"Yes, my friend was a target because someone ratted out that she had nice things in her bag," Ladislas said cheekily. "Don't worry, I will hide you."
He stood up and blocked everyone's view as G reluctantly took out her phone. It was a new phone even though the model was a decade old. "Did you buy it recently?" he asked.
G choked. "Yeah. Phones are necessary these days."
"Especially ones that function just like phones and not as every other gadget on the planet," he quipped. "I never quite understood why humans like to put all their needs in a small box." He huffed.
She nodded and there was silence. "She will turn up in the morning, you will see," G said with what she thought was a reassuring smile. "You should get home now, Sir. It's not safe for you down here at night."
