I locked eyes with Feleshia, as fear struck her unmoving body. Magic circles resonated from each one of my eyes. "Do not be afraid. We have come this far, let's finish this together.", I said as my eyes lit up bright red. Feleshia shook her head back and forth saying, "what is happening? I don't feel so scared anymore. Come on Dracul let's finish this.". We finished walking into the final room of the cavern to meet the creature that struck fear into the shapeshifter's heart. A king stone cobra fifty feet in length, with stripes of dark and light brown covering its entire body, quickly came into view as we prepared for battle. The serpent was bigger than any monster I had seen up to this point. The snake was level thirty seven, and I noticed the border around its title was wrapped in gold. It's head raised high above ours, but it's petrifying gaze never faded. It's neck flared out in cobra fashion, and it's humongous body stayed coiled next to the back wall. The king stone cobra was prepared for battle, waiting to see how the two of us would respond. "Feleshia, is there anyway you can fight without taunting him?". "Not in bear form no, however I can shift into a more damaging role that I just obtained from leveling up.", Feleshia answered. "Good. Take that form and leave the brunt of this thing to me. Make sure to evade any attacks that come your way. Damage is secondary to survival.". Feleshia nodded in agreement as her form once more began to change. The large features of the bear began to fade away, as a slightly smaller four legged beast emerged. Her ears stayed pointed with her earrings, her long fur receded to a such shorter and more smooth coat. After only a few seconds her form took the shape of a lioness. I was amazed as she changed, becoming so intrigued by her transformation that I almost forgot we were preparing for a fight. "I am ready when you are Dracul. We can begin as soon as you want.", she said as she crouched down into a stalking stance. Blood began to pour down from the roof, and my blood swirling armor was now equipped. A spear in the grasp of my right hand, and a shield in my left. "Let's begin", I stated I as did a little shapeshifting of my own. Veins, claws, wings, and fangs all exposed to their fullest extent.
Feleshia and I began the exchange. I threw my spear just after regaining the small amount of heal cost to cast my blood magic. As the first spear gashed into the stone serpent, another appeared in my hand. Like a bolt of lightning Feleshia was up close to the king cobra, gnashing and clawing away at it's massive body. Her attacks didn't damage the monster much, but that wasn't necessarily a bad thing. That meant that the beast would focus it's attention more on me, as I was the greater threat. Also any damage done was a big help. It seemed as if this monster was a lot more tough than any I had fought. My spear even only hit the monstrous health bar for minimal damage. The serpent gapped open its mouth, and just like my skill a brown magic circle came forth and a gigantic boulder shot out toward me. Using shadow step I avoided the attack, but only to see another coming, then another and another. I dodged as many that came, then threw a spear at the final flying boulder. It smashed into millions of pieces and scattered across the ground. Feleshia had been putting up a fight dropping the monsters health little by little, however because I hadn't landed an attack, or have any ability to taunt the massive snake it set its gaze on the lioness. "Feleshia move!", I yelled just in time. She dashed away just before it's tail crashed down where she was staging her attacks. "Blood Beam.", I said calmly as Feleshia thanked me for my warning. The crimson beam hit the dungeon boss square in the middle of its body. With its health now down to three quarters, and its attention back on me, the lioness began to mangle the snake once more. Brown magic circles appeared all around me, I flew up and to my left, but then noticed more circles above me. I dropped my spear and shield, shadow stepping near the cobra's large head. Just as I moved stalagmites and stalactites bursted out from the floor and ceiling. Now in close quarter combat, my claws began to hack and slash at the boss. Feleshia and I were clawing the monsters health down to half, when all of a sudden it's skin no longer just looked like the rocks around the room, but it was the rocks. Our claws and fangs damage was drastically reduced. "Blood Rage", I went all out cracking the snakes rock amor as Feleshia pounced back in slashing one of the cracks into a hole that exposed the shanked true body. She continued to slash the snake open with her paws and gnarling out chucks of bloody meat. Another blood beam stuck the boss's head cracking open its rock hard shell. Then I dove down flying claws first into the monsters brains, and shot out the back side of its head. The cobra crashed to the floor as all of its armor fell off. Still harboring a small amount of health Feleshia wrapped her lion jaws around the monsters throat, and finish off the beast. With blood covering her face and paws, she turned with a huge smile on her face, "We did it!", she screamed out in joy. Feleshia's form changed back into its original state, and and even bigger smile came forward as her level was now up to thirty.
"Look Dracul I no longer have to take the full form of one animal.", she said as she began to change to show off her new ability. She did in fact retain her beautiful dark elvish figure. A loin head without a lower jaw formed and rested on her head. Then her hands and feet took on the paws of the bear, while a long lioness tail grew out from behind her. "Now I can be sturdy and fast at the same time.", she said as we walked back out of the boss room. I also leveled up to to match the giant cobra's level at thirty seven. "Thank you, Feleshia this was the perfect place for me to gain the experience I needed.", I said with full gratitude. We laughed and talked as we walked back to the entrance to the cavern. Upon reaching the opening we noticed that it was roughly mid day, which meant that Feleshia could not exit the cavern. "Guess it's time for a nap.", she said as curled up into a ball next to the entrance, in a section on the cavern where the sun's light wouldn't reach. She quickly fell asleep as I sat next to her head, keeping watch until nightfall.
