The fog covering the ground as the houses still tightly close. In a distance, the rooster crows loudly. The sun rise and it became warmer. The adults wake up as they start another new day. A single mother stand infront the wok, she fried some eggs n hand made sausages. She put it on two plates along with some slice tomatoes and salad.
Adam feed the chickens and water the vegetables. Then he goes through the kitchen back door to wash his hands. He poured the hot tea before he seat down.
"Are you done with the chores Adam?", asked the mother.
"Yes mother", said Adam.
He prayed before eating. Today marked the day that Adam turned 15, it's a special day for others with the same age as him because the qualification test starts today at 8.
"Are you sure about taking the test. I'm worried", said the mother. She's just worried that his kind son will lose his confidence if he fail the test. Typical mother.
"No need to worry to much mother. I took it for the both of us. If I failed, I'll find another job", Adam explain calmly. Just by getting the rank E badge is good enough, he need to find a better job with more salary. It's his responsibility now since his father died two years ago.
"Hmm. Okay. I understand...", her son is so much mature than other kids his age. She need to put more trust on him.
Adam washed the dishes while his mother hang the clothes. He went to his room and take his bag. The knife is put in the sheath and tied to his waist with the belt. He sits under the tree infront the house while waiting for Anna, his childhood friend, a girl with long straight hair that's uses water element genshi.
He practice his fire genshi. He thinks about the shape of a fire ball on his palm. Then he make a fire arrow and also fire blade. The last one is a bit hard since he needs to make a full fire barrier around his body. He can make it last one to two minutes because it need a lot of genshi. Adam went to the kitchen to tell his mother.
"I need to go soon. Please pray that I'll succeed", he kiss her hand.
"Make sure to use your genshi carefully"
Adam nod. Anna called him. He goes to her side as quickly. She wears a white blouse shirt with knee length black skirt.
"Let's go or we will be late", they walked together with other people.
They arrive at train station in the city. The test take placed at the Building of Beginning that is solely for the test. After he brought the tickets, they scan it before getting on the train. Their seats is at the fourth wagon, at the D aisle. They take a sit while waiting the other passengers. A girl with black hijab that wears a royal blue long vest with a pattern of silver symmetrical on the back walk past them to the first wagon, which is for the upper class.
The train start to move on. Anna opened the window. The wind caressing her cheeks. She can see the grass as far she can see. The birds flying along with the train. Adam suddenly remembered something when he was 5.
That year all children at the age of 5 is obliged to go to the administration district building for the aptitude test. Not everyone is gifted with genshi.
Genshi is divided to 4 Basic element which is fire, water, air and earth. Adam is gifted with the fire element. Since then he trained a lot under a strict teacher, reading or went to see matchs with his father. Of course it's an official match. He was lucky enough to get someone that's willing to teach him properly when he was eight. His teacher saw him training alone in the woods. He smiled as he remembers it. Anna look at him.
"Why are you suddenly smiling?"
"It's nothing", he shakes his head. Adam look to the scenery on his right, the sky is painted with a vibrant blue.
An hour later, they arrived. Adam and Anna went by bus for another hour and a half. The passengers take off the bus and goes to lined up at the long queue.
'Wah! Looks at that number. They all gonna take the test too'
After the registration ended, all the crowd went inside. The hall is filled with brimming voices. There is around 350 people. The right and left side of the wall is filled with glass window. Adam and Anna took a seat.
"Welcome to all prospective Tenshiz. We will start with a simple test. Right now I want each of you to search a red badge that's been placed around the hall. Ten minutes starts now!", the announcement ended with the candidates scurrying around. Looking at any place they could think.
Without wasting any time Adam and Anna start searching. A man took something from a wooden bench. A red triangle badge. He puts it on quickly. One by one they find the remaining badge.
The girl wearing black hijab just sits calmly while drinking tea without a care. She stop siping the tea and take a look around. She puts down the cup and went to a tree with purple leaves that glows under the sun. She picked a leaf and it turned into a badge. She clips it on her hijab.
Anna goes to yellow leaves tree. She touch the ground and took a small stone. It turned into a badge. She smiles and turned her head to Adam. He look a bit panic since only 5 minutes left. Anna took his hand.
"How about try looking on the floor", she suggested. No one was searching the floor.
Adam nods and starts touching around the floor, then he quickly went to a nearby table and went under it. He sees something shining and grab it. A paper? He was puzzled. He thinks that it was something shiny. The paper turned into a badge. He's shock but quickly put it on and goes to Anna side.
She's smiling happily when she sees the badge at his shirt. Tiitt!!! Times up. Adam smiled with relief.
