Ayesha Point of View
What I did for the past few days was to spend my quality time bonding with my family during the day and in the evening, if there are some reports to accomplish or to be submitted, I gave some time to do it.
My family was not that rich and not poor, in short, we live simple. My father was a farmer. He cultivates the land whereas my grandfather gave him before he passed away. It's not that an extensive farm just like others. While my mother was an engineer. I have one brother and one sister. I was the youngest child. We all have a degree to be proud of by ourselves. I'm only the one who decided to work in the city right after I passed my licensure examination and they chose to stay in our hometown.
I have nine days left for my vacation. We decided to go to some nature adventure in a nearby municipality.
We did parasailing, helmet diving, island hopping, paddle boarding, and lots of other adventures.
During dinner, we do some bonfire and it was kind of a boodle fight. There are so many stories and realizations we shared during our family adventures. This kind of moments was the best memories I want to treasure and to tell this kind of story someday.
For now, praise my progress and little milestones. I just played with the waves because I didn't know how to swim and I felt uncomfortable being in the water. But thanks to the message sent to me.
"Don't be afraid to get out of your comfort zone. Don't let your worries overwhelmed your thought."
That message was sent by Vener. I don't know what he's up to but I'm thankful that I met him and always be there as my friend. Friend? I smiled bitterly with my sudden unnecessary thoughts while shaking my head.
The next day, my brother Joshua taught me and give me some tips on how to do some tricks in the water. He even teased me.
"Oh my little sister, our baby grew up. It's miracle," he said meaningfully. I just rolled my eyes at him. "Don't do you dare to do that again, I will get your eyes."
"My brother, how will you get my eyes? That's so brutal," I retorted while laughing.
"What makes you want to learn? What change your mind? I should say, who?" he interrogated me as if I hide something maliciously.
"Can we say that it was a sign of maturity?" I replied but my brother just smile.
"You think so?" he sarcastically implored. My brother and his mind? What is he implying?
I heaved a deep sighed. "Oh, I'm just joking my baby sister."
Then, we both laughed.
Thanks to Vener's message and my brother instructor, I've grown hops and bounds in terms of my love and comfort being in the water. I no longer run from the waves. I face the waves and engross myself in their presence.
My milestones may seem meaningless and basic to some people who know how to paddle. But for me, they are major milestones and I'm so satisfied and thankful! For me, it's a great achievement.
"You're not going to sleep?" my sister Nona asked. She sat beside me as we looked into the dim view of the water. It's past nine pm and I was still here outside.
A loud noise coming from other people who are still enjoying the night was the only noise I can hear aside from the waves of the sea.
"Later," I responded. We talked a lot of things, a girl talk, from the smallest happening to ourselves to the bigger one. Though we have a big age gap with my siblings, more than 6 years, still they act like my parents. Both my siblings are single, not yet married.
"Ayesha, what little milestones are you celebrating this week?" my sister suddenly asked me.
"I don't know, I just want to make this vacation memorable," I said directly.
"Someone told me that we don't look at other people's milestones and compare with ours. Look at your own Before and Now. Remember that," she smiled.
After our girl bonding or girl talking, we decided to go inside to sleep.
I am now more open to receiving love.
I can relax with the knowledge that I was loved by my family. I was blessed.
I lay down in the bed and immediately took my phone after it beeps with a new message coming in the messenger.
"Hey, girl. Do you sleep? Just want to check on you, how your family moment?"
I smiled as I read the message of my friend Ron.
I replied telling her that it was fine and memorable.
Then, I looked at another message and it was from Vener.
"Hope you have fun." -Vener
"Yeah. Goodnight." -me who's replying to his message.
After sending my reply, I decided to sleep. It was a deep sleep.
The following day which our last day staying here, we spent our time together enjoying the moment.
Right after breakfast, I decided to give the time to myself. I walked in the seaside taking pictures using my phone if there was a good spot or right angle. I walked as well in the stalls where we can buy souvenirs. I took a look at it and they are all good in which I can not pick what am I going to buy. All are affordable, keychains, wind charm, bracelets, phone accessories and many more. I went to the other stalls and it was the same as the others.
I went to the last stall and what caught my attention was the keychain. It was a mug porcelain keychain with a dog engrave on it perfectly. I bought it without hesitation.
"This keychain has a partner," she showed me a spoon porcelain keychain with a dog lace engrave to it in the handle.
I instantly took a picture of it and post it on my Instagram. I received many reactions saying it was so cute and they want to have it, too. My students reacted as well.
