Chapter 9 - The 2nd Floor: Water

Security swarmed the floor from the elevators and the stairs to apprehend the person responsible for the mayhem on the 6th floor. He didn't technically break any of their rules but after a display of power like that, they couldn't let him continue training for the day. He was quickly surrounded and escorted to the elevator. All the while keeping that sadistic smile with satisfied eyes.

Vince looked around after all the other fire power people left to dry off and the security team evacuated the floor. The only other person still there was the creepy pale shadow guy who was watching Vincent again. Vince gave a small wave and the pale guy waved back then gestured for Vince to come out of the training room he was in.

"That was pretty intense, huh?" Vince spoke first to break the awkward moment that was 'greeting a stranger'.

"Y-yeah... I have never seen a power quite like that. It looked like he has had a lot more practice with it than just this facility. My name is Clive by the way." He said still hiding all emotion.

"I'm Vincent but you can call me Vince." He said

"Well Vincent, I assume you are new to your power correct? You don't see many people with an extraordinary power using it to burn a piece of paper." Clive said

'Did he just make a joke? How is his face so stoic?' Vince thought to himself.

"It is my first time actually using my skill for a purpose. I was too nervous that I might burn my house down trying to understand it." Vince said

"I have a few friends that got their power and a skill a few month ago, same as me. Do you want to meet them? I know this great sushi place that we can all go to." Clive said

"I really appreciate it but I'm on less of a sushi budget and more of a coffee and muffin kind of budget. Will that work?" Vince said

"Nonsense. It can be my gift to you since you are new to your power. Think of it as a birthday party for the birth of your new fire powered life. If you disagree, I won't tell you the secret to leveling up your skill." Clive rebutted.

"Fine, fine! I'll go. Only because I love sushi and I need to know how to become more powerful than that guy." Vince said while looking towards the empty training room where the guy in the leather jacket was.

Vince and Clive exchanged contact information and went their separate ways. Clive went back into his small training room while Vince had an idea. Why not go see some of the other powers in action? It is his first day here so he might as well see what caliber of power these individuals possess. If anything it will give him a better idea of just how strong he will become with time and training. He checked the map and decided to visit the water power floor first. He knew it would be crowded but because it was the most common skill, there was bound to be a wide range of skills being shown off.

The elevator was empty on his way down to the 2nd floor but it was a mad house as soon as he stepped off. This floor was devoted entirely to water with a steam that flowed along the floor of every training room and some larger rooms with was looked like large glass pools of water. Everyone was soaked but it didn't stop them from using as much space as they could to attack the training dummies. One woman immediately caught his eye because of her honey-colored hair contrasting her cerulean body suit. She was moving her arms back and forth like a wave as large waves reciprocated her movements in a pool. After a few seconds, she raised her hands straight up and the water followed forming a thick vertical wall. She released it and looked around to see quite a few people watching her. Vince continued his tour of the floor where he saw one person throwing spears made of water an another meditating on top of a small pond without sinking in. It was all very impressive but distracting and that is when Vince accidentally ran into a large man, probably in his late twenties, who was wearing a collard t-shirt and khaki shorts. The man immediately turned around with an angry look on his face.

"Watch it kid! Do you know who I am? The man said angrily.

"Ummm... No, but I am sorry I bumped into you. I was just distracted by-" Vince was cutoff

"I'm Brad Cooper and you don't just bump into me and get away with it." Brad said as if it meant something.

A crowd began to circle around the two guys as it looked as if a high school fight was about to start. Brad began to pull a large amount of water from the stream as it quickly ran dry. He held this water above his head ready to toss it like a boulder towards Vince.

"Cut it out, Brad" The woman in the cerulean bodysuit said as she brought her hand to the air and quickly pushed it down. The entire mass of water that Brad had lifted above his head crashed down drenching him and everyone around him except for Vince.

Vince was stunned by the shows of power from both of them. Still speechless as the woman walked up to him.

"Sorry about all of this. I'm Jenn." She said with a smile as her hand extended towards a still shocked Vince.
