"Boo bitch!" A figure jumped in front of me as soon as I stepped out of my house. "Crap!! Lily!??!?!!" The dark haired girl smiled at me, "Happy birthday!! I'm glad it's you this time... Your mom was very confused earlier."
"Wait you yelled 'boo bitch' at my mom?"
"Yep! Since it's your special day, I thought I could drive you to school since I can't celebrate with you there," She trailed off, "You know sometimes I don't really like being the oldest..."
"So, I don't have to walk today? Are you picking me up too?" She grinned at me again, "Of course, but we have a little surprise for you when you're out of school," She started to walk to her car expecting me to follow, "Since it's Friday we can stay up late. Oh speaking of school I have class in a little bit, so let's hurry up." She rushed me into the car and took off probably a lot faster than the speed limit. I don't know, I never got my drivers license.
"So, are you giving me any hints as to what this 'surprise' is?" I asked Lily. She took her eyes off the road for a second to see if I was being serious. "Well, it wouldn't really be a surprise if I told you now would it?"
"I guess not, but like just a hint?"
"No way, I made a promise I wouldn't say anything. We're here, now get out before I say anything." She waved me goodbye.
"Yeah yeah okay, bye."
"Have a good day at school!" She yelled as the door closed.
And just like that, she sped off and I was at school. "Xavier!!" A rather chipper voice called my name. I turned and was met by Lexi and her girlfriend Kaylen. "Oh, hi guys." I braced myself for them to talk shit about my ex boyfriend, but they didn't. They never liked him, so it was only reasonable that they would. Actually, nobody really liked him after we started dating, that probably should have been a red flag. "Happy birthday buddy."
"Thanks, hey where's Hunter and Isaiah?" I looked around and saw no trace of the two boys. "Hunter went to class early to see if he could make up some missing work and Isaiah's probably in trouble... again." Kaylen sighed.
"Oh shit, right. I forgot I have to go talk to my math teacher about my grade, it's kind of in the yikes area." I waved goodbye to my friends and ran off.
