Daren already had a plan. He would say that the medicine failed and he had to send the little girl back to the Elroy Kingdom. That was a nation that bordered Gigantus to the east.

The Elroy Kingdom specialized in medicine and was the best and biggest hospital in the human realm. The reason why Celina would have stayed back was so she could start a business in the city.

She was planning on making more money so they could pay for her little sister's medical fees. Daren would help her with whatever she needed.

Daren said exactly that when he met with Rusky and her sister for breakfast in the morning without Celina joining them.

Celina was supposedly eating breakfast in her room because she was distraught from the medicine not working and having to send her sister away to a faraway place.

Daren said his goodbyes to the sibling pair and went to the real estate office. There, he was greeted by Ashia and another middle-aged lady.

The middle-aged lady looked much older than her actual age as she had dark circles under her eyes and her pretty face looked dry and lifeless.

Daren sat down and introduced himself to the lady and she did the same.

"Mrs. Mason, I was wondering if you could lower the price of the property by 55 coins to 35. I know that this is a drastic decrease but the price is I'm offering is already 5 gold higher than the market price."

The lady had introduced herself as Mrs.Mason to Daren so that is how he addressed her.

"I know that the price I put up is much higher than the markets but I can't really afford to do so. My husband and I used to run the store together. We made enough money with our high-quality vegetables and fruits to feed our two boys well and send them to the scholar academy.

6 months ago, my husband became severely ill with a disease that paralyzed his legs. Forcing him to stay home.

He was the real expert in sales and I just helped around so I could not run the store without him. With our savings, we could afford to keep our son's education going for a bit but we will run out soon.

With the money from the store's sale, we could get enough money to cure my husband and have enough to try and start a business again. 30 gold would not be enough for that. "

Daren understood that this person's family was in quite a miserable state but he could not take a loss in business to just help them.

Instead, he could only make an offer that would be beneficial to both sides.

" I understand your situation but I can not throw away my hard-earned money in that way. How about this instead. I will pay 35 gold for the shop as I offered and will also offer you and your husband a job at our establishment. I and my wife will be busy creating the products so we won't be managing the store full time. You guys can get a great price for the store and also have an adventured income for a while."

Daren's offer was great for himself as he would be busy creating products for his store, setting up his organization, and accompanying Celina on her excursions.

If he could hire the husband and wife, who he had already confirmed had great experience and skills running a store, then he could save time finding to hire others.

After a long period of deliberation, Mrs.Mason accepted. "I think I'll take that offer but may I ask what you are going to be selling?"

"Soap," said Daren.
