All five Cross Heart Adventurers sat down in a blank room, a small TV screen at the corner. The other four had looks of confusion on their faces, Paolo being the only that understood the situation.
"What's going on?" Aline asked, frowning at the all-white walls.
Paolo handed each of them a piece of paper. "Today we're celebrating the ending of the first half of the first volume by sharing random information on the series and characters."
"Isn't it weird to do this in the middle of the series," Octavius said. "Are you sure the author isn't just too lazy to-"
"It's a special chapter," Paolo interrupted. "And it'll be done after every saga or part ends. Since this is the first time, we'll just spew anything. The next time we'll be expecting questions from the readers. So readers make sure to drop your comments."
"Isn't this just cheap advertising?" Aline stated.
"The cheaper the better," Shinzo retorted.
"Anyways…" Paolo dragged. "Let's start, we're revealing ages."
Octavius pushed up his glasses. "My age has already been revealed, but I'll repeat it so you punks know not to call me a kid, I'm nineteen."
"The fact that you're the oldest still irks me," Shinzo stated before receiving a kick to the shin. Octavius smiled proudly, Shinzo holding his bruised area with tears in his eyes. "A-anyways, I'm sixteen, the same age as Paolo."
Aline pointed at her and Luna. "And the both of us are eighteen."
"That offends me."
Aline's foot ended up on his knee, a yelp rolling off Shinzo's lips. She ignored his yells of protest, lifting up the paper. "Next is our names origins. The author wasn't being very picky names and just took names depending on our real world origin. My real world origin is France, so she picked a name from there which also includes Vivienne and Alexandre."
"I'm from Brazil and Luna is of Spanish origins," Octavius looked at Shinzo who still hadn't gotten over his pain. "And this idiot is clearly Japanese."
"For all of you thinking I'm of Italian descent, you're wrong," Paolo said. "I'm actually very African from my looks to my hair texture. Unfortunately, the author thought it was a smart idea to give all members of the God Clan Italian names."
At his comment, a swarm of bats invaded his personal space. He tried to brush them off, but his attempts failed. The bats disappeared once his hair had become disheveled and his face decorated with scratches.
Luna snickered. "The author is probably telling you to watch your tone."
"Damn it," he hissed.
"Next is our heights," Luna continued. "I'm five foot nine, pretty tall aren't I?"
"I'm the tallest, being six foot four," Shinzo bragged, eyeing Aline beside him. "Some people wish they were as tall as me."
"I'm just two inches below you, don't act like you're that tall."
"Being six feet isn't special either," Octavius mumbled.
Paolo snickered, ruffling his hair. "Are you sad because you're only five foot two?"
Octavius slapped his hand away, his cheeks puffing out. "Shut up, five foot six isn't anything special."
Paolo covered his mouth, laughing behind it. "At least I'm not the one who was supposed to be four feet tall."
"Why you…"
They all burst into laughter, Octavius punching Paolo's shoulder repeatedly. Shinzo was the first to recover, pulling up his paper before looking up. "Hey author, is this really a question you want me to ask."
The TV screen at the corner lit up, a bat with one eye on it. Beside it was a speech bubble, a red yes written on it, the bat making a sign that resembled a thumbs up. Shinzo sighed, turning to the two girls by his right.
"Girls, we'd like to know your bust sizes."
Aline immediately unsheathed her sword, but couldn't draw it because an invisible force stopped her movements. Shinzo smirked. "You can't run away, the author won't allow you."
"Damn you," she hissed, glaring at him.
"I'll go first, I'm a D," Luna said.
"As in D for demon because that's the only explanation for women with big breasts."
"Don't be spiteful because you're an A," Shinzo mocked.
"Shut up you I'm a solid B cup."
"I'm sure you'd love that."
The two broke into an argument, the other three sighing. Octavius turned to Paolo. "Hey Paolo, for your powers how long does it last?"
Paolo stroked his chin before answering. "You see there isn't really a time limit unless I turn it off or you know… die." Aline and Shinzo stopped their argument, the place turning dead silent as they looked at Paolo. He cleared his throat, looking back at his paper. "A-anyways, Shinzo is there a reason you tie your headband on your arm."
Shinzo shrugged. "It's easier to access and I mostly expect a fight so I keep it with me in case."
"I think you look good with your hair down," Luna commented.
"I do too, but I can't have hair in my face."
Octavius snickered. "That would be so funny especially if your hair covered your face, you'd be a menace to society."
The bat on the screen flashed the words hentai protagonist and everyone burst into laughter except Shinzo who scowled. "Ha ha, laugh it up."
"Paolo you have this huge personality gap, why is that?" Luna asked.
"Well let's just say when you have a childhood like mine it would be weird to not have a twisted personality."
Luna smiled. "That's fair."
"For the people who wear glasses, how bad is your eyesight?" Shinzo asked.
"If you guys stood at a far distance, you'd all look like you were censored," Aline commented. "Although that doesn't sound too bad in a certain idiot's case."
"What did you say?" Shinzo hissed.
The two started another round of arguments, Octavius ignoring them and answering the question. "Mine is bad, but I'd still be able to make out who you are if I squint really hard."
"Okay, last comment you guys," Paolo said, calling the attention of Shinzo and Aline. "If you were a reader, would you comment on this chapter?"
The room remained silent until everyone groaned. "Another shameless advert."
The bat on the TV screen winked, the speech bubble urging people to comment. Paolo smiled, the other four still dying beside him.
"See you guys next time."
