Chapter 25 - The War (Part Two)

As the battle between Aaron and the Shadow Lord progressed, events on the surface got increasingly worse. The demonic royalty had reached the Kingdom of Quina, and had broken through the "Unbreakable Walls" that protected it.

The royalty walked into the kingdom, and things began to burn. They had started a fire using some of the broken wood that was lying around. People were running around screaming, scared for their lives. They didn't know that these were demons that were attacking them. All they knew is that they were being attacked by something, and that they needed to get out of there.

Light and Yua flew through the air, trying to find more of the demons to destroy, so that they could go and help Aaron, when the saw the large kingdom covered in smoke. The best place to find a demon is in a place that looks like their home floor.

Light and Yua rushed down to the ground, as they planned to destroy the demons as quickly as possible.

The second Yua landed, someone dealt a devastating jumping kick to her chest, sending her flying into a nearby building, causing the walls to crack.

Light looked at where the kick was dealt, and in place of Yua, there was another humanoid demon. A male, with almost fully black eyes, save for the irises. He looked up at Light, who already had an attack charging down from the heavens, in the form of his Falling Star Slam.

In the air, a large meteorite was flying towards the ground. Light didn't care about thhe human population. All he cared about was getting his job done. Kill the demons. It wasn't going to be as easy as he thought.

The demon put his hand in the air, and, once the meteorite was around fifty meters from crashing, he stopped it, using an unknown type of magic. It was invisible, so it would be correct to assume it was some kind of telekinesis.

Light charged up a blast from his mouth as this took place, and once the rock was fully crushed, he fired a Burst Stream which he learned in his previous evolution.

He cut it off early, as to disorient the demon. It began to block the attack, but it ended much shorter than it was expected to, as Aaron picked up the demon, and in under 0.5 seconds, shoved the demon into his mouth, and bit down. The sound of bone crushing echoes throughout the kingdom.

To bite into the bone of a demon, you needed a bite force of 3,538 PSI, or Pounds per Square Inch. Light was just above that amount, at 3,712 PSI, so he could crush the demon's bones. The bone that was crushed was the skull.

The demon had been slain. Why wasn't a message showing up?

Well, the system had decided to deliver the Exp and alert them of how many they killed at the end of the war, or when the Shadow Lord was dead.

Light began his search for more demons, but was stopped by a human. Laurel Anarpov.

"Halt, monster! What beings you to cause this destruction?" She obviously hadn't seen the demons who caused this.

"Quiet, human. My battle is not with you. It is with the demons. Now, I'm going to go kill some more, like I've been ordered to."

"Wait, someone ordered you? You are a dragon, correct? Who would have the strength to command a being of mighty status?"

"A skeleton. That's who."

And with that, Light flew into the air, bringing Yua with him, leaving Laurel to contemplate what that meant. It didn't register with her that she had caputered an extremely strange skeleton not three days ago.

Laurel went out searching for any way to prevent more damage, but the buildings nearby were almost destroyed, thanks to the demons. Laurel just sighed, as she began to run along the streets of the burning city, trying to see if anyone needed help getting out of their buildings.

Down on the third floor, Aaron had been flung into another wall, but with around three times the force. Great, now he was injured.

Aaron was injured, but he wasn't dead. He lifted up his hand, as a yellow ball began to form. It wasn't a Skelengelica bolt. It was a shot of light magic.

Aaron made the ball around the size of the throne room, and threw it towards the Shadow Lord. The Shadow Lord had nowhere to go. The giant ball of light was about to hit him, and then, he disappeared. He re-appeared infront of Aaron, as a smile appeared on his shadowy face.

"You can't defeat shadows. They are everywhere, human. You can't win against me."

With that said, he grabbed the armour from Aaron's chest, and ripped it off, breaking it in the process. He then stopped smiling, as he saw Aaron's ribs.

"You are no human. You are but a weak skeleton!"

Aaron chuckled. It was hilarious to see his reaction.

"Yeah, and what are you going to do about it?"

"This."

The Shadow Lord then grabbed Aaron by the ribs, and crushed his entire body, starting from his feet up. He couldn't feel any of it, but it wasn't any fun either. He knew that he was going to die here, but he had his little trump card.

As the last piece of Aaron remained, that being his skull, the Demon, or Shadow, Lord decided to go into a long monologue of speaking, which essentially culminated into this:

"Demons have been locked down here for millennia. Humans get to be on the surface, experience new things, and get to relax. Demons are forced to look around at the same things every day. The lava is only entertaining for so long."

He was probably filled in with the recent history by his Assistant, who was still on the ground, affected by gravity.

Aaron's head began to be pushed inwards, as his skull cracked.

Then, it shattered.
