I can't believe how clumsy I can get sometimes. Detention was fine excluding the part where I fell over. I swear that door has it in for me.
At first it wouldn't open when I gave it a gentle push, and when I push harder it just automatically opens by itself? See what I mean? It definitely loathes me.
Otherwise why would it do that to me?
I totally looked foolish and now that Conway must think I'm a freak. I'm just glad I'm home now.
Darion Ja Von's "opportunity" is on full blast through my headphones as I hum along with it. I take the money aunt Boity left for me and exit the house.
I arrive at the local corner shop and buy a dozen eggs. The cashier hands me my change and I turn around, bumping into a hard wall I know wasn't there a minute ago.
The container drops out of my grasp onto the hard wall standing in front of me. A gasp leaves my mouth, my eyes bulging upon seeing who is standing in front of me covered in eggs.
"Zues why have you forsaken me? Press the rewind button please. I'll close my eyes and when I open them again I'll be back in my room, okay?" I mentally converse with myself. So I close my eyes and open them again.
The cold hues of amber pierce through me as he locks his gaze onto me. Irritation very evident on his face as his prominent nose flares.
What's he doing in my neighborhood? Ugh my life just keeps getting better and better.
"I...uh...I- I'm so sorry. I didn't-" I stutter while putting my headphones around my neck and making a mental note to have a serious talk with Zues when I get home. That's if I make it out of here alive.
"What the fuck? " He booms cutting me off. I keep my head down stealing glances at his egg covered clothes.
"What's wrong with you? Look what you did!" He slightly panics and I totally think he's being dramatic but I still try to say something.
"Just get out my sight!" He beats me to it and pushes past me, bumping his shoulder into my chest leaving a sharp pain coursing through my left breast.
Wow, rude much?
He buys a carton of milk and bolts out of the shop leaving his change on the counter. I ignore the glances I'm getting as I grab the money off the counter. I send the cashier an apologetic smile and rush out leaving the egg mess on the floor.
I come out of the shop and see him take quick strides down the street. His hoodie in one hand and his bare back facing me. The streetlights illuminating his alluringly sculptured back.
"Conway wait!" I shout after him, now I kinda feel bad. My feet pound on the pavement, increasing speed to catch up with him.
He doesn't stop walking until I touch his shoulder. He stiffens at that and abruptly stops walking.
"Look Conway, I'm sorry I ruined your clothes. Let me at least wash this for you." I say softly as I slowly reach for the hoodie in his hand. He doesn't look at me but lets me take it from him.
"And you forgot this." I say handing him his change. He takes it still not sparing me a glance. I get peek of his face and see his bloodshot eyes. He instantly walks away without a word.
Why are his eyes like that?

I wake up to Lulu's soft ticklish fur on my neck, her pinkish paws on my chest. She squeaks asking to be fed as I open my eyes. She really is the best pet rabbit when she isn't waking people up.
I groan and shield my eyes with my hand, as the morning sun seeps through the curtains. I reach for my phone under the pillow to check the time. I stroke Lulu's cheeks and she nuzzles her face farther into my hand. My eyes widen when I see that it's seven fifteen.
"Crap!"
Not again. I can't be late for school two days in a row. I'm so screwed. Really Zues?
I rush to the bathroom and take what's probably the shortest shower known to man. I brush my teeth while simultaneously combing my hair.
Thank Zues I prepared my uniform before going to bed last night.
I quickly put on my maroon pleated skirt, knee length white socks and the short sleeved shirt, I washed yesterday, with a maroon blazer.
It is seven forty five when I'm through with everything, excluding making my bed. Well not that I ever make my bed. I grab my backpack and make my way to the kitchen.
I grab an apple juice and a protein bar and I run out of the house. Aunt Bee is at work so no packed lunch for me today.
It's a forty minute walk to school so I run. I get to school exactly when the bell rings and mentally applaud myself for my punctuality.
I might be all sweaty but least I'm not late for class.
Thank you Zues!
I get out my books and I'm sharpening my pencil when the door opens. I look up to see Conway walk in, taking leisure strides completely ignoring the teacher's presence.
Oh would you look at that, the oaf is late. But isn't he supposed to arrive before everyone else? Some head boy he is.
"Sorry what was that?"
My eyes ball out when his flint gaze meets mine. I feel the cool beads of sweat form on my forehead as my body goes numb.
Uh oh. Did I say that out loud? A little help here Zues?
"You're late McPherson." Miss Johnson states. Conway breaks eye contact with me, irritation evident on his face as he shoots her a fake apologetic smile.
Nice save there Zues.
"Yeah right, tell me something I don't know." He mutters low enough for the people near him to hear when his back faces her.
After he sits, his flinty gaze settles on me once again making me gulp nervously.
