Chapter 13 - Glance of his (13)

Ayesha Point of View,

A picture is worth a thousand words. It describes beyond actions. When things got unclear, just focus on the picture's ideas, you'll come to know the meaning of it.

But I don't get the idea why Ron posted my picture on her social media. It seems she's plotting something creepy and I hated it.

"Life is likened to a camera, a picture. Simply, point on what's valuable and capture the good moments, nurture from the contraries and if those aspects don't work out, just take another shot." Ron said not minding my litany as she eating pandesal stuffed stuffing in a canton. It's her second round of eating as if nothing had happened and that she has no error. "Hey, you don't want?".

I shrugged as my reply rolling my eyes as I concentrate on watching Chinese drama. "I'm sorry, I won't do it again."

She looked at me with puppy eyes.

"Don't look at me. The picture publicized by you on social media without my permission was illegal. That means the photo harm my reputation or create a false impression of me. If someone happens or if there's a crime committed a crime, then they will point out my innocent soul, what if I was suffered as a consequence of that defamation," I stated because it was a truth.

"If you find your image posted that you did not authorise, you had tried to reach out to me who posted it because I did inform you that I posted it. I didn't deny it so you can't take any legal stance and crime? Don't overact," she rebutted. "And be thankful, mind you, mister crush slashed handsome commented on your photo."

I frowned at her statement. "And who is mister crush slashed handsome? Do I know him?"

"Are you sure you don't know? How dense?"

"You're muttering. You have many offences so don't add more," I said as if I was sound pissed. Ron gazes at me seriously then she smiled unexpectedly. I asked again but she didn't answer by changing the topic. Do I need to know something?

"I'll just treat you so there's no more whining," She stood up, fixed her plate and keep on the food container the leftover food. She went to the sink and washed dishes while I was drowning in the movies I'm watching.

On my peripheral view, she then went in front of me and grabbed me to my room. "Prepare yourself, we'll do shopping."

"Is that your valid reason why you disturbed my momentum?" I shouted. She closes her ears with her hands. "What kind of shopping? Window shopping?"

She answered me sheepishly. It's not bad to go unwind before the classes resume. So I did what she asked for. I prepared myself, a simple outfit can do. I was expecting she will make a comment on my outfit and that she wants something fashionable but she didn't criticise instead she gave me two thumbs up. Maybe, she just wants to make up for what she had done.

As expected, we went to the nearest mall doing window shopping. We roamed around all floors just to glance for discounted or sale items but we don't have intentions to buy those products. One thing was we did was something fun. We went to the arcade and it's good that only a few went here so it was not a hassle. We played what we want.

Then, our last destination before dinner time was the karaoke bar. Ron sang countless times and her chosen songs seem to convey bad memories from the past. I have hinted about what she's up to but I didn't bother myself asking who and what is it. I just let her voice out in due time if she's ready.

After singing, Ron gave to me the microphone. She decided on one song and the rest was my chosen song. I sang according to the tune. I was carried away with the tune and lyrics. I sang out of heart though I know that the quality of my voice was unpleasant. After the song ended, someone was clapping his hand so I turned my gazes and look at it. To my surprise was the last person I could encounter one of these days.

He did hear and see what I sang. All I thought we are in an exclusive room but I was wrong.

"What brought you here?" I curiously asked not minding what would be his impression.

"We'll have a get-together party in the next room but I was bored to death. Oldies taste, you know. At some point, I heard a familiar voice singing, so I sneak out." He explained casually.

"Is this soundproof?"

"Yeah, it happens that you don't close the door appropriately," Vener said.

"By the way, I'm Rona Jean Reyes," Ron introduced herself while I was still in a state of shock that he heard me singing. I'm not proud of it.

"I'm----"

"Vener Costello," Ron added when she interrupted Vener's statement. Then she looked at me in a meaningful way.

After some time we went to the food court and ordered. Ron was her payback time so I didn't let Vener pay the bill even though he insisted to pay many times.

"It's not good to let a lady pay the bill," he retorted.

"Let me remind you, Mister Costello, we are living in a democratic country. We are given the right to do what we want. There's no law stating that a man should pay all the bills all the time. Have mercy on your wallet!" he heaved a sighed as a sign of defeat.

"Hep! What are you fighting for, my sister?" Ron interrupted us, so instead of being confused, she was smiling from ear to ear as if she's up to something great.

"Gender equality!" I grumbled.

"You won," two words seem like music to my ears.

After an hour, he bid his goodbye and went back to the Oldies.

"Why?" I asked.

"Nothing. I was just curious if what makes you special," Ron replied still fixed on her lips the smile meaningfully and teasing look. Before I could say something, I tugged Ron to leave the place.
