Feleshia paid for the room we would stay in for the day, then we headed down toward the market. We made our way down the hall carved into the branch and headed toward the market place on the lowest level. "Is there anything that you are specificity looking for in the market Feleshia?", I inquired. "Nothing in particular Dracul. I just thought I would show you around while we kill time.", Feleshia answered. As we reached the bottom of the spiraled staircase Feleshia grabbed my hand and shot off towards the nearest store. There were so many places to buy so many different items. There were blacksmiths, tailors, leather workers, enchanted items, jewelers, wood workers, and a multitude of various day to day shops. Things like food vendors, bars, and social hubs scattered throughout the market. Spider silk farmers sold quality silk to tailors as we passed by. "What is your profession Dracul?", Feleshia asked as we passed the silk farmers. "I do not have one. How about you?", I replied. "I am a hunter, and leather worker.", she answered as she shown off her current leather armor. "You made that by yourself?". "I did. I hunted down some black wolves, killed and skinned them myself. Then I tanned the hides and crafted this very armor.", Feleshia said with a smile. "That is quite impressive.", I said admiring the craftsmanship as well as the dark elf that wore it. "It is also a good way to make some extra money. If I do not have use for the skins I sell them here in the market. How do you make money Dracul?", she asked as we walked into an alchemy shop named "Potions & Poisons". "I haven't had to make any money. I have only ever fought as a slave and a monster inside the arena. Neither slaves nor monsters get paid to fight. However it would be helpful if I had some way to make money. There may come a time where I need money." "Well you could skin and do leather working like me.", Feleshia said smiling once more as we gazed around the shop. "I don't think that's best for me. I usually slaughter anything I come across far beyond being able to use its skin. I am considering alchemy and becoming and herbalist.", I answered. Just as the words came from my mouth the owner of the store rushed over to Feleshia and me. "If you are interested I can get you started. My name is Loret, and I am a master alchemist and herbalist.", the owner now shaking my hand rapidity. "Sorry if I'm a little jittery. I have been experimenting with some potions and may have went a little overboard.", Loret said as she laughed historically. "Sure I will give it a try.", I responded to Loret. After speaking those words I heard the robot like voice again. "Professions chosen. Dracul Bloodfiend is now able to appraise and gather herbs as a herbalist, and mix herbs and toxins into potions and poisons as an alchemist.", the voice rang out in my head. Loret handed me some papers that proved that I was in fact a novice herbalist and alchemist, along with a few small books containing different known plants, potion recipes, and poison recipes. As she explained the basics to me I noticed Feleshia was headed toward the counter to purchase some more of the plants I saw her eating inside the snake pit dungeon we had conquered. I focused my eyes on the herbs. My eyes lit a light green and I then saw basic information about the plant. The plant was dark yarrow, it had medium healing properties and could be used in health potions. Feleshia made her purchase and we left the shop as we waved goodbye to Loret.
"We need to make one more stop now that you have a profession Dracul.", the young dark elf stated as she rushed through the market grasping my hand. "Where are we going?", I asked. "We need to get you some inventory bags. You will need them to gather herbs and hold multiple potions.", she said as we were now in front of a kiosk near the spiral wooden staircase. Feleshia bought four black spider silk bags, handing three of them to me, and keeping one for herself. We then headed up the stairs and back to our hotel. I thanked Feleshia for everything that she had done for me as we walked. To which she responded, "don't worry about it Dracul. Just consider it payment for saving my life and helping to level me up even though you didn't have to.", she said with a giggle.
It must have been roughly ten a.m as we entered our room. Feleshia jumped straight into the bed and snuggled herself beneath the silken blankets. I on the other hand walked up the wall, onto the ceiling. "Dracul the wolvarians aren't all that bright, but they are strong. They are also pack hunters, and use ambushing tactics to take down enemies that are more powerful than they are, so we should keep our eyes open out there. It is likely that they will try those tactics when you enter into their territory.". "Thanks for the heads up Feleshia. I am positive that we will have them running deep within the Nightshire. You are not the same dark elf that you were before, and I... well I am Dracul Bloodfiend. I will decimate anything that bows it's chest towards us. We are sure to destroy the wolvarians.". "I haven't known you long Dracul, but it seem to me that you are always ready to grow in strength. Why is that? Why do you need to be so strong?", Feleshia asked peeking up toward my upside down face. "I will avenge my family. I have to. The king and any who side with him will die a miserable, painful, and slow death. Their pain will be unending. Then my family can rest in peace.".
