Chapter 4 - Golden Wind

Aaron ran. He ran as fast as he could. He would've ran faster, if not for the creature interrupting his walk. He had planned to use some of the Bio Points he supposedly got to upgrade his stats, but that was while he was casually walking. Not now. He was too busy running for his undead life.

It followed him around corners. It tracked his moves, and followed him everywhere. This had to come to an end, however. He encountered a dead end, and looked behind him, hoping to find that the worm was not there. He was mistaken. It was blocking the only exit. It looked like it was smiling.

There were only two options for Aaron right now, and those were either die, or fight. Against his will as a pacifist, he decided to fight, so he could survive.

He pulled one of the bones in his rib out, and it became sharp, like a blade. This would make things easier, all thanks to the self-explanatory skill 'Bone Blade'.

He ran towards the worm-like creature, and tried to stab it in to its body, but it didn't pierce enough, and the worm simply got angry. It flicked its head at Aaron, sending him flying backwards, into the wall of the 'Dungeon'.

[Health: 219/300]

Aaron's bone audibly cracked against the wall, but not a single one broke. He stood up, only to see the worm rushing towards him, as it came into contact with his body, slamming his body into the wall once more, cracking even more bones.

[Health: 162/300]

It then continued to slam into Aaron, using its large body, crushing the bones that it hit, using itself and the wall to do so.

[Health: 59/300]

Aaron, and his broken bones, fell to the ground, as some of them disintegrated.

[Health: 10/300]

[Final 10 Health]

'So. This is it, huh? Death by a giant worm? What a world.'

[Health: 9/10]

'I haven't even been alive a singular day, yet I'm already about to die.'

[Health: 8/10]

'Fuck you, giant worm. Fuck you. I fucking hate you, and your existence.'

[Health: 6/10]

'Huh. So now my health drains quicker, eh? Well, there's no point. I couldn't even fight the thing.'

[Health: 4/10]

'Heh, Goodbye, world.'

[Health: 2/10]

'Goodbye, Ameratsu'

[Health: 1/10]

'Goodbye...me.'

[Health: .../10]

[Health: ###/10]

[User ###### has disabled death for User Aaron Stone temporarily.]

[Abilities provided to User Aaron Stone]

[Boundless Potential]

[Explanation: Specific User (Aaron Stone) cannot be limited by level. All abilities are unlocked, and are levelled up by one level at purchase. All current skills gain a single level alongside it. Level requirements for evolution are still necessary, but user is able to gain better evolutions than what are normally available.]

[Golden Wind]

[Explanation: User gains a buff to all stats, that being a multiplication of two, and this will affect all stats as of current and future. User is also entitled to one revive per evolution, with an increase in one per evolution. Revives are refilled upon evolution.]

'So, there are evolutions, huh? Well, now I know about the purpose of levels. Also, revival?! That's a bit overpowered, isn't it? I mean, just coming back from the dead, with no drawbacks? Seems too good to be true, but what else can I do for now? Golden Wind!'

Suddenly, Aaron could feel himself being pieced back together, like a jigsaw puzzle which had been thrown apart. His body re-assembled itself, as Golden Wind took effect. However, it did not mention the aftereffect which Aaron had believed would happen.

Once Aaron's body was fully rebuilt, he became paralysed. He wasn't able to move. The worm was gone, but that wouldn't be the last time that worm would be seen.

[Paralysis Time Remaining: Fifty-Nine Minutes, Fourty-Seven Seconds]

'Great. Now I'm paralysed. It truly was too good to be true. Although, at least I can move my eyes.'

Now that Aaron had time to think, he thought about what Ameratsu had told him. He was in the underground dungeon, which he guessed was full of monsters. Then there were the above-ground monsters, who were supposedly weaker than the below ground ones.

And then there were the humans. It made sense for them to hate monsters. After all, monsters did assault humanity. Although, he needed to learn when, and why. All he was hoping for was that one wouldn't attack him. He decided to check his stats, since he had the time.

'System. Open!'

[Opening....]

'Oh, I have twelve bio points, huh? That means I can upgrade my stats. I want to upgrade my defence more, so I can block more.'

He then put all twelve points into defence. Hsi stats now consisted of:

[Attack: 20]

[Defense: 51]

[Health: 600/600]

[Agility: 39]

[Dexterity: 206]

[Luck: 2]

[Bio Points: 0]

'Alright, now its time to wait out this paralysis. May as well go and check out the different skills I can get.'

[Skills]

[Lower: 12,827 Skills Available]

[Medium: 9,282 Skills Available]

[Higher: 3,938 Skills Available]

[Magic: 201 Skill Trees Available]

[Unique Skills]

[Boundless: 10 Skills Available]

'JESUS! That is a LOT of abilities. And those don't even include the ones special to some species!'

This was a lot of information to take in, but the thing that interested him was the 'Boundless' option. He tried to go into it, but was met with an error.

[Error: Unable to access Unique Skills.]

[Reason: Lack of Evolution]

[Solution: Evolve Twice]

'So, I have to work for these skills, huh? Makes complete sense. Ameratsu did say that I can't be too strong right off the bat. I have to work for it. Although, I have to be careful with how I work now. I may be strong, but as that worm showed me, I'm not strong enough. Now, time to wait out this stupid paralysis.'
